Romney gets his foes confused

If this was a strategic slip of Mitt Romney’s tongue, it was a beaut:
“Just look at Osam . . . Barack Obama said just yesterday. Barack Obama calling on, on radicals, jihadists of all different types to come together in Iraq,” Romney said Tuesday during a speech in Greenwood, S.C. More than once, he also said “Barack Obama” when he was talking about Osama bin Laden.
His campaign later called it “just a brief mix-up,” but it called to mind the shot of Romney posing in July with a supporter holding a sign reading, “No to Obama, Osama and Chelsea’s Moma.”

It doesn’t sound like a slip of the tongue, more like a slip of the mind.

It’s one of those faux pauxs you should never make during an election. The fact is, unfortunately that Obama and Osama rhyme, and when you talk about both of them in the same sentence, it is easy to say the wrong word. I don’t hold this against Romney.

However, I would hold against him his views that seem to place Obama and Osama in the same sentence WAY too frequently in comparison.

By the way, someone should have told that woman in the photo how to spell Mama. It’s fitting though isn’t it? The dumb ones always support the farthest right.

Does the hilarious video show Kennedy doing it more than once?

I’ve done it, but I’m nobody. One should expect more from a Presidential candidate, but than again these are Republicans. :)

A sad commentary on the leading Republican contender…or wait is it Rudy that is the leading contender? Mitt, a man who’s religion teaches that women should be subservient or Rudy who has had three wives and very public liaisons with other women.

The “female” vote needs to look elsewhere. These men are not capable of providing the foresight and collaboration that a leader of the 21st century must have in the White House.

Romney made no mistake. Several Talk Radio hosts have intentionally attempted to confuse Obama and Osama, for the sole purpose of trying to equate Obama with Islamic religion, when in fact, he is not Islamic, and never has been. Romney knewe full well what he was doing. He is a man of scripted statements. Of course, when he found out it was offensive, he naturally tries to play down his “confusing” comments.

Public speaking is hard, and these names are not easy.

It would be a whole lot easier to let this go as “misspeaking” if it were not for the concentrated wingnut strategy, beginning MONTHS ago, to associate Obama with Ossama in the publics’ minds.

What little minds they have anyway.

If the wingnuts hadnt worked so hard to do just that, it wouldnt be stuck in Romney’s small mind either.

Macaca Romney. I like the sound of that…

Gotta agree that Romney is the victim of his own side’s smear campaign against Obama.

The glee with which talk radio debated Obama’s middle name Hussein. The blurring of his last name with the first of bin Laden etc.

Mistake? Get serious! Or have you forgotten this same part of the Rovian strategy that put the Idiot One in the White House. And how his enunciation phobia magically cleared up once he was elected.

This was no mistake on Romney’s part; it was (mean and ugly and not surprising) s-t-r-a-t-e-g-y. Care to fall for it – again?

Proof positive that religion has no business whatsoever in politics.

Is it hard to always carry the mantle of perfection? Hell, I bet you even sleep standing up! Maybe – you don’t sleep at all!!!

Shall I mine your writing for misspellings? You must be careful – some of those misspellings might signal some “secret sign.”

Good God. “Affirm the patterns, he writes.” Must be that dreaded “vast right-wing conspiracy” at work again.

In fact, of course, CF’s response tells us much more about CF than Romney’s misspeak tells us of Romney. The only “pattern affirmed” here is the same rampant paranoia expressed yesterday.

Romney is just a pretty boy that the Republicans thought would wow the Conservative Christians (didn’t happen) and the women (has not happened).

Besides, Romney tries to act nice but deep down he is as mean as a snake and I do not believe it was a mis-speak on his part. He knows exactly what he is doing. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing in the wrong hands.

See, if Obama and Osama both had the first names that rhymed, then you might have an argument. Christians are not required to vote for Christians.

Some misguided Christians might argue otherwise, just like some misguided libs (like you for instance) might argue otherwise.

However, in politics, we are hiring people to do a job. It is the job we expect them to do that dictates our vote for or against.

The faith that motivates the execution of that job? Important but not the only factor, and not a controlling factor.

It is NOT your place to tell anyone how to vote based on their own religious views. Especially if you do not hold the same religious views.

I wouldn’t vote for Romney even if it were for code enforcement officer for Park City! If he can’t see the difference between Obama and Osama then he shouldn’t EVEN be considered for the office of the President of the United States! What he did just goes to show you what a goof ball he is! He may have tons of money but he has goop between the ears! Also, he’s in that group who had “other” plans in their decision not to attend the debate hosted by Blacks last month! If those candidates can jump at the chance to debate in front of such groups as the NRA, then they should travel to a debate sponsored by a Black coalition. After all, we too are American citizens! No! They will NOT get my vote! Especially Mitt Romney!!!
