Summing up the legacy of a presidential administration with 19 months to go is like reviewing a play without seeing the last act, but columnist George Will may have come close Sunday during the roundtable on ABC’s "This Week." Recalling how the White House pressed for the Palestinian elections that ended up empowering the Hamas terrorist group, and how Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice responded by saying that "nobody saw it coming," Will concluded: "Those four words are the epitaph of this administration." Think also of Sept. 11, post-invasion Iraq and Katrina, and Will has a point.

Even George Will is coming around on the administration. After backing these idiots at every turn, now he is recovering from his cranial rectum inversion. Welcome back to reality George.
I think we could be even more stingy with words. I can name that tune in three.
Worst
president
ever
Will’s 4 words are something less than accurate, though.
There WERE people who saw it coming, especially Iraq.
A more accurate 4 words are “Bush refuses to learn.”
I can sum it up in one word, “failure”. To claim nobody saw it coming is dishonest. Bush was told about the levees about the break and he did nothing. Bush was warned about the 9/11 attacks and he did nothing. Bush was warned about the potential turmoil in Iraq and he ignored it. Bush was told Iraq had no WMD and he dismissed the facts. He was told about the problem of global warming and he denied the facts.
Perhaps the only people who didn’t see it coming was the moderate Republicans who voted for Bush based upon his campaign promises. They never saw the failures coming.
Yeah Doug, and dont forget the republican religious right.
They never saw bush distain for them coming either…
God, isn’t it over?
Lame duck him before he gets crap started with Tehran too.
Wrong, liberals saw it coming. We told you all so.
Lame duck him?
How about IMPEACH HIM!!!!!
It’s the only way you will ever stop him. He thinks he is above the law and he has the track record to prove it.
Impeach. Indict. Convict.
Now those are three words I could get behind…
We’ll have to impeach Cheney before we impeach Bush. It’s always a good idea to impeach the guy in charge then get rid of his stooge second.
One of the prosecutors in the Jo Co DA office is speaking out. I heard her last night. She left and is working for Morrison in Topeka now. She said Phill is ruining the DA’s office. She told many horror stories. A murderer was up for parole on Monday and no one from the DA’s office was there to represent the people of Johnson County. The attorney who should have been there was playing golf. She told of another case where the defendant was charged with 5 felonies and had no attorney (she called this a no brainer win) and Kline’s people let him plea down to a misdemeanor and time served. And Kline is calling that a win.
The only case he has won was that murder trial last week where the defendant’s mother testified against him. DUIs are being thrown out because evidence is lost. Criminal defense attorneys are lining up to get easy wins since the prosecutors are so incompetent. 20 of 32 attorneys in the DA’s office have left since January, some fired and some quit.
She said someone needs to file a FOIA and find out how much restitution has been collected and paid since January in Johnson County.
Here’s the best part: Phill is working 6 to 8 hours a week – for $143K a year.
Ah, so in honor of the completion of the US Open, we tee up the president once again. I just hope everyone keeps fixating on him.
lmba: Are you lost, little lady? How many times have you posted this unsubstantiated innuendo? It sounds like sour grapes.
Hamas is not a “terrorist” group and I’d wish the Eagle would stop using that misnomer. Why? Because you’re smart enough to know better.
Both Hamas and Hezbollah are humanitarian organizations dedicated to feed, cloth, house, offer medical services, care for the elderly and generally do all of those things which the Religion of Islam truly stands for. And yes they do fight with the only crude weapons they can muster.
The Jews like to make a big deal out of Hamas using themselves as bombs to blow-up the invading Jews, well sometimes, just as we have done, you fight with whatever weapons you can find.
We can never save the good Israelis unless we start dealing with realities of both Hamas and Hezbollah, instead of the Israeli/Bush propaganda and deal with the misdirection which the Zionists have carefully orchestrated.
The Eagle can blaze the “truth Trail” and stop with the Bush “Terror” garbage.
Even the 9/11 Report says that the attack of 9/11 was an act of retaliation for years of unrestrained support for the barbarism against the Palestinians.
