Think about it, government types are easy, they have to comply with the open records laws. Reporting real news means the Eagle would actually have to have a few relationships and be involved at a much deeper level. I'm not saying reporters are lazy, but maybe they pay too much attention to the low hanging fruit.

As opposed to whom, "annonymous?" --

Clint Bowyer, the NASCAR driver?

He's a good kid, drives a car in circles better than most, and comes from a good family. (I grew up with his parents.)

But he's sold out to the corporate interests of NASCAR because, in George WMD Bush's America, selling out to corporations is the way to go.

Wichita used to be a center of entrepreneurship -- from Clyde Cessna to Coleman to Pizza Hut -- but the community has been reduced to a backwater branch-office town because the cons steadfastly refuse to support independent thinking.

So maybe the "liberal" (hah!) Wichita Eagle looks for some new ideas and finds "government bureaucrats" the most innovative thinkers. Can you come up with any other examples of Kansans supporting innovative thinking in any other realm of enterprise?

Quit sniping at the Eagle's choices unless you can presnt a list of 10 non-governmental Kansans who've been given even a modicum of encouragment by this far-too-backward state's power structure.

Or bitch.

You're much better at that, after all.

Given the Eagle Editorial Board's love of big government, it's not surprising that this list is dominated by government bureaucrats.
