Neufeld came late to pro-wine party

Neufeld When it comes to the issue of the wine joke gone bad, the office of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius understands that less is more. Still, spokeswoman Nicole Corcoran was right to bring a good piece of information to our attention regarding Tuesday’s pro-wine tour of Wyldewood Cellars in Mulvane by Kansas House Speaker Melvin Neufeld, R-Ingalls, and other lawmakers. In May 2006, Neufeld voted against the bill that now allows Kansas wines to be shipped to customers out of state and sold at the Kansas State Fair. “I do hope all this increased attention so far actually translates into good news for our wine industry,” Corcoran said. We’ll drink to that.

After Melvin Neufeld partakes in a few fine plastic cups full of Kansas wine he will be slobbering out of both sides of his mouth instead of just talking out of both sides of his mouth.

Don’t the Repubs have a term for pols like Melvin – hum, uh, wafflers?

Neufeld is NOT pro wine! He’s just trying to take a shot at the gov lady. He has never done anything for the wine industry..except vote against it. Not christian to drink you know.

Actually, that’s wrong. It’s not Christian to drink to excess nor is it Christian to do anything to excess that would put your life devoted to Christ in compromise.

Perhaps the Government statement did more good than harm in this case. I bet more bottles of Kansas wine will be given as presents this year and served at Kansas tables.

    So maybe a good thing…

So, Neufield voted against wine before he decided he was for it.

    Weak, weak, weak, weak.

Not Neufeld, but all of the posts above and for Rhonda taking the Gov’s bait.

So Neufeld voted against a bill about transporting wine. He didn’t publicly insult Kansas wine and wine makers.

Neufeld represents the people in his district and as a representative he votes for that district. As the speaker of the house he represents the entire state.

He was not the one who made the moronic “joke.”

Using Rhonda’s and Nicole’s logic, if Neufeld had voted for out of state shipping and for wine at the state fair, he it would be okay to make critical statements about the Kansas wine industry?

    Typical liberals: Blame someone else.

Our governor committed a terrible breach of conduct and spoke negatively about a growing and viable business in our state.

All you guys can think to do – is point fingers at someone else.

    Deplorable!
