Another national nod for popular governor

sebeliushandsup.jpgGov. Kathleen Sebelius is no rip-roaring orator, so it’s a bit of a surprise that national Democratic Party officials would invite her to deliver the party’s response to President Bush’s State of the Union address on Jan. 28. But it makes sense, given Congress’ poor approval ratings, to find someone beyond the Beltway to speak for Democrats. In a joint statement, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., praised Sebelius as a “forward-thinking, solutions-oriented Democratic leader.” And whether or not Kansas Republicans will admit it, Sebelius is a rising national figure whose status as a popular two-term Democratic governor of a heavily Republican state uniquely qualifies her for the prominent job.

I cant think of a safer, more bland, and more REPUBLICAN democrat to do the job. And obviously, neither can Nancy, “I heart Bush’s policies” Pelosi.

Heheheh. Governor “leadership” is indistinguishable from garden variety Washington Democrats. DLC all the way.

And we are surprised by her selection? I dont think so…

    “forward-thinking, solutions-oriented Democratic leader”

    Woof.

Any examples of that “forward-thinking”? Other than sucking up water for irrigation and ethanol?

And examples of the “solutions” they speak of?

    I thought not…

And WTF is an “innovation economy”?

The majority in this state dont even believe in evolution. But good luck with that innovation thingy…. I’m sure technolgy entreprenuers are just beating down the door to come to Kansas.

“And WTF is an ‘innovation economy’”?

One where you make do without any money?

    Heh, Steven!

Now THAT would indeed be innovation. However, that sounds more like melvin’s wet dream. A state government that spends NO money and collects NO money.

    big effin’ eye roll

See Mr C’s comment yesterday about sending the same dumbass repukes back to topeka year after year after year after year….

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is not only a definition of insanity, it’s the Kansas Republcan WAY!

I would guess wine production or grape growing are NOT part of an “innovation economy”?

I’m still waiting to hear what she means by that.

And how, in the land of wingnuttia, she intends to create such an economy.

    (crickets chirping)

SURELY she isnt pandering to all the economic development types she pissed off about Holcomb? Oh say it isnt so, governor “leadership”.

Well if Pelosi had great things to say about her she must be a piece of dog excrement. We already know this of course.

So what is the innovative economy? Surely the supporters of governor leadership should be able to answer that.

    Or….

Like I’ve come to expect from sebelius, it’s just empty rhetoric? A little phrase that sounds nice, means less, and commits her or the state to nothing?

Pelosi refuses to help investigators regarding Mark Foley.

Yet another reason sebelius and the DLC should be ever so proud to have Pelosi’s support.

She might make a good running mate for Obama if he wins the primary. Having her as VP would effectively shut out any charges of sexism and would bring dissappointed white women back in the fold after a Hillary defeat. And frankly she would make a better President than Hillary would.

There is this little function on your computer called “scroll over”.

You should learn to use it, especially on my posts.

And I STILL havent heard any of the sebelius bots explain what an innovation econony is or how governor “leadership” intents to foster it.

or… as I noted before… is it just more pretty language?

    Still waiting….

Kansas has a lot to be proud of in Kathleen Sebelius. She is a bright spot in a state full of dim-witted conservatives. I am very proud to have her as our governor, and hope that she goes on to bigger, better roles. She is too talented to remain here.

Still no answers to my questions. Just a little rah rah.

Tell ya what Jeff, I’d be HAPPY to send her on, and out of the state. Then…

Maybe we could have a governor address some sane water policy for the state?
