In my opinion, the “Part D prescription drug” program is the biggest government fraud yet to be perpetrated on senior citizens of America. Thank you Wal-Mart and now Dillons for simplfying prescription drug savings for everybody regardless of age.

An example of that quality free health care in the Great Britain…yeah…

Woman Injected With Cleaning Fluid During Childbirth to Get Nearly $10 Million

“A U.K. woman who was accidentally injected with cleaning fluid during childbirth has been awarded nearly $10 million, it is reported by the Daily Mail.

Angelique Sutcliffe, 47, suffered severe neurological damage that has left her in a wheelchair since receiving the botched epidural injection just before the birth of her daughter seven years ago, according to the report.

Sutcliffe received the epidural because she was having a painful time giving birth to her daughter Abigail at the University Hospital in Aintree, Liverpool.

The needle, however, was contaminated with chlorhexidine — a fluid used as a hospital antiseptic, according to the report.

Sutcliffe suffered a severe headache, confusion, restlessness and was seen thrashing around on her bed shortly after, the Daily Mail wrote.

Suftcliffe’s fight for compensation reached an appeals court, which awarded her 5 million pounds or about $9.8 million this week, it is reported.”

    George W Bush Presidential Library

The George W Bush Presidential Library is now in the planning stages. You’ll want to be one of the first to make a contribution to this great man’s legacy

    The Library will include:
    * The Hurricane Katrina Room, which is still under construction.
    * The Alberto Gonzales Room, where you can’t remember anything.
    * The Texas Air National Guard Room, where you don’t have to even show up.
    * The Walter Reed Hospital Room, where they don’t let you in.
    * The Guantanamo Bay Room, where they don’t let you out.
    * The Weapons of Mass Destruction Room (Which no one has been able to find).
    * The Iraq War Room. After you complete your first tour, they make you to go back for second, third, fourth, and sometimes fifth tours.
    * The Dick Cheney Room, in the famous undisclosed location, complete with shooting gallery.
    * Plans also include: The K-Street Project Gift Shop – Where you can buy (or just steal) an election.
    * The Airport Men’s Room, where you can meet some of your favorite Republican Senators
    * To highlight the President’s accomplishments, the museum will have an electron microscope to help you locate them.
    * Last, but not least, there will be an entire floor devoted to a 7/8 scale model of the President’s ego

State of the Union Address and Ground Hog Day
This is a year when both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address occur in the same week.
And as it has been pointed out, “It is an ironic juxtaposition of events: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, while the other involves a groundhog.”

Of course, some have suspected that Anonymous was another Pen Name for Francis Bacon, possibly the greatest essayist ever, but that theory was unfortunately thwarted, when other scholars suggested Bacon could possibly have been the real Shakespeare; thus making it nearly impossible, time wise, for Bacon to have also been the widely traveled Greek pretender, Anonymous.

We seem to be standing in the crosshairs of a new era – where the power has to large extent shifted from the people to the government. To secure its dominance, the proponents of a large, liberal, increasingly socialist government are using every available means to take away individual freedom and responsibility, and therefore our dignity and self-respect, by the use of entitlement programs, the redistribution of wealth and earnings, and the taking of private property from the people.
Ours is rapidly becoming a radically different country than the one the Constitution established and the one I grew up in admiring and feeling so privileged to be born into.
One day, when what is passing is but a page in history, those reading will wonder what we were thinking to have let this happen.
Think long and carefully what the politicians are saying and promising. Are they offering freedom with equal opportunity, or equal outcomes where eventually no one will have much of anything. When they promise too much they will also take too much.

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia;

“Socialism refers to a broad array of ideologies and political movements with the goal of a socio-economic system in which property and the distribution of wealth are subject to control by the community. This control may be either direct—exercised through popular collectives such as workers’ councils—or indirect—exercised on behalf of the people by the state. As an economic system, socialism is often characterized by state, worker, or community ownership of the means of production, goals which have been attributed to, and claimed by, a number of political parties and governments throughout history.”

I think I pretty well nailed it down.

“Sounds a whole lot better than what we got.”

