Boyda could do without Clinton coattails

Boyda In a New York Times article Tuesday, Rep. Nancy Boyda, D-Topeka, exemplified some congressional Democrats’ private angst over the prospect of having their fates tied to Hillary Clinton next year. The thinking is that Clinton’s name on the Kansas ballot would fire up the conservative GOP base and boost turnout, hurting Boyda, who is being targeted by Treasurer Lynn Jenkins and former Rep. Jim Ryun. Boyda didn’t take the Times’ bait, though: “It is something I have no control over, quite honestly. They will demonize any Democrat who becomes the nominee. I just put my head down and work.”

Boyda needs to worry about her OWN record. As a Dem, I’m HIGHLY unhappy with her and just might vote for Lynn Jenkins.

But she’s right, doesn’t matter who is on the ticket, the repubs will come back to the smear tactics of the swift boaters.

Jenkins and Boyda both are Personal Agenda Politicians. They would and do mess up Kansas. Jenkins launders KPERS and State funds. Boyda bribes the State with stolen Federal Funds. Jenkins covers this up. Vote non of the above. Insist on a Racketeering Audit into Kansas Politics, I did!!! Herbert West III, Publisher/Journalist, P.S. I listened to a speech by Nancy during her campaign. She strongly chastised the republicans in congress for: #1 failing to pass the basic appropriation bills which keep the government running #2 wasting time on needless legislation and tying up vital legislation #3 Wasting taxpayers money on pork.::I listened to her, agreed, and voted for her. One of my first democrat votes! I threw the rascal Ryun out.::Now, a year later, Boyda is GUILTY OF EVERY SINGLE THING SHE ACCUSED THE REPUBLICANS OF DOING OR NOT DOING.

So guess what guys. Next election, she will get the same treatment Ryun received.

Throw the rascals out – regardless of party!!!!

    11-7-07,

    To: Congresswoman Nancy Boyda,

Thank you for being the LONE Kansas Co-Sponsor of the Save act introduced by Rep. Shuler.

The principle behind Attrition Through Enforcement is that living illegally in the United States will become more difficult and less satisfying over time when the government – at ALL LEVELS – enforces all of the laws already on the books. It is also imperative that the government with the full cooperation of the private sector, implements certain workplace enforcement measures. The goal is to make it extremely difficult for unauthorized persons to live and work in the United States. There is no need for taxpayers to watch the government spend billions of their dollars to round up and deport illegal aliens; they will buy their own bus or plane tickets back home if they can no longer earn a living here.

We know Attrition Through Enforcement works because, in states that have passed tough new laws to penalize employers of and deny public benefits to illegal aliens, the illegal aliens began to move out of those states, often before the new laws are even implemented.

There is no better word of mouth advertising than having some return to their homeland and tell their friends and family that they have to use the legal immigration system to work in the USA.

Once again, we thank you for your support of this enforcement legislation. Hopefully the other representatives of Kansas will join you in this support for common sense legislation.

I have NEVER voted for a democrat. but Nancy Boyda would be the FIRST if I was in her district. She is independent and works for all Kansans. We wish all our US Represenatives and Senators would do the same.

Boyda is certainly representing the values of desires of the 2nd congressional district. as a liberal democrat, i’m not happy with her stance on immigration or off shore drilling, but I know her stances are similar to those of the majority of the people in her district.

    She’s representing the majority excellently

    Please.

Hardly a landslide or huge majority. 51% to 47% Ryun. A slim margin of 7,000 votes.

If not for the republican majority registered voters, who switched sides, Nancy would still be with Toto.

The election was hardly a mandate for anything. Ho-hum.

Bill Clinton has such a great coat tail effect, why wouldn’t Hillary?

Who wouldn’t want to be close buddies with Hillary?

Two months later, after two years of Democratic Party control under Clinton’s leadership, the mid-term elections in 1994 proved disastrous for the Democrats. This was the first time the Democratic Party had lost control of both houses of Congress in 40 years.

In the 1996 presidential election, Clinton was re-elected, receiving 49.2% of the popular vote over Republican Bob Dole (40.7% of the popular vote) and Reform candidate Ross Perot (8.4% of the popular vote), becoming the first Democrat to win reelection to the presidency since Franklin Roosevelt. The Republicans lost a few seats in the House and gained a few in the Senate, but overall retained control of the Congress. Clinton received 379, or over 70% of the Electoral College votes, with Dole receiving 159 electoral votes.

The day Boyda voted with Republicans because she said something like “Bush was elected by the people so that’s what the people want”…I could have tossed my cookies. Boyda got into office to effect change, not to defend the status quo. And certainly not to defend Bush.

boyda has effected change…anyone who is paying any attention at all can see that.

she’s representing her district- even the crazy conservatives- better than they have been ever before. Ryun never made a move on NAFTA or illegal immigration- Boyda has and she’s only been there a year.

Good luck with that Jason. The conservatives are pulling away. Moving back to the flock.

When the top democrat candidates all speak of raising taxes – katy bar the door because conservatives are united on that front.

We don’t like our pocket picked.

    47/51%. No independent this time.

We are galvanized and actively working to see Nancy Boyda returned to oz.
