If it were Alec Baldwin, that would be big news

One of the acting Baldwin brothers is endorsing Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., for president. No, it’s not Alec (who broke his promise to move overseas if George W. Bush was elected). It’s Stephen, who told ABC News that he decided to endorse Brownback after listening to all the speeches at Iowa’s GOP straw poll Saturday. He said his decision was “spiritually motivated,” and “I think what America needs more than anything is a leader who’s honest, who’s truly a man of faith, and who allows that faith to make his decisions with his common good sense; and I think that’s Sam Brownback.”

yeah the last I heard of Stephen he was a youth preacher trying to guild the nations young to God. Kind of a mixture of new age/ Old time religion. Hey all the power to him, I may be the only one that actually like his movies and thinks when not a reality star he is a good actor. WHAT THAT SHOOT ANY CREDITABLY I HAD IN MY OPINION! Well each their own….

    He’s a converted “born-again” person now.

I guess he bucked the Scientology, Kabbalah, Neo-Leftist, Environmentalist and PETA trend of Hollywood.

Guess that means he will be run out of town.

But he’s endorsing somebody that doesn’t stand a chance to win. So this is no big deal.

In the photo that Brownlee provided, it looks as though Stephen may have had reason to partake of some medical marijuana. Did he sing it like Sinatra used to do it in “Strangers in the Night?”

(Come on everybody. You know the melody. Just imagine you’re Frank at The Flamingo: “Doobie doobie doo, somebody roll one. Doobie doobie doo, somebody pull one…”)

In any case, Baldwin’s endorsement should be just the shot in the arm that the Brownback campaign needed. In fact, it’s a bit surprising that the outcome wasn’t better at the straw poll. Maybe they didn’t get the word out quick enough.

Was Brownback actually in Washington casting a vote or something?

I’m trying to remember when the last time was that I cared what one of the Baldwin brothers said.

TRTaliaferro, Senators Barak Hussien Obama,& Hillary Clinton have been campaigning in Iowa too!Their campaigns are provided Corporate and private jets that jet them all over the country and back to D.C. How else do you suppose they are seen on National news in 3 different states at various fundraising events and back to D.C. in 1 day?

The Straw Poll took place on a Saturday. I doubt the lazy leadership in the Congress; Senate or House, scheduled debate or votes on a Saturday!

As for Baldwin’s endorsement of Brownback. So there’s a Baldwin Brother that’s not a child abusing loud mouth liberal nut case that should be living in Venzuela or Cuba? Anyone that watched the actual interview with Stephen Baldwin, saw an intelligent and articulate person. For the Brownback bashers, and especially the HATERS, if Stephen Baldwin would have endorsed any of your left wing candidates you’d be thrilled to share that he is the intelligent, thoughtful and in control Baldwin!

Uh… NO! Please, you all can keep his wingnut ass.

This endorsement merely confirms what I have ALWAYS suspected.

ALL the Baldwin brothers must be on drugs….

    not impressed:

Endorsements from Hollywood types are just that. Just because you’re an actor, it does not mean that your political point of view has value. All it means is people know who you are, and then Brownlee can round up a comical portrait of you, from the time when you used to wear a porkpie.

I have said on this blog, in other posts about the campaign, that it’s too bad the system is so geared for big money types to throw their weight around early on and establish front-runners before the public gets a chance to think about it. If the Senator wants to step up and make a case for public financing of campaigns, I will get behind him on that issue one hundred percent.

Until then, the Brownback team needs to ask old Stephen where he got the stingy lid.

Stephen Baldwin is insane so it only makes sense he’d support Brownback. Both are in favor of turning America into a theocracy. The cult Baldwin belongs too is promoting American soldiers in Iraq to kill in the name of a crusade and convert Iraqis to Christianity. I wouldn’t be surprised in nutters Browback shared those same views.

Stephen Baldwin is, indeed, a nutjob, but CF2K will admit to TOTALLY coveting the bitchin’ hat he’s wearing in the picture.

    ksfarmgrrl,

How nice of you to say so! Even if my thrift-story chapeaux can in no way compare with Baldwin’s high-fashion accessory.

However, I’ll take the cheap hat if doing so means being not insane and not having to back Brownback the Fundo Zombie.

‘Thrift story?’ What the hell? Thrift STORE.

I think we can trust Baldwin to choose a good candidate for President. After all, it was Baldwin who made the wise decision to star in Biodome.

Pauly Shore, his co-star, will probably endorse Hillary Clinton. Needless to say these two picks their candidates as well as their movie scripts.

Who gives a crap? I mean really, why is this a topic much less a story? Jeeze-oh-petes. This is some Hollywood lackey and his opinion matters why? Because he pays (or dodges) more tax than I earn in a year? Whatever.

Was Baldwin hawking at Phil’s tent at the fair? Did Brownback voters get a complimentary photo and signature from Baldwin. This might explain how Sam managed to place third!

I take it from BG’s posting that he/she is referring to Ophra Winfrey? You may not like Oprah but alot of people in America do and they are listening to her.

So I would not write off Barack Obama just yet. Are you mad because Stephen Baldwin is a has-been actor and Obama got the endorsement of Oprah Winfrey – a real celebrity?
