Congratulations and good luck to Six

sixstephen.jpgIt’s good to see the Kansas attorney general’s office in new and seemingly capable hands today. Former Douglas County District Judge Stephen Six was sworn in this morning, raising hopes that the office finally can have some relief from the unbecoming behavior and anti-abortion activism of the past two attorneys general. “As attorney general, I promise to serve with integrity and independence as I face the challenges ahead,” Six said. Kansans are counting on it.

“Oh golly oh golly, I think I’ll just sit in my office and do nothing. Don’t want to actually enforce the laws like that evil bad guy Kline. But don’t want to have an affair. I’ll be in my office.”

Sebelius must have done a thorough background check on Six. A second scandal would be even more embarassing

Grand juries will now decide whether we should have any regard for the heretofore unenforced abortion laws enacted by our ELECTED state legislators, as well as any regard for human life and dignity. Six is indeed a puppet, it would seem, probably appointed because he hasn’t campaigned for elected office at all, and so is not suspected of taking blood-stained campaign “donations” from abortionist quacks.

Six has made a few political contributions:

Did $750 to Sebelius help get Six the Seventh? (Jan 4, 2005)
    http://www.kansasmeadowlark.com/2005/01-04.htm

The only other political contributions were $50 to “moderate” Republican John Vratil from Johnson County, and $150 to Democrat Troy Findley for State Rep District 46. (Findley replaced Joyce Allegrucci as Sebelius’ Chief of Staff — http://www.governor.ks.gov/news/NewsRelease/2005/nr-05-0715a.html) So, Six has a friend in the Governor’s office.

Six’s FEC contributions include $250 to Dennis Moore in 2000, $250 to Mel Carnahan in Missouri in 2000, and $250 to the Kansas Democratic State Committee in 2004.

Six worked for the very liberal KC law firm, Shamberg, Johnson & Bergman until Sebelius appointed him to the bench in 2005. Principals of the law firm have given tens of thousands to Democratic party and candidates.

Six’s dad, a retired Supreme Court judge, opposes Kansas Senate confirmation of Kansas Supreme Court judicial appointments.

Somewhat surprisingly, Six’s wife is a Republican but likely a “moderate.” Six’s Republican mother-in-law contributed to Morrison and Boyda.