Those who do not understand history are doomed to repeat it. JR, socialism has failed everywhere it has been attempted, and for obvious reasons: it is contrary to the inherent nature of human beings. The more we go there, the less wealth there will be for anyone.

Of course, perhaps that is the goal – to make everyone equally poor. Remembering, of course, that some are more equal than others.

Some things never change: “Wherever there is a jackboot stomping on a human face there will be a well-heeled Western liberal to explain that the face does, after all, enjoy free health care and 100 percent literacy.”

Derbyshire was right in 2000: http://www.nationalreview.com/01may00/derbyshireprint050100.html

It appears that Sen. McCain may have a more pressing and immediate problem apart from the NY Times article being discussed on another thread.

It seems that he wishes to withdraw from public financing of his campaign. FEC has indicated that there exists two problems with his request: one, the lack of a quorum, due to vacancies not filled on the FEC; two, a confusing (to me) loan agreement with a Bethesda, MD bank that involves the federal funding in some way.

As I understand the linked piece, there is a limit of $54 million that can be spent before the nomination, if a candidate accepts public funding; Sen. McCain has spent $49 million to date, and is raising money to spend more.

Contained in the linked piece are the responses of the campaign to the FEC, and some observations concerning the two questions from individuals not currently connected to either side of the discussion.

    Here Hecky Hecky,

Heckler’s post at top of yesterdays open thread, at 6:13 AM — “Between 1940 and 2000, solar activity…” is supposed to be based on Usoskin’s 2003 paper.

But here is what Usoskin’s 2005 paper says (emphasis added)
    http://www.mps.mpg.de/dokumente/publikationen/solanki/c153.pdf
The last 30 years [of data] are not considered however. In this time the climate and solar data diverge strongly from each other.

Note that the most recent warming, since around 1975, has not been considered in the above correlations. During these last 30 years the solar total irradiance, solar UV irradiance and cosmic ray flux has not shown any significant secular trend, so that at least this most recent warming trend must have another source

There goes cosmos with that average temperature thing. Average temperature is about as useful as teats on a boar.

The optimum temperature has never been established for one and the other reasons that temperatures vary widely throughout the planet due to regional conditions.

So cosmos, explain the usefulness of averaging the temperature of Nome, Alaska and the Gobi Desert. Submit your paper on your results for peer review.

“Neither the boy nor I have ever said Chas. wasn’t a Christian. Not once, not ever.”

Actually, your son has questioned Chas. about his Christianity. Hank, I am quite aware that you and your son both probably have a pretty restrictive definition of Christianity that is not held by some more liberal denominations like UCC/Disciples of Christ/etc. I personally find such distinctions more revealing about the people who make them than about the definition issue itself. I do not consider you or your son trolls (although I have other very strong differences with you, and I do think that both of you, particularly Nathan, are not above taunting someone, particularly someone like Chas. who alternates between his own taunting and posting over the top reactions to the taunts of others-which of course does nothing to calm the level of discourse down. A professional troll like Regular is something else entirely.).

Just to make it clear with regards to my post in contention, I was paraphrasing my perception of a discussion that has occurred repeatedly and boringly over and over here. The paraphrasing was somewhat snarky with regards to all concerned. Being snarky, I wish to make it clear that I do not claim to have directly quoted ANY of the participants in this discussion. Regular did not say “fake minister”, you did not say “non-Christian”, and Chas. did not say “I SAID STOP IT!!!!!!!! I’m WARNING you!!!!!”

That being said, I think my snarky response does capture the spirit of what has been going on. Regular DID essentially say “fake minister” when he agreed with ANTI’s “It can’t be true” (BTW, I don’t claim to know, but I do suspect ANTI of being a sock puppet. I could be wrong.). You indicated that Chas. runs from defining Christian (I’ll take it at your word that this is your first discussion with Chas. on this subject, but it sure isn’t the first time that your son Nathan has brought this up along the lines of “you say you are a Christian minister but do you believe…”). As for my paraphrasing of Chas., I really don’t think I am anywhere far from the mark there.

And to be clear, I think Chas. assumes the bulk of responsibility for the continuation of this sort of exchange, which is why my criticism was directed towards him.

