If Sebelius challenged Roberts

There is still no good explanation of why Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., had President Bush help him raise $650,000 this month for Roberts’ unopposed 2008 re-election bid. While we wait to see whether some Kansas Democrat is willing and able to credibly challenge Roberts, consider this: In this month’s SurveyUSA poll of 600 Kansans, Roberts’ approval rate was 51 percent, compared with 65 percent for Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. (Sen. Sam Brownback’s approval rate was 50 percent.)

Probably wont happen with Roberts, but it be great if she challenged Brownback, who is making a mockery of our Senator position by not doing his regular job at all. I also think alot of Kansans are realizing how extreme Brownback’s views are as time goes on.

I never want to bet on these things, but if she did I would vote for her. Roberts did a disservice to Kansas and the country by dragging his feet on the report. If there was nothing wrong that report it and be done with it. If there was something wrong then he owed it to his country to disclose it!

“Sen. Sam Brownback’s approval rate was 50 percent.” For an elected official who is never there to vote? Again, shows just how stupid people really are.

Rhonda asks, why did Roberts raise money he didn’t need?

    Shoot, Rhonda, he’s a Repuke, isn’t he?

When they get to heaven, they say, “is this all there is?”

Republicans entering heaven? That is too much to fathom with so little coffee.

Let her run and hope she wins. That way she can disappear into the haze of Washington DC never to be heard of again in Kansas.

She can adopt the Kerry-Clinton mantra of “I was for the War before I was against it” and fit right into the mainstream of the Washington Democratic Elite.

Then again, Roberts is much easier to spell than Sebelius. :)

No, no….don’t do it Gov. Lady! Kansans all think they are farmers and Pat’s going to send them a government check and we don’t care about the war. Hell, we’re not the ones doing the dying thing. Besides, we love it when some good ole boy lies to us. Makes us think we are smart. You, Gov Lady are not a ‘good ole boy’.

She shouldn’t try with Roberts. But she can win easily against Brownback.

You have to remember that Brownback’s term is up for re-election the same year that Sebelius’s term is up.

    Perfect timing.

Rhonda, you say there is not a good explanation of why he raised $650,00. The reason is that he is trying to keep Sebelius out of the race. Like him or not, that is a pretty good reason to scare off any challenge. Actually pretty smart.

Amazing Roberts had 61 % support, but Kansas has a disproportionate number of 26% so it should be expected. The Dems. should launch an investigation into whether Roberts was obstructing the SIC committees business.

An intriguing idea. If Sebelius runs in 2008 she does not have to give up the Gov office. In effect; she gets a free bite at the apple. And, if she wins her Lt Gov takes over and is set for 2010.

Unfortunately, KS Democrats just don’t have many ‘up-and-comers’ available; either for that run OR to go against Tiahrt. I think Tankerless Todd would be very vulnerable against a good opponent.

Sebelius would be smarter to run in ‘10 for Brownback’s seat – it would be easy for her. Going against Roberts would be way to big of an expensive fight – plus he has a huge campaign war chest. Also, with all he’s done lately for Kansas: farm bill, Greensburg aid, etc., it would be hard for her to beat him.

Anyone else notice she is kinda hot? A MILF in a hot grannie kinda way, but yet not grannie, it’s hard to explain.

She seems to try and look a certain way in order to be taken seriously, but if she died that hair, showed some cleavage… WOW

Bilious Sebelius is about to get smeared with blood guilt so badly over shielding criminal abortionist quack Tiller from justice that her political career will never recover. Mark it down.

A 51% approval rate in a solidly Republican state has got to suck, the guy in vulnerable to any challenger.

If people cannot spell Sebelius any better than Roberts, then they deserve the kind of representation Roberts has been giving Kansans.

Roberts is nothing but a lap dog for George W. Bush and he has proved it time and time again. The only reason the farmers vote for Pat Roberts is because of the farm bills. But as I hear so many of them grumbling this year, it might not be a bad idea to see what Sebelius does do up against Roberts.

It would be fun to watch because I think Sebelius is one smart woman. She certainly makes the rest of the Kansas politicians look less than desirable.

Sebelius would be a viable senatorial candidate, but with all of Tiller’s money behind her I’m not sure she’d be electable.

If she indeed has “all of Tiller’s money behind her” and if Tiller performs as many abortions as the abortion-abolitionists claim, then she would be able to easily buy the Presidency. (Hopefully her purchase would be a better investment than it has been for W)

Well, Pat Roberts’ 51% approval rating is significantly higher than the Nancy Pelosi-led Democratic Congress’ approval rating of 14%, isn’t it?

    “14%”

They are measuring different things. The 14% is “approve greatly” not just approve. Congress wins about 30% nationally on that; keep in mind that the GOP can still block the Senate and that is reflected in the low numbers.

    And Bush is even lower.

By the way – Roberts shares in that 30% NATIONALLY.
