Wait till you see these family jewels . . .

Here is author James Bamford, an expert on U.S. intelligence agencies, to NPR’s Liane Hansen, on how the CIA’s recently released “family jewels” secrets about its activities 25 years ago might compare to the secrets the CIA is harboring now:
“Well, it’s ironic, you know. Usually the horror stories back in the ’70s, everybody was aghast at what was happening. This was the whole creation of a congressional committee, joint committees to look into all this stuff. And now, looking back, it seems so minor compared to what the CIA is doing today. They have a whole section here on how the CIA held a Russian defector in a jail that was created by the CIA, a mini-prison for this person on CIA property for two or three years. Now you have the CIA keeping people in prisons all over the world, in secret prisons. It talks about the mail-opening that was done by the CIA, reading letters going from the United States to and from Russia, and also China. And that was an outrage at the time. But today the intelligence community is reading hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of e-mails of Americans.”
And we’ll have to wait 25 years to find out just how bad it was?

As I said on another post on the “right to privacy”, when you or any electronic signal, paper or sound leaves the 4 walls of your home, you have to assume you have no privacy and act accordingly.

I’m betting we’ll have to wait less than 25 months. January 21, 2009, can’t come soon enough.

I agree with Tom – it will only take 29 months for us to begin to unravel the misdeeds of Bush and Gang. Unless, of course, one of them slips up and we get them both impeached at the same time.

    WTF?

A blog entry about CIA misdeeds, government misbehaviors and disasters, and what does the Troll do? It skips right past the “straw-man” stuffing, and goes straight for the “change the subject, and attack other posters” mode.

Troll: In the immortal words of your Commander in Chief’s Number Two (in more ways than one), go **** yourself.

    Thanks.

As the hypocrite Tom goes on his personal bigotry tirade off topic, he shows the true form of himself. And of course you will see, Tom has added nothing pertaining to the topic. Hypocrites all.

It was a great NPR interview on the author who dug up stuff from the CIA. President Kennedy and Johnson were notorious for using the CIA to spy on American citizens and using the CIA to overthrow governments.

    Tom,

that is just what repuke and all other repukes do

and they think they are the moral superior for it too

I have learned to just skip over his posts especially the long ones. They are nothing but talking points anyway

    1. Change the subject. “It’s not about my ****ed up behavior, it’s about anyone who calls me out on it.”

    2. Stuff the straw man (this time with a bald lie): “You changed the subject!”

    3. Attack: “Bigot! Hypocrite!”

Former Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta answered questions from members of 9/11 Truth Seattle.org about his testimony before the 9/11 Commission report.

Mineta says Vice President Cheney was “absolutely” already there when he arrived at approximately 9:25 a.m. in the PEOC (Presidential Emergency Operations Center) bunker on the morning of 9/11. Mineta seemed shocked to learn that the 9/11 Commission Report claimed Cheney had not arrived there until 9:58– after the Pentagon had been hit, a report that Mineta definitively contradicted.

A point that needs to be made:

    WE ARE ALL AlIVE TODAY

Would we be alive if not for winning the cold war?

    Another point to be made:

America survived. As Lincoln said, “The Constitution is not a suicide pact.”

Would America be an independant, Constitutional Republic TODAY without the actions, taken in the past, to protect us?

Do you people really think it will get better with a Dem? You’r kidding yourself, the far right and the far left are one in the same, they pretend they hate each other, but they need each other to further their causes. It’s all a big game of hop scotch to alternately rip away our lives and give it to government and corporations.

Does anyone remember Janet Reno? Dem’s are no better at government restraint than Reps.

Whats most maddening is that American’s are a fat lazy bunch of slobs who no longer deserve to be free. If the Bill of Rights went up for a national vote, it wouldn’t pass, because everyone is too afraid they might have to do something besides flip channels in order to preserve our freedom.

We are a nation founded by bootleggers, tax evaders, and rebels. It didn’t take 50 years for the establishment to become worse than what we fought to be free from.

The best Americans of today are labeled as unpatriotic traiters.