Many countries listed with the best standards of living could be called socialist. Participating in a free market economy with representative governments they somehow force the “trickle down” theory to work with taxation designed to benefit society as well as capital. Other socialist countries do not as well but maybe there is a right mix of government intervention and hands off, for seems what works in one place is panned elsewhere. All economics, like politics is local. Names do not a system make.

Actually, the more he posts and evades answering questions, the more I belive that he is blaspheming God.

On several occasions now he has indicated that he belives it is just fine to think God is a Golden Calf. He has also introduced a blessing to people on behalf of a Golden Calf and thought nothing wrong with that.

I don’t care if Chas calls himself a Christian or a purple polka dotted monster. It doesn’t make it any more the truth that he is either, simply because he declares it so.

An Oklahoma legislative committee has approved a bill that would actually require abortion mills to comply with FDA safety restrictions, inadequate as they are, on the RU-486 abortion drug, and enforce a follow-up exam, even after the abortion mill has already collected the hard cash in advance. Failure to comply, if actually ever prosecuted, would result in a felony charge.
At least 13 mothers have been killed by RU-486, and hundreds more injured by serious complications, some life-threatening. RU-486, used in over 13% of America’s contract killings in abortion mills, is 10 times more dangerous to mothers than first-trimester surgical abortion, and in 10% of cases, a follow-up surgical abortion is required because of incomplete RU-486 abortion.

It appears that Henry Morgentaler, Canada’s most notorious criminal abortionist quack, the one man most responsible for essentially no laws at all restricting Canadian abortions since 1988, is ill and will die soon, perhaps even before being awarded the Order of Canada, the highest civilian honor.
Mr. Morgentaler will have his final reward, soon enough, though it will not be a medal.

“I should never have had an abortion. I see now I would have been a good mum. I told everyone I didn’t want to do it, even at the hospital. I was frightened, now it is too late. I died when my babies died. I want to be with my babies – they need me, no-one else does.”

By the way, RU-486 is not the morning after pill. It is used to kill a baby of up to 7 weeks gestation, usually, then to induce labor to expel the dead baby, so that the mother gets a good look at what she has done with her own hand.
RU-486 is manufactured in China, by a company being investigated for paralyzing hundreds of victims with another drug manufactured at another Chinese facility.
The morning-after pill, also called Plan B, is used to prevent implantation of a living fertilized human embryo in the mother’s uterus, causing its death. It can be used up to 72 hours after coitus, but is really only reliable up to about 36 hours or so after. Conception can take place within 24 hours after coitus, making the morning-after pill, also erroneously called emergency contraception, a true abortifacient.

Christians think God is a person not a thing. Anti that might be what Max and Nathan are saying.

Chas constantly calls others names. Makes totally wrong statements and never, never admits to being wrong. Throwing the blame on all other bloggers. He can question Max’s perception of socialism but no one can question his perception of Christianity even though he throws it up constantly.

It would seem to me, as an observer, that questions regarding socio/economic matters that have well researched definitions, and an individual’s religious beliefs are at total opposite ends. Religious beliefs vary from person to person, from place to place, from continent to continent.

Thus, if someone should post a religious belief different from someone else’s views, that should be quite normal. If such a person is put down, or belittled, IMHO that person will likely attack back at someone who would attack their beliefs.

Therefore, I cannot see why there is such a string of vitriolic posts against another poster who has differing view points.

If those views dont match yours, so what? That person is entitled to those beliefs! It seems terribly narrow minded of some here to attempt to belittle another person with differing interpretations of religious faith and/or experience.

I have never seen such a demented mess!

Please note: The poster identified as Clergy has not made any statements on this thread regarding religious beliefs. As I read the thread, the Clergy poster challenged another poster’s wrong use of the concept of socialism, and challenged a definition. For that, the Clergy poster was almost immediately attacked regarding his refusal to post details of his religious beliefs. From there, the thread has deteriorated drastically.

As an observer, and as a non-believer in any organized religion, I will also challenge the poster referred to as Max, and say that Max is using the term, socialism, in a wrong manner, for what Max is describing.

