Obama not eager to go hunting with his cousin

"I don’t want to be invited to the family hunting party," Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., jokedWednesday night to Jay Leno about news that Obama and Vice President Dick Cheney are distant cousins. And on Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., acting as if she is the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, Obama told Leno that Clinton wasn’t the first person in Washington, D.C., to declare "mission accomplished" a little too soon.

“Obama and Vice President Dick Cheney are distant cousins.”

    Priceless!

I do feel a little sorry for Dick though. A gay daughter and a black cousin. Could things get any worse for him? I pray they do! :)

As much as I like Obama, I’m just not sure I could bring myself to vote for anybody even distantly related to the Bush administration and Cheney in particular!

Obama’s first response to the news: “Thank God there’s no family resemblance!!”

I happen to be a cousin to Abraham Lincoln myself.

    Know your blogger.

Heh heh. It would be nice to know the context of the relation. Maybe a Thomas Jefferson similar thing?

I would recommend that you never run for office. You’re not politically correct enough.

Personally, I liked his comment referring to “mission accomplished”. That was funny. I still haven’t made up my mind who I am voting for, so I don’t like someone assuming they have it in the bag, even Senator Clinton.

You have nothing to worry about, Kansas. I’ve never aspired to something that low. ;)

I thought his mom was Phillipino.

    Maybe that is Tiger Woods.

    I don’t follow Obama alot.

Running for President because people thought you did well in one speech doesn’t much impress me.

JR,Next to a president who’s misspoken every speech he ever gave, it can’t hurt to have one really good speech under your belt.

Maybe you think that because you just admitted you’re not really paying attention?

Barack Obama, Tiger Woods, what the hell, they all look the same to you, I guess!

I have not seen where it has been said. Is Cheney and Obama related through his mother’s side or his father’s?

Obama’s signature is helping to raise money for a very worthy cause:

    Early prediction: Obama sucks.

He will not even be close to Billary in the election.

It’s nearly midnight, and liberals have scrolled over this thread.

The media has decided for them. The party has decided for them.

    It’s Hillary!!!

I am a 3rd cousin of Obama. His mother is from Wichita, however they moved to Augusta while she was quite young. My father and his mother would play together. She married a man from Hawaii. I am not sure the exact nationality. BUT get your facts correct before you make ignorant comments.
