“I’m getting tired of Change. I think it’d be nice, for a change, if a candidate came out against Change, maybe with a catchy slogan like, ‘Remember: It Could Get Worse,’ or ‘Hey, at Least You’re Not Dead.’â€

If that’s the best a national columnist can do, he should be sent back to his office and replaced with a university journalism student.
America agrees with him. We all b%*@h and moan about how things have “gone down hill” here in America (and the world). Well, so what? Obviously we deserve any and all crap we are handed. As most on here only want to argue the Liberal/Conservative crap (as if there is a difference) and never take a step back. This country is collectively insane. I see and hear a lot of comments about how Ron Paul is insane (or a rascist) but it’s the country itself that is insane. Einstein said that repeating the same thing over and over again is the definition of insanity. Well here we are again in America, repeating the same thing again. We’ll always fall for the lies of this new one, because he’s got such charisma and his hair is impeccable. Either he will “bring change to Washington” or else he is a good minister or a “straight talker”. Over and over and over again. So as that idiot Sean Hannity likes to babble on about, I’m blaming America first. I blame the insane people of this country (on both sides) for not taking any steps and not having the courage to better your own lives. I’m blaming America for our impending economic disaster and I’m blaming America for ten or more years of war. Is each soldiers’ death in Iraq considered a martyrdom for some insane “Armageddon, end o’ the world, us against them” Yahushua philosophy? If you idiots want the end of the world, then just put me out of my Earthly misery and just push the friggin’ button. Or do you have to fulfill the prophesies with 7 years of complete misery? And you “libs”, why is everyone a rascist or bigot or homophobe because they don’t agree with your definitions of the same? Each side wants to fight over the most inane arguments instead of getting back to constitutional freedom first. After that, I could care less about what you do or what you look like. But as long as you people keep doing the same all over again, I’ll call you insane and I’ll blame you first.
Jwink…you should read the entire Dave Barry article. It is side splittingly hilarious!
I suspect JWink didn’t catch on to the fact that Barry is a satirist.
Pleefer,
While I agree with you on many points above, I disagree that it’s the people who are insane. Lazy would be better. We have allowed our country to be taken and run by those who have the power and $$$ to buy others. Yes, on both sides of the aisle.
All,
Would someone tell me who the Juvenile is? I’ve been busy and haven’t had time to read every thread and every comment. It sure would help to know. Thanks.
I just reread my above post…oops.
Einstein’s definition of insanity is:
Repeating the same thing over and over again expecting new results.
And RD I agree, we are a lazy and complacent lot.
RD –
The juvenile is someone’s (Hank?) substitute nickname for JR.
And he’s hit it about right.
Until everything is perfect for everybody, we’ll just have to keep changing; the lawyers will see to that. Of course if everything is perfect for everybody else, the lawyers will be out of a job and they’ll just have to start all over achieving perfection, which will make everything imperfect for everyone, and we’ll just have to change.
Oh, and if the more things change, the more they stay the same, does that mean that the politicians who are most against change the ones who end up changing the most? If that’s the case, then all conservatives are really closet liberals, and vice versa. Curiouser and curiouser…..