I also note that Max claims to have stared down a “demnon”. I somehow think that says more than a thousand words.

    Hey fleettwood,

Depends on what you’re training them for. Labs are a little goofy until they are older. I wouldn’t start training them seriously as a gun dog/retriever until they were at least a year old.

However, a lot of socialization occurs as a puppy. They are pretty much hard wired by 6 months. That is why I told Ben to chieck him out with kids before he gets too committed. At 11 months, what you see is what you get with his social skills.

Labs are generally pretty good with children, a little boistrous, the kid needs to be able to take a hit!

And when we CANT help somebody with a problem, we are some of the world’s greatest referral agents… We know where to send people to FIND answers…

Any Clergy person who thinks or acts as if they have all the answers… in my denomination that Clergy person will be facing malpractice charges very fast… It just isnt something that happens…

Now, when you can stop the ATTITUDE.. maybe we can actually have a discussion now and then… if not… just leave me the Hell alone!! I dont need your kind in my life… or in my church… Most of what I see of you on this Blog is that of a disruptor… NO congregation needs disruptors, and finger pointers, and opinionated yahoos, trying to tell others how to live their lives… I would hope you dont act like this in YOUR church…

    Max,
When Chas is posting that stuff, doesn’t it make you wonder how he can call himself a Christian???
    ————————————————-
    Absolutely.

To say that there are other Gods contradicts the Bible I know.

To post repeatedly that Agnostic trash is to at best question the existence of God, and at worst blaspheme His name.

Constantly mocking God would seem to indicate he has not accepted Jesus as his personal savior. I knew a former pastor once who quit preaching because of conflicts within himself. He thought Jesus was a prophet of sorts, but couldn’t accept him as Christ the Lord.

    Sad situation.

But, what’s worse, is the potential for harm that is done when someone who supposedly is a Christian leader, misleads his flock.

There are many sheep who might beleive him.

Nope WSClark, I never vouched for any of those people, because we’ve never met and even more importantly; even if we did meet – I would only vouch for a person if I knew them very well.

I doubt any of those would vouch for me either, as they’ve never met me.

    Vouching for strangers is stupid.

Max, and you other religiously bigoted zealots… I am going to say this just ONE MORE TIME — So read carefully….

NOWHERE can ANY of you find ANY post where I have said I believe in any other Gods… See, you all just dont READ!! Max, you obviously arent reading from a decent Bible if you havent read of other Gods (just like Clark pointed out – and that is only ONE of the references) –

What I have said, and will ALWAYS say, is a simple fact of reality — OTHER people believe in Other Gods!! I accept that fact… It is not my job to change them… Nor is it their job to change ME… I acknowledge their existence… And I ask a Blessing from God, whatever ANYBODY conceives God to be! That means OUR God, or anybody else’s God!!

Now why you folks cannot get a grip on that simple reality… I honestly dont know…

Jesus said to be peacemakers… Thats all I know… And so, I call for God to bless; whatever ANYBODY conceives God to be!!

And I will ALWAYS do that, because I believe that is one way for the world to live in Peace…

Nuff Said!! If you all cant handle that simple little fact of Reality, I feel sorry for you…

Just leave ME and MY faith alone!! I am not imposing anything on anybody else… Because the God I ask to Bless each night, is YOUR God as well as the Hindu Gods, for the Hindu, and even Nathan’s weird concept of the people of the Golden Calf… not MY Golden Calf, but those Golden Calf people!!

If that is their God, then they should also ask their God for blessing!!

Now, I am hoping that this matter can be put to rest… in the interest of furthering world peace…

How do you KNOW that he is a Marine? How do you KNOW that he was stationed in Iraq? How do you know these things?

Or do you just take his word for it?

I am not denying that Price is what he says he is, but by your own admission, you have never met him and yet you would vouch for him.

So why can’t you take Chas’ word that he is a minister?

I have been waiting a LONG time to make this post on the WE Blog. I don’t see anyone who blogged before, but to those who justify the actions of those who call darkness to be light and evil to be good let us all read the findings of the Kansas Judicial Commission on the following matter:

“Inquiry Concerning a Judge – Rebecca Pilshaw
    Docket No .987 filed 22 Feb 2008″
“Conclusions of Law The Panel unanimously finds that Respondent’s conduct by clear and convincing evidence, violated Canon 2A and Canon 3B,subsections (3)and (4).”

