Low public opinion of government may go deeper than Congress and the president. As Kansas legislators get back to work this week in Topeka, they should be mindful of where the Legislature scored in a new Survey USA poll, conducted for KWCH, Channel 12 — 34 percent approval, 46 percent disapproval. The disapproval was even greater among Wichitans and blacks (55 percent), and men, liberals and independents (52 percent), but 43 and 44 percent of Republicans and conservatives, respectively, disapprove of the GOP-controlled Legislature, too.

Destroy ALL incumbents.
Tired of the same old partisanship b.s..
Of course they are spending our money on some of their pet projects. I fear more socialism and nanny state laws.
As their employers (a fact most of them seem unaware of) we have found their performance lacking and the list of “needs improvement” long.
Nobody asked them to run, they should have known the job requirements before asking for the job and they should have had the skills the job required.
So if they don’t have the skills, they aren’t accomplishing the job, and don’t even remember who is boss WHAT IS THERE TO APPROVE OF??
Crowson’s cartoon was accurate describing the climate in Topeka.
The poll although appears to pinpointed a question, appears to have 100 out of 500 as not sure.
I would have been interested in knowing what percentage of those who participated in the poll, actually voted in the general election.
Then, of course, they send the same uneducated, Republican morons back…especially in a presidential election year.
When the poll was conducted were callers asked if they KNEW the elected officals were STATE and not Federal? I have found when discussing state issues or legislators with folks they think the elected officals are in Washington!
Most Kansans don’t know the state legislature is only in session for 90 days! If that were the case in this poll, then the poll would not be an accurate understanding of how Kansans view their state legislators! Of course, if the poll helped spin in favor of Kathleen Sebelius, and boosts the Dem’s in the state, then the poll accomplished what channel 12 had in mind when wording the poll in such a way to disparage the Republican controlled legislature!
“Then, of course, they send the same uneducated, Republican morons back…especially in a presidential election year.”
Hee hee hee. Aint it the truth, MrC, aint it the truth.
I dont suppose the dithering and the nonsense of the Peggy Masts of the world has anything to do with this disapproval?
Our water is being wasted, big ag is breaking the state treasury, our schools such and the state’s economy continues to tank.
Good job, repukes in the legislature and governor leadership. The destruction of this state is almost complete. One more session ought to do it.
And the band plays on in topeka while the sheeple sleep….
I guess we should at least be glad folks “disapprove”. Now, if all those “disapprovers” would just get off their asses and on the ballots and into the voting booths.
Oh yeah, I forgot. This is Kansas, where people think frownin’ and bitchin’ is the same as DOING something….
But hey, we still have the ghost of joe’s prayer and the bible thumpers in charge, so all must be right with the state.
