Is it just me or is there more than a passing resemblance between actor Fred Thompson and a certain cheeriness-challenged dwarf? Come clean, Mr. Thompson. Did you or did you not, early in your career, once take an acting role you are less than proud of today?

Good observation Richard!
I have always thought Bush looks like Alfred E. Neuman.
Grumpy has much better positions on taxes, war and immigration than does Fred Dalton Thompson, and he has stuck with the same wife, abet shared, for the last fifty years.
Grumpy, in my estimation, would work with Congress to address the nations problems much better than Thompson would.
He may be a grump, but he has much more to offer.
anyone who thinks Fred who married his dau..oh no, that is a girl young enough to be his daughter would make a good president is just a joke
Agreed, LMBA.
It’s sickening to see that dried up old guy (hey, you smoke much, dude?) with that fresh-as-May babe.
Also, it turns out Mr. Law-and-Order worked for years as a LOBBYIST.
Sheesh, gimme a break.
That’s a pretty cheap shot at Disney and Grumpy !!!!
It’s funny to me that the conservative Republicans who hate “Hollyweird” and “Hollywood values” have elected Hollywood actors to the presidency, representatives and now want to elect this guy. HYPOCRITES
jtd – it’s also funny how these family values Republicans are so often divorced; in many cases having cheated on their wives.
That wouldn’t be ol’ Newtie you’re referring to, now would it, Ben?
Among others … Ronnie … Rushbo …
Did the dwarves rent out a mine to use as a photo-op to give the impression they are real miners just like Thompson rents a red pick up truck to give the impression he’s country?
A 6′7″ dwarf. That’s pretty Dopey.
Draws caricature to make Richard Crowson look like “grandpa” from HeeHaw. :D
Maybe Grumpy and Snow White could be doubles for Fred and his wife when the campaigning begins. Oh, I forgot, they’re no more real than Fred is.
Crowson’s cheap shot at Thompson’s appearance shows you the level the Wichita Eagle has fallen to in its desparate attempt to discredit ANY Republican candidate.
I’d expect a smart-ass comment from Clark aka Capn Crunch and Friedmann types on this blog, but not from the WE itself.
Crowson should apologize and promise to try to act like a professional journalist in the future.
And the Wichita Eagle if it wants to maintain any credibility should take a hard look at Crowson to see if there is any reason to maintain him as an employee.
Naw,it’s okay Max, it’s what he does for a living. Crowson is the WE’s cartoonist. He gets payed to make fun of people, events and whatever. :D
Mad Max!
Ok Republican, then let’s see the same effort at fun making made with say, Hillary. Such a beautiful face and warm genuine smile, just like the Grinch.
Or let’s make fun of the AWOL Democratic senator Tim Johnson, now known as Druel Bucket.
That’s fair Max. Here’s a caricature I did of Pelosi awhile back. :Dhttp://republikan.typepad.com/graphics_and_design/2007/04/xara_xtreme_art_2.html
What Fred Thompson knows about Hillary 6/21/07:

Little help to make fun of what Hillary does, as opposed to making fun of her beauty.
Republican that is Brilliant! And this is on one of her good days!
Ain’t that sweet, Republank has a new friend in Max. It is nice to see him make friends on the playground.
Ya think our resident tolerant liberals would have the same smarmy comments if similar shots were taken by Crowson by Obama? or Hillary?
I don’t think so.
“by Crowson ON Obama . . . ”
Edit, Edit, Edit!!!!
Oh I’m sure the libs would be crying bloody murder if the Eagle ever picked on one of their guys, or girl. (At least I think she’s a girl, though maybe there’s a reason for Bill’s wondering ways.)
Why is it a big deal that Thompson is married to a younger chick? It’s not as if liberals have ever been big on morality.
Oh liberals know how to laugh, GMC. We can laugh at Obama and Hillary certainly provides sufficient ammunition for jokes. It’s all in fun.
It is a big deal that Thompson is married to a younger chick!
I want to know how to go about doing the same thing!
Never a president named Fred. Bald guys don’t do well either. But run anyway Freddie, you are great humor material.
I want to know how to go about doing the same thing!

Max, it’s no big deal; age is just a number. Why is anybody hung up on the age difference? If you want a younger woman, all you have to do is figure out what a younger woman wants and provide it. If you’re a sexist pig, you’re probably wasting your time.
Regardless of age, women aren’t that hard to figure out. They want a secure, loving relationship. They like to be treated as an equal (as they fully deserve). Thankfully, they don’t judge us the way most men judge them.
If you want a woman young enough to be your daughter, the first requisite is to be rich. If a woman marries a man twice her age, she either has to have a serious father figure fetish, or more likely, is a gold digger. Simple.

Phantom, that’s really not a fair statement and sounds like some kind of stereotype you’d find on TV. There are as many reasons to hook up with older men as there are women who do that. And financial security isn’t an illegitimate criteria for choosing a mate, so long as that isn’t the only criteria.
Of course, a lot depends on the age range we’re talking about. A 40 year-old man hooking up with an 18 year-old might raise my eyebrows. But what about a 40 year-old woman marrying a man who’s 60?

Riiiiiiiight.
Since when?
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have always been able to laugh, GMC. We nominated Michael Dukais for president didn’t we?
“Or let’s make fun of the AWOL Democratic senator Tim Johnson, now known as Druel Bucket.”
Wow. Is RUSH on this blog?
I think we all see who are and are not humor challenged.
I agree about the repukes who constantly whine about “hollyweird” and hollywood values…
…and then put actors and entertainers (Sonny BONO?) in office.
Hypocrisy, thy name is….
Wiseman
“I have always thought Bush looks like Alfred E. Neuman.”
You’re insulting Alfred E. Neuman.
You won’t see too many Hollywood men in their 60’s marrying woment in their 40’s, that’s about their upper limit before dumping them.
Ha!Phantom, I see your point about Hollywood even though I think Hollywood is a freaking aberration (see mt posts about Paris H.).
I was referring to real people and real relationships. I’m kind of an expert on this subject, LOL! Mrs. XXX is many years my junior. My mother-in-law is only a couple of years older than I am.
My second wife hasn’t been born yet.
Fleettwood–
Still waiting for you set the time and place for our footrace.
The distance is 7 miles.
Awaiting your reply,
Cap A.
Fleet, that’s the spirit!
Let’s see . . . marrying the young purty wife is bad, just how, exactly . . . . . . ?
We should all be so bad.
;-)
GMC,It’s all been GOOD for me, LOL! The worst problem I have is people asking about the goofy grin.
oh you repukes … a lot of guts to talk about AWOL
you have the master AWOL in thief in charge of the nation…