I guess those folks who made negative personal comments about anyone who would dare say that the SG County Judges and SG County is mired in wrongful acts under the color of law were not able to blog or blot out the recurring manifest injustice of the little demigods in Wichita.

We can all only hope that the day will come when wrongful officials in this county recognize THEY ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW!

Deuteronomy 4:35: “You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides him there is no other.”

Deuteronomy 4:39: “Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.”

Deuteronomy 32:39: “See now that I myself am He! There is no god besides me.”

2 Kings 19:15-19: “Hezekiah prayed to the Lord: `O Lord, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. Give ear, O Lord, and hear; open your eyes, O Lord, and see; listen to the words Sennacherib has sent to insult the living God. It is true, O Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste these nations and their lands. They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by men’s hands. Now, O Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all kingdoms on earth may know that you alone, O Lord, are God.’…

Isaiah 43:10, 13: “`You are my witnesses,’ declares the Lord, `and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior…. Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?’”

Isaiah 45:5-6: “I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting men may know there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is no other.”

Mark 12:32-34: “`Well said, teacher,’ the man replied. `You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.’ When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, `You are not far from the kingdom of God.’”

John 17:3: “This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”

Romans 3:29-30: “Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, since there is only one God.”

1 Timothy 1:17: “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

James 2:19: “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that — and shudder.”: “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that — and shudder.”

Jude 25: “To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”

    2 Peter chapter 2 (TEV)

9 And so the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials and how to keep the wicked under punishment for the Day of Judgment, 10 especially those who follow their filthy bodily lusts and despise God’s authority.

These false teachers are bold and arrogant, and show no respect for the glorious beings above; instead, they insult them. 13 They will be paid with suffering for the suffering they have caused. Pleasure for them is to do anything in broad daylight that will satisfy their bodily appetites; they are a shame and a disgrace as they join you in your meals, all the while enjoying their deceitful ways!

Jonathan Kalb – The Gospel According to Billy – Theater 31:3 Theater 31.3 (2001) 161-167 The Gospel According to Billy Jonathan Kalb [Figures] His pulpit, when he performs in theaters, is a red Village Voice distribution box stolen from a street corner, with his own picture displayed in the window.

He wears a clerical collar over a black shirt and a white dinner jacket, the bleached-blond tips of his Roy Orbison hairdo adding just the right touch to his uncannily accurate Jimmy Swaggart imitation. He rushes in, flashes a politician’s smile, and begins preaching to his typically hip downtown congregation of faithful nonbelievers:

“We believe in the God that people who don’t believe in God believe in. Hallelujah!”

This is Reverend Billy, a.k.a. Bill Talen, minister of the Church of Stop Shopping, and over the past few years his brand of mock evangelism poised on the border of real belief has risen to lucent prominence in the depressed landscape of radical theater in New York.

Talen is a self-sacrificial political gadfly, a theatrical species generally given up for dead in the United States — Alisa Solomon calls him “the Al Sharpton of the ultra-ironic yet politically committed downtown set”–and like his spiritual predecessors in the 1960s, he doesn’t confine himself to the controlled environments of auditoriums and playhouses.

    1. Chas routinely says “God Bless you, whatever you conceive of God to be”

    2. Chas also posts a agnostic prayer saying “deliver us from those who think they’re you”

    So…

What if someone conceives of themselves as God?

Sounds like Chas should be alright with that and the posting of something asking to be delivered from those that think themselves to be God is a bit judgemental on his part.

He really shouldn’t have a problem with someone thinking they are God if he actually believes all that crap he posts…

  348. Posted February 23, 2008 at 1:48 am | Permalink

“You choose not to answer any pointed questions about your faith which would leave you open to the same judgement you cast on me about mine.”

Judgment – notice the spelling, dumbass.

The only time that I have EVER questioned your faith is in regards to SCIENCE and the treatment of gays.

    That is it.

    Nothing else.