On 9/11/2001 they hit the twin-towers which had the greatest concentration of Jews and the Pentagon where the killing tools came from and their other Target was the White House, which is the seat of American Power.
All of that has been misrepresented by the Zionists and you know it.
“We’ll have to impeach Cheney before we impeach Bush.”
I did NOT exclude the possibility of a twofer.
Hell, include ag ag and we could have a trifecta!
OuttieIf the president gave the American people something to be hopeful for, or something to rally behind, you would see something different. But as long as the status quo exists in Washington, the people will remain outraged and disillusioned.
And….I just hope everyone keeps fixating on him.Posted by: outlander | June 18, 2007 at 01:34 PM
Makes everyone nervous about what Cheney is up to. Why would you want everyone to fixate on the president?
Haliburton moves headquarters to Dubai…
Anyone consider this move was to avoid investigation after Cheney is gone?
That and to avoid U.S. taxes.
Americans should not go abroad to slay dragons they do not understand in the name of democracy.
John Adams
That’s a good one solly!
No SollyWe need to go spread democracy and hypocrisy world wide. This is the only way the rest of the world can understand how great we are. We need to rid the world of the “non Christian” and allow the sun to shine in. We must let the rest of the world know that if they disagree with us we will “stick a boot in their a**”
Iraqies seriously owe GWB!Iraq now ranked second among world’s failed states By David MorganMon Jun 18, 10:10 AM ET
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Iraq has emerged as the world’s second most unstable country, behind Sudan, more than four years after President George W. Bush ordered the U.S. invasion to topple Saddam Hussein, according to a survey released on Monday.
The 2007 Failed States Index, produced by Foreign Policy magazine and the Fund for Peace, said Iraq suffered a third straight year of deterioration in 2006 with diminished results across a range of social, economic, political and military indicators. Iraq ranked fourth last year.
Afghanistan, another war-torn country where U.S. and NATO forces are battling a Taliban insurgency nearly six years after a U.S.-led invasion, was in eighth place.
“Iraq and Afghanistan, the two main fronts in the global war on terror, both suffered over the past year,” a report that accompanied the figures said.
“Their experiences show that billions of dollars in development and security aid may be futile unless accompanied by a functioning government, trustworthy leaders, and realistic plans to keep the peace and develop the economy.”
The index said Sudan, the world’s worst failed state, appears to be dragging down its neighbors Central African Republic and Chad, with violence in the Darfur region responsible for at least 200,000 deaths and the displacement of 2 million to 3 million.
The authors of the index said one of the leading benchmarks for failed state status is the loss of physical control of territory or a monopoly on the legitimate use of force.
Other attributes include the erosion of legitimate authority, an inability to provide reasonable public services and the inability to interact with other states as a full member of the international community.
Foreign Policy magazine is published by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a Washington-based think tank. The Fund for Peace is an independent research group devoted to preventing and resolving conflicts.
Two words are all that’s need to define this admin. F’d Up!
To sum up their excuses another two “Who Knew!”
“Why would you want everyone to fixate on the president?”
Because he isn’t running for office. But please, carry on.
BTW, LOVE that Toby Keith song.
I know you do Outtie. Its the theme song for all Bush Monkies.
No, the Bush/Cheney combo never saw it coming, hell, they never saw anything coming, nor do they care. Two thumbs up; “Mission Accomplished”
So that everyone knows what Mikey and I are talking about, here are the lyrics. Way too patriotic for Mikey.
Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue (The Angry American)(Toby Keith)©2002 Tokeco Tunes (BMI)
This was written a few days after the September 11th terrorist attacks. My father was a soldier in the Army in the ’50s and always flew a flag to show his patriotism. I had just lost him in a car wreck six months before the attacks took place, so I wrote my feelings down. I never really intended for this to be a song. It was originally titled “Angry American.”
American Girls and American GuysWe’ll always stand up and saluteWe’ll always recognizeWhen we see Old Glory FlyingThere’s a lot of men deadSo we can sleep in peace at nightWhen we lay down our head
My daddy served in the armyWhere he lost his right eyeBut he flew a flag out in our yardUntil the day that he diedHe wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and meTo grow up and live happyIn the land of the free.
