The new Murfin Animal Care Campus, which had its groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, is a great public and private partnership. The Wichita Animal Shelter and Kansas Humane Society are building new facilities next to each other at K-96 and Hillside in order to better coordinate their work and reduce duplication. The new, larger facilities also will enable better care of animals and help more of them be adopted. “This is streamlining of services that will help to save thousands of animal lives,†said Kim Janzen, president and chief executive of the Humane Society. Well done.

This is good news. The primary mission they are on is that no adoptable dog need be put down for lack of shelter or a home. A long needed compensation for dogs who have done and continue to do so much for humanity.
Well done, Kim, Karla, and everyone else behind this!
