Straight talker, straight shooter?

John McCain’s vow to follow Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell has become a signature line. He embellished it this week, telling more than 100 employees at a New Hampshire gun factory that he’d “bring Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell and shoot him with one of your products.”
After the applause, he added, “But only after he receives justice.” Then he said later to reporters, “I wouldn’t actually shoot him myself.”

Is this anything like the promise George W. Bush made after 9/11 to capture Bin Laden? If so, then we will never see the day John McCain follows through with his promise either.

McCain talks a bit like the politicians of old – somewhat gruff, often crude and the ability to step on his own tongue.

He’s well meaning, but the delicate of today’s crowd are too easily offended and their feelings will get hurt if he talks that way.

He has proven to say exactly what it takes to get elected (or desperately attempt to be elected). That changes with the audience and changing what he needs to say has been no problem since he has no ideals, no integrity. He can’t even stand up against torture. He is a political whore.

His comment sounded like a pure Bushism.

You know I would actually gain a little more respect for McCain (or even Bush) if they were to personally capture and/or kill bin Laden.

What happen to the real old-school leaders, kings, and presidents that lead their troops into battle both literally and figuratively

A sad, pandering old man, shouting into the wind.

Time for your curtain call, Senator McCain.

Better then a lying, campaign finance law-breaking old woman farting in the wind.

Brian- Relax, Max is getting confused by being pithy and being pissy. He’s doing the best he can.

McCain’s Straight Talk Express has slowly morphed into the Pander Wagon. He is desperate and will say anything at this point to lift his poor standing in the polls. Deciding to hitch your wagon to the Iraq wars and the failed policies of the Bush administration may appease the small percentage of people that still think Saddam was responsible for 9/11, the rest of the country has woken up and now sees the neocons for the lying scumbags that they are. It is actually amusing to see the death throes of the GOP and the efforts of the candidates to win the battle of the most macho, war loving, gay hating member of the party.

I don’t think any other than himself find Max’s comments pithy.Certainly nailed it with pissy, though.