Now this nation that I loveHas fallen under attackA mighty sucker punch came flyin’ inFrom somewhere in the backSoon as we could see clearlyThrough our big black eyeMan, we lit up your worldLike the 4th of July
Hey Uncle SamPut your name at the top of his listAnd the Statue of LibertyStarted shakin’ her fistAnd the eagle will flyMan, it’s gonna be hellWhen you hear Mother FreedomStart ringin’ her bellAnd it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on youBrought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue
Justice will be servedAnd the battle will rageThis big dog will fightWhen you rattle his cageAnd you’ll be sorry that you messed withThe U.S. of A.`Cause we`ll put a boot in your assIt`s the American way

Need I say more? Great song to get the troops fired up. Poor choice to establish foreign policy decisions. This is the mentality of the incredibly stupid. When you go “puttin boots in peoples a**es” you loose sight of the goal. Its a backwards mentality that we are watching unfold before our eyes. You can use this kind of matra to fire up the troops, but eventually you come back down to earth. Not these idiots! This is the company line….disagree and watch what happens.
Bush Monkies
Outlander will salute the flag until his arm falls off.
As far as actually fighting in Bush’s illegal and immoral war, uhm . . . no, thanks, right kick ass?
Hey, that’s a good name for him: outlander, I hereby dub thee “kick ass” . . . because you’re the epitome of someone who can’t kick ass.
Ahhhh,
…Comments from the “blame America First Crowd.” lmao
All in lockstep, I can hear jackboots of the Liberal Left Hitlerites on the path to another flag burning, ACLU Card Carrying lust fest of cheese eating surrender monkey mutual fondling and tree hugging ceremony. :D
:::sprays Troll-Be-Gone, walks on by:::
hee hee hee TOM!
“Now in a non-aerosol pump!”
No Republican. I blame those in this country that due to their lack of intelligence automatically goes to the “lets get physical” card. This grade yard mentality has run our country into the ground. Call me all the names you want, you cannot change the fact that you support a 3rd grader to run our country. And due to his lack of intelligence, he has turned the clock back on our country by at least 25 yrs. So go to church, give them your money, stop by a gun store, go home look at your stock portfolio, put the gun to your head and pull the trigger. After all, thats what you care about….GUNS, GOD AND GREED!
Hmmm.. Didn’t realize this was a foreign policy song. I thought it was a patriotic response to 911. I like the song.
I’m proud to be a citizen of the greatest country on earth. And the most free. And the most powerful. And I don’t feel guilty about it either, like the apologists on the left.
“…a 3rd grader to run our country. And due to his lack of intelligence…”
Oh Mike! I gotcha now. You mean that dude who had higher grades than Senator Kerry in college! :D
Actually, the four words to which this “Administration” reduces were first spoken by none other than Brother Jake Blues, when he said…
“It’s not my fault!”
Who is smarter, Kerry or Bush?
Pretty much a tie:
WASHINGTON (USATODAY.com) — While the general impression during the 2004 presidential campaign was that Democrat John Kerry was the intellectual superior to President Bush, it turns out that their grades while undergraduate students at Yale were remarkably similar. In fact, Bush’s were a tad higher. His four-year average was 77; Kerry’s 76. Both were C students. Kerry graduated from Yale in 1966; Bush in 1968.
————————http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2005/06/07/yale_grades_portray_kerry_as_a_lackluster_student/
In 1999, The New Yorker published a transcript indicating that Bush had received a cumulative score of 77 for his first three years at Yale and a roughly similar average under a non-numerical rating system during his senior year.Kerry, who graduated two years before Bush, got a cumulative 76 for his four years, according to a transcript that Kerry sent to the Navy when he was applying for officer training school. He received four D’s in his freshman year out of 10 courses, but improved his average in later years.
Kerry gradually improved his grades, averaging 81 in his senior year. His highest single grade was an 89, for a political science class in his senior year. Despite his slow start, he went on to be a top student at Naval Candidate School, command a patrol boat in Vietnam, graduate from law school, and become a prosecutor, lieutenant governor, US senator, and presidential candidate.
