Among Reason magazine writer David Weigel’s list of “six botched predictions†for 2007 was this at No. 4: “Sam Brownback will matter.†Weigel said the reason “Kansas’ born-again Catholic fundamentalist†fizzled in the GOP presidential race, ceding his presumed base to Mike Huckabee, is that “Brownback had no personality, and Huckabee could sell bottled water to Amy Winehouse. Republicans proved more interested in an evangelical candidate they liked than an evangelical candidate with ideas.â€

Brownback has his sites set on being Kansas’s governor yet he consistently ignores the 70-80% of Kansans.
He is an elitist insider who we need to get replaced ASAP.
Now here I go referring to Hillary, damn me for being born a Republican! LOL Recently Hillary said that people are not looking for who would be best for the Presidency. They are looking for who can win the election. Sad statement, that it is a popularity contest instead of who would be a good guiding force for the nation. And what blows me away is this is said in a very public way and no one is calling her on it? But it does appear to be true, the majority seem to not want the best but someone that simply tells them what they want to hear and look good doing it. Have we become so shallow that is the reality?
We need a listener as a Governor. How can Brownback be Governor if he is not available to listen??? He is another personal agenda politician. A vacated idiotic troll who is only self babtised in stupidity. We are the only ones that are even more stupid thatn he is. We emember that he is never around and does nothing for us. Yet we vote for this dumd@$$!!! Lets smarten up, vote him out!! Herbert West III, Publisher/Journalist. west.herb@yahoo.com
Brownback forgot the number one rule while being a setting member of the government and being a Presidential candidate. Don’t forget your day job! If I had to say anything positive about any of the candidates is Mc Cain, Obama, Paul and many of the other have not missed they responsibility for the most part.
The article said Brownback had ideas? Apart from the usual Republican ideas of tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts for corporations, increases on taxes for the middle class and poor, cutting social services, funding a never ending occupation in the Middle East, keeping unbalanced trade agreements, hating gays, denying the science of evolution and global warming, what ideas did he have that were new?
heeeeeeeeeeeeeeee….
“The article said Brownback had ideas?”
I had the same thought when I read it. Good post Doug!
Brownback is a pretender, not a contender. Go get a church Brownback, forget Kansas.
We Libs kept saying that Brownback was on the off ramp to nowhere.
We were right.
DougIt is hard to give tax cuts to people who don’t pay taxes.
The top 50% in wage earners pay over 96% of the income tax, in this country.
Also, our corporate tax rates are higher than the corporate rates in Europe.
Brownbacks only idea was a wide open border.
Gotta keep them illegals busting meat packers unions ya know.
Paul, I’m so glad you insist I don’t pay income taxes. Next time the IRS or the KS Dept. of Revenue comes a calling I’ll just mail them a check written out by you to cover my income taxes.
