Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s gross mismanagement of the Iraq war made him a poor choice to be keynote speaker at the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting, a booking that proved short-lived. Now, Rumsfeld’s appointment as a distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University has generated an online protest petition signed by professors, staff members, students and alumni and stating, “We view the appointment as fundamentally incompatible with the ethical values of truthfulness, tolerance, disinterested enquiry, respect for national and international laws and care for the opinions, property and lives of others to which Stanford is inalienably committed.” Ouch — but then you go into retirement with the reputation you have, not the reputation you might want or wish to have at a later time.

I for one for would like to listen to Rumsfield try to explain his actions and how some how his mismanagement of the Iraq occupation was a good thing. Even though I see G.W. Bush as the head of a treasonous snake I still watch his speeches every time he is on (except for 9-11 I just could not stand to listen to him one more time standing on the corpses of those killed that day to justify the ignoring of the real enemies of this country). I even watch Fox News, at time find them as funny to watch at the information minister of Iraq during the invasion.
That’s gotta be painful, writerdog! To actually sit through, watch and listen to a Bush speech.

Tony Snow was obviously a better pick for the speaker at this time because he will certainly get the sympathy vote for having cancer.

Ahmadinejad is as popular in Iran as Bush is in America. The moderate political candidates do much better than the conservatives like Rafsanjani. Ahmadinejad is expected to lose to an even more moderate candidate unless Iran gets bombed then they’ll rally around their leader no matter how much they don’t like him (kinda like what America did with Bush).
So Bush has the opportunity to destroy the Democratic movement in Iran. If Iran becomes more liberal then the Republicans can’t use Iran as a scapegoat (although they do already). Expect to hear more lies from Republicans like they’ll bring Democracy to Iran although Iran is already a Democracy.
