Brownback needs some different plays

Sam Brownback’s coffers are quite a contrast to those in the front of the presidential pack, with only $817,000 contributed in the third quarter and only $94,000 on hand. On how he can improve on his 2 percent in the polls in Iowa, Brownback told the Boston Globe editorial board: “We’re trying some different plays.” He’d better be quick about it.
Brownback’s work toward a bipartisan congressional resolution apologizing for slavery and segregation is another example of how admirably consistent he is about human rights across the spectrum — or “pro-life, whole life,” as he puts it. But it’s difficult to see how much the issue will do for him in the Republican primaries, especially in Iowa, where African-Americans make up 2.3 percent of the population.

How about the play that puts him back to work for the people that elected him —- why isn’t the Beagle chastising him for wasting our time on his losing from day one campaign

Brownback must be using the same plan as bush in Iraq, play it by ear, even if you’re tone deaf.

Sam the Scam will hold out until he can collect the federal matching funds.

Then he’ll have a couple of million dollars walking around money until he announces that God told him not to keep his promise to retire from the Senate in 2010.

Y’know? For an omnipotent, omniscient “god,” God sure has a lousy track record as choosing political candidates.

God may well tell him to take the money and run, just not in 2008.

If Brownback was smart he would use his human rights record/views(which he should be lauded for) as a platform, maybe even use his clout as a Presidential candidate to enact action
