If he’s dead, just prop him up and put some dark glasses on him like, like ‘Weekend at Bernie’s.’”

Instead, Greenspan was so afraid of inflation that he risked one two many recessions.
Again, folks, I knew long ago that McCain would not do well in the Primary.
The media loves McCain when he is picking on Republicans. Once he started picking on Democrats, well, the Media has no use for him.

Sympathies for McCain for what he must have suffered as a POW.

The Social Security Tax is “regressive” it only taxes working, labor involved income, there is a cap on how much of your earnings can be taxed. It is, in fact, a “Flat Tax.”
Furthermore, it is NOT possible for the “excess” to actually benefit Social Security, as the money, by law, must be “invested” in Treasury Bonds, if not spent on benefits.
Of course, all money “invested” is immediately spent.
So, Social Security IS a mess, and Greenspan was wrong about how to “fix” it.
However, he was RIGHT to support tax rate cuts, which INCREASED revenues.
OJRRush Limbaugh has shown more REAL support for the military than virtually any Democrat that you can name.

You all know I’m NOT a fan of today’s Republican Party leaders and what bushco has done to harm the Party. I truly believe what once was great and best about the Republicans has been greatly damaged both by bushco and the Far right. Just as the FAR left isn’t advantageous to the Democratic Party. I’m old enough to have voted Republican as often as I’ve voted Democratic. I’m old enough to remember when both fielded great patriots as candidates.
All that said, I was once a fan of John McCain. I thought he might be the person who could bring us together as a country. He disappointed me when he allowed bushco to drag him through mud during the presidential campaigns but I gave him that one and excused it by thinking him humble and not willing to tout himself to save his reputation.
When he caved in and bowed to bushco on The Patriot Act he lost me forever. I think he might be a good man but he wants the power of the presidency too bad. Anyone who can prostitute themselves like he has can’t lead our country!

Actually, Greenspan did a very credible job. He made mistakes, yes, but when you’re dealing with a multi trillion dollar economy, it’s impossible to weigh all the risks. To think otherwise is just plain ignorant.
