Look what you started, Hillary

Hillary Clinton revolutionized the role of candidate’s wife 15 years ago. Now, as columnist Kathleen Parker noted, she’s up against those who follow in her footsteps. Oh, and their husbands’.
Elizabeth Edwards is more aggressive than her husband in challenging the other candidates. And Michelle Obama has been rallying the troops in Iowa and elsewhere.
But it’s not just the Democrats’ wives on the campaign trail. Ann Romney has launched a Web site that paints a warm, close-knit picture of her husband and family.
Meanwhile, Clinton’s own spouse has tried to take a quiet role so far — as much as that’s possible for Bill.

If Bill goes on the campaign trail to help Hillary…we’ll vote for Bill.

I think it’s great that first spouses can and do play a more vocal role. I hope the days are gone where the woman is expected to stand looking all supportive of their more capable man. I would be thrilled to have any of those women as President! The adoring supporting husband can stand back and applaud his wife. We should have more of that.

I agree with Sally Field when she stated at the awards show that if mothers ran the world, there would be less ______ wars.

We have let the men run the world for years, why not let the women give it a shot?

Honestly, I don’t know if Hillary is the right person for the presidency but put her up against any of the Republican men and she has my vote.

I agree. Give strong, independnt women a bigger role in government.

I do not include con women who should restrict themselves to baking cookies and genufleting to their husbands.

Maybe Bill Clinton is taking a quiet role because he wants Hillary (or maybe Hillary herself wants) to be the person the voters see and will either vote for her or not.

But I do know alot of people who would vote for Hillary just to get Bill back into the White House (and to see the Republicans foam at the mouth again).

There are many countries that have elected women presidents, already.

First Ladies strong opinions have led to them being elected after the deaths of their husbands in several countries.

Oh palllllleeeeeeeeze! Don’t give Hillary credit for “revolutionizing” anything other than our new socialist government.

    Ever hear of Eleanor Roosevelt?

And since you are bringing Hillary up – remember how many Americans wer OFFENDED by the first lady getting involved in politics?

NO ONE ELECTED HER. There is no role, or zero political role, or constitutional role for her actions.

First ladies have always had influence, whether openly or behind the scenes.I’d love to have Bill back in the White House. I like him better than his wife..but if Al threw his hat in the ring I’d be overjoyed.