Where are all the Republicans saying the summary of Bush’s presidency should be “what a great eight”?
Actually, outlander, putting a boot in yer ass is not the American way. The Founding Fathers were sick and tired of those in power putting their boots in other people’s asses. So they devised a system to — as much as possible — keep boots out of people’s asses. yours, mine, theirs, anyones. The whole world agreed we needed to wipe out Al Qaeda (the ones who did 9/11, not the generic term we use now for anyone who shoots at us in Iraq), and the Taliban. But the invasion of Iraq was a knee-jerk stupid reaction, a stupidity perfectly captured in that song.
Toby is so awesome that right after he wrote that song he went out and enlisted in the military so he could serve in Iraq and put himself in harm’s way to put his considerable money where his big mouth… Oh, wait, no he didn’t. My bad. He is still a civilian.tobyfan@toby.com
BIG Toby Keith fan,By “BIG”, do you mean you, like, weigh a lot:-)
Actually, comparing Bush to Kerry is typical right-wing, neo-con, fundie. Hitlerite butt spew.
Kerry is honest; Bush is . . . The Worst President Ever (Now there’s four words I can live with.).
Dear JM,Yes! Just like Toby, except with brain cells, so heavier!
“Kerry is honest”
whooohahahahah!lmao! hahahahaha!
“Bush is _______”honestsmartlaw-abidingdecentcaring
whooohahahahah!lmao! hahahahaha!
Republican is honestwhooohahahahah!lmao! hahahahaha!
Wow, they aren’t even original.
I wonder they were the “D” students that hid in the back of the classroom in grammar school? :D
Once again, walk on by……………
There isn’t much to say here, that hasn’t already been said, but there is a theme running through Outlander’s comments that I can’t help but address, and it pertains to to the idea that he is part of the “most powerful” country that will “put a boot in yer ass” if you mess with it…Do you think anybody outside our borders is concerned about our so-called massive power? Iran? North Korea? China? Quaking…look how they shake when we come by…especially upset over how might get them now, when we are tied down in another quagmire, resources stretched paper-thin.
A weapon is only as smart as its owner, Outlander, whether it’s an army, a tank, a gun, or a boot. It doesn’t take much military history to learn how far power will get you in a two-front war.
delsol,
Indeed. All Iraq is shown is the impotence of our military approach to foreign policy to deal with asymmetrical threats and fourth generation warfare. And all North Korea has learned is that it can play the Bush Administration for anything it likes, whenever it wants.
The only ass that’s been booted appears to be our own. The aftermath of the Bush “Admininstration” will be the un-prying of our own boot from our own collective ass.
As I said before, it’s just a patriotic song in response to 911. But if you’re going continue to whine about it, let’s see if I can rewrite the song so as to remove the part that offends the delicate sensibilities of my brothers and sisters on the anti-war left. I doubt it will do any good though ’cause it’s probably the whole attitude of the song that gets their panties in a bunch.
Before (to our enemies)
Justice will be servedAnd the battle will rageThis big dog will fightWhen you rattle his cageAnd you’ll be sorry that you messed withThe U.S. of A.`Cause we`ll put a boot in your assIt`s the American way
After (to our enemies)
Justice will be servedAnd the battle will rageThis lefty dog won’t fightWhen you rattle his cageAnd you’ll be happy that you messed withThe U.S. of A.`Cause we`ll stick our thumb up our assAnd you can have your own way.
How’s that guys, better?
Jeez, Outlander, what an ass you are. I guess that whole concept of peace on Earth is totally foreign to you.
You might remember that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and now Bush (your hero) has allowed the Taliban to regain control of much of Afghanistan, where al Qaeda planned much of the attacks on the Twin Towers.
Toby Keith sucks.
Toby Keith-Chickenhawk.
Toby Keith…W Bush…Republican chickenhawks all.
Cowardly lying hypocrites. ;>
Actually Toby Keith is a lifelong Democrat who recognizes the necessity of the war on terror. Though he has entertained the troops is Iraq, he is not crazy about the war there. Here are quotes from his interview that appeared in Playboy.
