GOP legislative leaders undermined their own goal of holding the growth in the state budget to 5 percent by asking the governor to boost the Legislature’s operating funds by 20 percent next year, $16.4 million to $19.7 million, for a “computer strategic plan.†The extra money would pay for high-tech upgrades related to Webcasting, public broadcasting and more. No doubt the needs are real, but shouldn’t self-professed budget restraint begin at home?

“No doubt the needs are real, but shouldn’t self-professed budget restraint begin at home?”
You got to be kidding! Check this years earmarks.
After watching Cspan I can not understand why anyone in Government would WANT the people to be able to see them. Shoot if it was me I would want to wear a mask and hood! Have a number instead of a name and live in another state. No such things do not serve the States and only put on a dog and pony show.
What are they thinking?
“Shoot if it was me I would want to wear a mask and hood!”
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Writerdog, you just SLAY me sometimes.
heheheheheheheh!
I don’t know of any politician who doesn’t want to raise something for what they think is a good reason.
Rhonda I can not believe that you are so stupid. I continue to think that you are just a mouth piece for the elitists at the Eagle. The Eagle’s management is so intellectually dishonest that it is laughable. The Eagle refused to interview Jim Morrison, Chairman of teh House Govt. Technology & Efficiency Committee when he spoke at the Pachyderm Club two months ago. Interestingly Morrision stated that he had a stack of documents involving corruption of Wichita district court judges inlcding a bribe. The Eagle’s management does not want the public to know this.
The extra $3,000,000 would allow every legislative hearing to be televised over the internet either live or after the fact from the state’s file server. The brilliant government reform specialist, Rep. Jim Morrision is he architect for the push to use technology to promote transparency & acocuntability in he state legislative process to minimize the ability of the fascist media to censor. The Eagle is against this because they want to filter, control & spin the information that we receive. If we are able to listen to the hearings and the expert witnesses, we will be able to form our own opinions and will not need to rely on the wise and education Eagle reporters to spout out their opinions on the Wichita Eagle blogs or to write powder puff pieces about corrupt attorneys & SRS officials. I’m sure Rhonda would rather spend the extra $3,000,000 on more state grants to allow do-gooders to form commissions to hire PhDs to study the problems.

Bill McKean you are such a fool. Just sit down and be quite. Jim Morrison is the only legislator that has given you the time of day becasue you are known as a kook.
