More than likely that is just a CIA puppet. At this point, I don’t trust anything the government says or does.

Where have you been? It has been that way for a lot longer than the current adminsitration. I would go back to least the Johnson administration, if not before.

I am not sure if the beard is fake, but it barely resembles him in the face. I believe it may not be him. He has not been seen in a while, and what we have had is audio recordings that could have been made much earlier and released as needed.
The face is not as old. The eyes not as deep. The cheek line around the nose… Total fake. How many jihadists will think Allah has ‘youthened’ OBL for the war? As far as I can tell, they aren’t the brightest bulbs on the strand.
Funny that the video should appear at just this time. Like always, whenever bush is in danger of losing even his 30 percenters, OBL arrives to save the day.
No wonder bush is not concerned about “finding” him. He’s the best political tool the preznit has.
Are you saying AQ is on Bush’s payroll? They are the ones releasing the videos. If they are, it would be better to wait until closer to the 2008 elections for such videos.
If OBL is alive, shouldn’t he be doing a suicide bombing himself? That would lend creditability to the rest of his followers.

If that was not him in the video, he could be dead. He had some major health problems and his location would preclude access to the kind of medical care he needed. Dead, he might not be as big a hero as alive, depending on how he died. If he died in a US/Coalition attack, he could be painted as a martyr. If he died due to health issues, it could hurt his followers willingness to die for him.
I don’t know whether he is dead or not, but it would explain a number of things about his lack of video appearances until now.

It’s him..he’s just hit his middle age crisis and is sporting a new look. He probably also has a new, younger wife that he’s added to his collection.
Maybe he doesn’t wear a beard anymore to help hide his identity and puts on a fake one for the videos so we’ll all know it’s him.
Unless he has some plastic surgery, other facial things do not necessarily support it being him. Some of it could be do to outside influences. His skin tone is much darker in the newer picture, but maybe it is because he is outside more. Sol made other points above.
If our government authenticates it is him, do we trust them? It serves our government’s interests to claim he is still alive just as much as it serves the jihadists’ interests to keep him alive. As I said above, I don’t know either way. Not knowing is not going to change my daily routine. If he alive, why doesn’t he use some of his 100s of millions of dollars to make his fellow Muslims have better lives instead of inciting them to blow themselves up. Or give them arms to fight? A live jihadist has better multiple chances of killing more people than a dead one. The Japanese tried this tactic, Banzai death charges, in World War II in desperation.

Why would anyone thing OBL is dangerous? Hell if he really did mastermind the twin towers, don’t you think he would be world enemy number one? Wouldn’t Bush be spending massive resources to get this guy on trial? O, excuse me, we’re talking Bush . . . never mind.

I remember seing a video from that Arabic news network where it sure look like he claimed responsibility.
According to Wikipedia, numerous videos show Osama admitting responsibility for 9/11. He seemed proud of his accomplishment. But I guess the Bush administration made those up and got that Arabic network to run them. I am still waiting for Bush to show how we captured Osama and withheld him so that Bush could win the 2004 election, one of the more popular conspiracy theories before the election. Maybe he is waiting for the 2008 election, but why didn’t he use him to bolster the 2006 elections.

i don’t think bush is too worried about catching obl.bush wants to get this whole Iraq war problem set up so people will go back to liking it by election time.
then, if a democrat wins it’ll be their fault if bush’s mess fails and it will or has already.