On the Iraq war: “I’m pro-war on terror. Whether we should go fromcountry to country, like with the Iraq thing, I don’t know. This ain’t assimple as Afghanistan. We’re going to Iraq for what? For terrorism? Have we seen any terrorist training camps? I haven’t seen the smoking gun. And the haven’t found the weapons of mass destruction. But the second I said in the press that I wasn’t’ sure about Iraq, people said, ‘He’s trying to save his career.’ What? My career is boomin’, buddy.”
On his experience in Iraq: “You think when you go there that bombswill be going off everywhere, you know? And it’s nothing like that. There were people in Baghdad shopping, going to the market. It was bustling. And we’ve got 20,000 troops walking around on the streets every day, helping civilians. Not that everybody wants us there, but a lot of people do, and a lot of people are glad Saddam’s gone.”
On news coverage of the war: “I think people have to be cautious about how they get their news. I’d always trusted CNN to be my source and never really thought about it. But now, to me, CNN gives a very liberal, slanted view of the news. I don’t feel that Fox always gets it right, but I think it at least makes an attempt to give me a balanced show. The one thing the soldiers kept telling me was, ‘Be careful where you get your news, man. They lie, lie, lie.’ So I came back and started watching Fox, and it was more like what I saw over there, a more accurate report of what the soldiers felt was going on.”
Outlander reads playboy? I sure he gets the zine for the articles only. :D
Chuckle… that’s right Steven. It’s hard to read with one eye closed.
Four Words to sum up past Presidents:
Nixon: I’m not a crook
Ford: Stumble Stumble Pardon Pardon
Carter: Is Stagflation a word
Reagan: Delayed a Bush Administration
H.W. Bush: USA 1/2 Iraq 0
W. Clinton: Ended a Bush Administration
G.W. Bush: Didn’t Daddy conquer Iraq?
For some reason tonight I am having a difficult time cutting and pasting a link for this thread. Use the usual precursors and go to this site. It has a wealth of information on the “wisdom” of privatizing the war in Irag.

Not sure what you mean outlander, but it is good to know that you appreciate God’s creations as much as some of us sinners do.
Outlander, who rattled the cage? Was it Saddam or Bin Laden, I can’t remember…who did we go after, again?
Oh yeah.
If you think being a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest is a good way to go, then you go right ahead, General Outlander.
For those of you who say that GW going to Iraq and letting OBL run off to Pakistan has made us safer here.
http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/06/exclusive_suici.html
OBL trains, recruits, and plans from Pakistan and has ever since GW had the Afghans chase him there.
But hey at least over 600,000 Iraqis have been killed. That is what we can feel better about after we are hit here again.
GW the great.
“nobody saw it coming,”
This could be the situation facing us if the ageing QuickSCAT satellite fails during hurricane season. This bird is way beyond it’s useful life. National Hurricane Center Bill Proenza has been warning about this. His reward from the Bush administration (via the acting head os the National Weather Service)? “a three-page letter of reprimand”!
However, this professional is fighting back “Proenza shared the contents of the letter with his staff and the media”http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/comment.html?entrynum=697&tstamp=200706
I always thought it was three words.
“What, me worry?”
Bush is in a perpetual Alfred E. Neuman moment. Even the resemblance is uncanny.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_E._Neuman
Will is another of many Bush apologists–they all have the same approach: look at all the bad stuff that just happened out of nowhere to our guy.
They refuse to admit the root of the problem: George Bush himself.
We have all these problems because we have the king of f*ck ups in the Oval Office.
Bush and his gang are clueless so I am not surprised they did not see anything coming. After all, their main focal point is money, money, money and more money. They are only interested in themselves and how they can push their noses any higher up the Saudis butts to get at that oil.
As for Halliburton moving to Dubai, first it is probably for tax purposes and, yes, for ‘hands off’ during any investigation of Cheney.
Both Bush and Cheney have showed their so-called patriotism time and after time. And now the majority (70% plus) of Americans know exactly what the Bush gang is all about. I just hope the country can survive another 19 months until this crew is history.
