Paul Hill, a former Presbyterian minister and fervent anti-abortionist, used a shotgun to kill Dr. John Bayard Britton and his bodyguard, retired Lt. Col. James Herman Barrett, as they drove into a Pensacola abortion clinic in 1994. Hill told reporters that his death would make him a “martyr” in the anti-abortion movement and that he expected a “reward” in Heaven. Hill was a regular protester at the clinic and stepped out of the way as the truck, with Dr. Britton and Barrett inside, pulled into the parking area. As Barrett got out of the vehicle, Hill fired a shotgun four times at him, then reloaded and fired again, killing both Britton and Barrett. James Barrett’s wife, 68 year old June Barrett, was also in the car and wounded. At his trial, Hill attempted to present a defense claiming that his actions had been justifiable homicide, since he had killed the two men in order to prevent the murder of unborn children. The judge refused to allow this argument in court, and Hill refused to present any other defense. He was sentenced to death and rejected any effort to appeal the verdict. Hill became the first killer of an abortion clinic doctor to be executed.

Hill’s last words:

“The last thing I want to say: If you believe abortion is a lethal force, you should oppose the force and do what you have to do to stop it. May God help you to protect the unborn as you would want to be protected.”

Please tell me how one knows the difference between a “true” religion and a “false” religion.

Today a church on the corner of hate and haight was found to be a hotbed of hatred and murderous activity. A part of a major conspiracy, to spread their vile practices througout the city, the state, and the world. Among the most damaging articles found was a book said to be authored by the founder. the most telling and heinous statments within the book

“I am the way, the truth, and the life” and “go , and make disciples”

The name of this book. the Bible

First, I don;t believe that crap, and neither do you. If you do, you are far more paranoid than I thought’

Second, none of those people are the Pope, or the Leaders of the Southern Baptist convention

And you know how far you’d get with the Ayotallohs. They’d kill you on the spot.

I’m on the same point I was on a couple of hours back: the arrogance of any one person who declares one religion “true” and all other religions “false.”

I’d get just as far with the ayatollahs as I’d get with Phelps or Terry Fox or Richard Land. All that keeps them from imprisoning me or killing me are the protections afforded me by the United States Constitution’s prohibition on establishment of religion. You know – the part that _declines_ to say what religions are “true” or “false.”

Come on Tom, let’s lighten up just a little. If you can see no difference, the I suggest that you go to the ayotollahs of the middle east, and speak to them about gay marriage and openly being gay.
