Mitt Romney has no doubt how many counties there are in Iowa — 99, all of which his son Josh is visiting. But Romney stumbled when asked by an Iowa voter at one of his “Ask Mitt Anything” events how many counties there are in Massachusetts, which he served as governor for one term. “Thirteen,” he said, as a nearby aide offered “10.” And the correct answer is: 14.
(In Kansas, by the way, it’s a whopping 105.)

I’m surprised he didn’t say “How many do you want there to be?”
He looks French to me

I am NOT a Romney fan, but seriously, why was this an important question? I didn’t even know how many counties were in Kansas and I’ve lived here for over 25 years
I also think his adult kids have the right to decide not to go to war. But that whole bicycling supporting the military but supporting their dad…well that was just a silly response.
Instead of Rhonda’s dumb topic, how about redirecting to health care plan that Romney as governor of Massachusetts, guided through?
http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110008213
Everyone in Massachusetts now has private health insurance. Is this a good model for other states. Beats nationalized health care.
Romney has some innovative ideas.
Romney has take Michael Moore’s numbers and blown them completely out of the water. I wrote on similar figures earlier when we had an Insurance topic.
That is,
-people eligible for Healthcare like Medicaid, won’t sign sign up;
- people that can afford health insurance (some making upwards of $80,000) just don’t do it as they are spending their money on impulse buying just as fast as they can;
-people that free Medical Care because most Hospitals are taking care of emergency cases and absorbing huge losses in doing, so they pass on the costs to people who pay Health Insurance (the illegal alien crowd and the faux welfare recipients bleeding the system)
-People even if they had free health care would avoid seeing a Doctor like the plague.
-the transient and drug counter-culture populous who are in too much of a stupor or disinterested in getting health care usually end up getting free care when they are severely injured or in a comatose state.
-people that are too proud to accept assistance with programs like SCHIPS (State Children’s Health Insurance Program) but then in the next breath complain they have no health care for their children.
-People who complain about the high cost of Insurance but refuse to contact their State Insurance Commissioner on how to get low cost Medical Insurance which is readily available.
As usual, it’s apathy that is the U.S. worst enemy when it comes to health care, not the lack of getting health care.

I think we need to consolidate many of our counties. However, it’s a fat chance that will happen.
It would save the state of whole hell of a lot of money if we consolidated counties and even schools.
You can consolidate, let’s say Barber, Pratt, Stafford, Barton, Rush, Pawnee, Edwards, Kiowa, and Comanche counties together and just make Great Bend the county seat.
You can do that to many counties. But rural people love their government jobs and their government dependent condition, so it will never happen.

P_Mom, were you ever governor of Kansas? Don’t you think it is important for a governor to know what he is governing? Pretty scary if you ask me.
This guy is a wet noodle that has been bought and sold like a junk bond.
RON PUAL 2008
How inspiring to hear Mitt praise his five sons’ patriotism expressed not by going to war in Iraq, but by driving a Winnebago through Iowa!
It conjures up that famous WWII movie about the true story of the Sullivan Brothers, five Iowa boys who were all serving on the same ship, and were all killed at the same time.
After their deaths, the military put in a rule that blood relatives could not all serve in the same unit.
Probably the brave Romney boys shouldn’t all be riding around in the same Winnebago.
Same could be said about Pelosi’s daughter LTP. She campaigns for the Democratic Party full time.
This guy is a wet noodle that has been bought and sold like a junk bond.
Mitt Romney better not be the Republican nominee. I’ll never vote for him.
http://www.mittromney.com/Issue-Watch/Romney_Agenda
The Romney agenda makes more sense to me than any of the others that I have seen. Odds are good that he will have my vote.
That figures….
Do the NeoCon GOP still have the receipt for Romney or has he been in their pocket long enough that they’ve lost it.
heheheh Sol!
I think they lost in in the washing machine. You know, the wash, rinse, repeat cycle…
How much water will the Iowa straw poll hold using decertified electronic voting devices with no chance of a manual recount by ANYONE.
GOPers, if you are not a Romney fan, speak out !!!!
http://rense.com/general77/straw.htm
“Each campaign was welcome to have representatives witness the feeding of the paper ballots into the counting computers but that there would not be a manual count of any kind. I then asked what would happen to the original paper ballots. She asked me to hold for a moment while she checked. In our earlier phone conversation she said that I needed to talk to “Eric” the Iowa State GOP’s Political Director so I can only imagine she was likely getting directions from him. She came back on the line to say that the paper ballots would remain with the machines and would not elaborate further. I asked if the paper would be destroyed and she would not/could not answer.
“So there you have it. The same machines that California just decertified 3 days ago and Florida is in the spot light about as well, are going to be used to determine the future . . . .”
“THERE WOULD NOT BE A MANUAL COUNT OF ANY KIND” !!!
Y’all remember I called this weeks – or even a month or two ago-. The GOP has already decided FOR you that Romney will get the nod. Giuliani will burn up in some sort of scandal while Romney bobs and weaves his way around the tough issues.
Now you have the GOP using decertified voting machines, absolutely NO manual recount because they refuse to turn over the actual ballots. Wake up republicans. You still have a mind, a voice, AND A VOTE !!!!
Y’all going to vote for a cheater?

Iowa straw poll to use inaccurate Diebold electronic voting machines!http://www.freedomradio.us/Joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1059&Itemid=136
YES – despite a study from computer scientists at the University of California paid for by the Secretary of State of California – publicized in the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times LAST SATURDAY (July 28, 2007) – the Iowa GOP is STILL planning to use the easily rigged Diebold computers to “count” the vote at the Straw poll!http://www.votefraud.org/ames_appeal_08022007.htm
I’ve been bitching about the voting machines for a long time now. I only vote on paper or advanced ballot.
Political Mom-
Why? Paper ballots can be lost, stolen or miscounted, advanced ballots lost, etc. Is someone is going st “Steal” an election, machines vs paper doesn;t matter. What matters is the integrity of the eleciton officials. ANd since nobody thatloses a close election believes anything but that it was rigged, then how it was rigged seems to make little difference. However, I do not like the machines, and think there should be a paper trail. It might possibley deter some cheaters
Poltical MOm-
Let me say a little secret, that is only secret because nobody wants to hear it. We are a nation of cheaters, and teach our children to be the same. Examples
Overstating exemptions on irs formsUnderstating income–after all the bastards yadayadyada
Athletics and sports contests, it’s only cheating if you get caught
education, resumes, sales pitches, campaigns, and on and on. Winning is what is important.
Is there any doubt why people don;t trust elections? they know they are cheaters themselves
