But the means to that uncertain end was a thing of beauty — Republicans and Democrats, coming together in record time to make a deal that Americans will feel in their pocketbooks. “I hope that this agreement will show the American people that we can fix it and will serve to move along other bipartisan agreements that we can have in the future,†said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio.
Only time and the next big task will tell.

And it was the dumbest thing the dems could have done! So much for complaining about the debt. This wouldn’t have happened if not for it being an election year. The dems didn’t want to get roped into being the bad guys by refusing this. And that’s the worst reason to do it.

They moved this time because it is coming up on an election year and the gridlock they have shown in the past has overshadowed everything they have done.
Hopefully they will listen to what the voters want, not what back room deals they want to make.

Speaking of books, this reminds me of a conversation I once had with one of those professional sales managers who’s risen from the ranks by virtue of his ability to sell Frigidaires to Eskimos.
He was dissing one of his peers who’d won a sales award for heavily discounted switches when he said, “Yeah, X is a great salesman when he’s sellin’ outta his checkbook.”
The point being that everybody looks like a hero when s/he’s giving away money. Which is what happened here.

I’m ready for a revolution. We all talk about these elected “officials” and openly acknowledge what they think about first is being reelected. It’s past time to UNelect these yahoos. If WE THE PEOPLE don’t pay closer attention and hold them accountable the biggest idiots are WE THE PEOPLE.
Read the letter from Tiahrt in today’s paper and really ask yourself what in the world did he say in that lengthy letter. When you realize he said absolutely nothing and reading the words was a total waste of time, the next question should be why in the world does he deserve to be reelected. Voting to keep him, who has proven to be a BIG part of the BIG problems, doesn’t make YOU the voter very smart!