When faced with overwhelming scientific evidence, to fall back on Biblical (evidence?) stories is just wrong.

There is more than enough room for science and faith, but physical evidence cannot be ignored.

As for gays – only the most die hard HATERS believe that homosexuality is a choice.

Why not ask gay people what they think – each and everyone will stated without equivocation that it IS NOT a choice.

Reread all your notes and copied pages that you have a file on me – those are the only two issues that I have challenged you on, Price.

Hatred for those that are different than you and less fortunate than you. Preaching violence over peace, violence over tolerance, violence over understanding. Valuing wealth over human values.

    Disagreement?

How about seeing life in two totally and completely different ways?

    WS Clark,

Beyond simple disagreement and getting you riled up sometimes, I would never say or hope anything upon you like you do me.

The difference between you and I:

You are more concerned about running and saving yourself and hoping bad things upon others while I would be concerned with saving others and wishing good things for them.

    Character.

Something you obviously don’t have any of.

I may be more immature than you, but I have more character at my age than you have aspired to at yours.

Japan Launches High-Speed Communications Satellite Atop Rocket

    Saturday, February 23, 2008
    Associated Press

TOKYO — “Japan’s space agency said Saturday it launched a communications satellite designed to enable super high-speed data transmission.

Kizuna, developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. and JAXA, is designed to enable super high-speed communications of up to 1.2 gigabit-per-second to allow low-cost, easy access to information across Japan and in other parts of the Asia-Pacific region.”

    ——————

    Holy Moly! 1.2 gigabits-per-second!

    To compare:

Dial UP: 2400 bits per second (bps)

DSL: 128 Kbps to 8 Mbps
    8,000,000 bits per second

Cable: 512 to 20 mega bits per second (mbps)
    20,000,000 bits per second

    Wireless: 30 Mbps
    30,000,000 bits per second

Intranets on large corporate computers: 155 Mbps
    155,000,000 bits per second

New Kizuna Technology: 1,200,000,000,000 bits per second

That is some smoking hot speeds folks.

    Does NEPTUNE = Chas?

For the record, I never said I would shoot anyone because of my dogs.

As usual, the liberal lies get so twisted like a game of telephone to the point of absurdity.

I have never said any such thing about living in Kansas making me feel superior either.

I like living in Kansas because I feel like this is my home.

hank – fleettwood – we will check how she interacts with the kids. Not too worried about just knocking them down etc – they bounce pretty good. I would imagine at 11 months she will be pretty much full grown physically but still ’stupid’ – i.e. a teenager. We are told she is good with kids – don’t want one that will ‘react’ unduly to having a tail yanked etc. She will have a good-sized yard to run around in so should be happy that way.

My boys loved our old husky-mix mutt – they like big dogs they can play with and ‘abuse’ ;)

    Hey Chas,

    Socialism is not communism?

Here is the definition of socialism for your update in renewed learning:

so·cial·ism /?so????l?z?m/ Pronunciation Key – Show Spelled Pronunciation[soh-shuh-liz-uhm] Pronunciation Key – Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun 1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
    2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.
    3. (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

    OK Chas, now say “soh-shuh-liz-uhm”.

    Chas,

    So you completely refute:

    Marx

    Stalin

the former USSR (United Soviet Socialist Republic, a communist state)

the Communist Red China of today (a socialist state)

Or the communism of Cuba (a socialist society based on the Soviet model)

    Question:

What socialist state is working well today and would be your model of socialism?

You are not too far from the truth there, in the fact that we are moving toward socialism, i.e. like Canada is now.

My question is who, other than the USA, which is still a democratic republic today, is a succesful model of socialism today?

    Sugar,

Should we move to what Russia is moving to today?

They essentially are socialistic in their leadership (with Putin, former KGB, as the powerbroker), but they are also trying to take control of big business through capitalism and also have more military power in the world.

    Chas,

I said successful models of socialism.

I would question some of your answers above.

France? You’ve got to be kidding!

France is being overrun with muslims and they have been rioting in the streets. They are trying to take away all of the free benefits, because they can’t afford it anymore.

And you did not answer my questions above about refuting the governments I listed above.
