Former Eagle editor responds to bias complaint

Former Wichita Eagle managing editor Clark Hoyt (1981-85) did a “soft launch” Sunday of his soon-to-be regular column as the New York Times’ new “public editor.” Hoyt’s job is to examine and critique the Times’ news judgments, and he said he couldn’t resist writing about the newspaper’s decision not to put on its front page an article about the alleged terrorism plot at Kennedy Airport in New York City. Some readers — and Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly — had accused the Times of bias for not giving the story better play. But Hoyt reported that the news decision was based on the Times’ determination that — contrary to the apocalyptic statements that a U.S. attorney made in announcing the charges — the ability of the accused men to carry out an attack “was very much open to question.” Nonetheless, Hoyt agreed the article would have been better on the front page, because it “would have told readers that the Times knew what they were concerned about, that there was something real here, but that it wasn’t anywhere near happening and there was no need for alarm.”

Yeah, But that would have given readers a clue about the phony “war on terror” being just that, a phony slogan and not for real, and “Homeland Security” being nothing more than a Bushco burocracy to scare Americans into supporting neocon/Zionist Jew plans for conquest of the Middle East oil fields.

That “Kennedy Thing” was right up there with those 7 kids from Florida, which the FBI had taking an “al-Qaida oath” to knock-down the Sears Tower in Chicago, when the whole lot didn’t have the wherewithal to even buy themselves matching boots which they requested from the FBI after submitting their shoe sizes.

The phony “war on terror” needs a lot of help to seem real and the NYT just didn’t want to “play along” with Bush’s Zionist Jews of Israel, whose only claim to fame is killing defenseless Palestinians in refugee camps.

The world of propaganda and the Zionist blogger who calls itself: “Republican,” aw yes,….will it never end?

    { The rules: It you catch Jews doing rotten things or lying {speaking } and point it out, that’s called anti-semitism even though Arabs are also Semites }

    Go Figure…

Ed is a Bigot.Even the New York Times can probably figure that out, but the rest of the world, reading this Blog, needs to realize that most people in Kansas can see Ed for what he is.Ed doesn’t seem to realize that Hamas and Fatah are currently killing each other, and that Israel and the United States have nothing to do with the Palestinian civil war.The most common form of death in Gaza is “honor killing” or the brutal murder of Moslem women for the “dishonor” of their family. With Palestinians constantly killing their own, in large numbers, Ed seems to think that everything can be blamed on Israel or the “Jews” — even though there is NO stable Palestinian leader for Israel to negotiate with, and even though the Palestinian people have been kicked out of every Arab or Moslem Country that COULD kick them out.Other Arabs treat Palestinians like dogs. The Israeli government employs Arabs. There are Arabs who serve as elected officials in the Israeli government. There isn’t a Jew, anywhere in the world, that serves in an Arab or Moslem government.

Ed and the New York Times do have one thing in common:

Neither of them want you to know any of this!

When the New York Times calls me, in violation of the “Do Not Call List,” in order to sell me a subscription, I usually tell the telemarketer that she or he works for a treasonous rag and that their editor and publisher both belong in jail.

    — Maybe some “wisdom” from Kansas will improve that liberal rag. Clark Hoyt’s explanation of the latest NYT outrage doesn’t quite cut it, however. The NYT does not WANT stories about terrorist plots that were stopped. The NYT wants to print FAILURE because the NYT is UnAmerican and wants Bush to fail so badly that they will not print any success stories concerning the War on Terror.

The NYT also will not do a story on how many people on the anti-war left are also Jew-hating bigots like Ed!

Hmmm, figuring the ability of the men in a crime is a standard now for assessing crime?

I suppose that leaves the gates wide open for blue-eyed, blond-haired, clueless surfer girls to become the next crime syndicate as no one would suspect them to have the ability to do so.

Since when did just reporting the news become less significant than editorializing and placing one’s own value on the story that important?

I’m sure they talk about this in journalism class don’t they?

    I’m mean, consider these statements:

    Factual reporting, no editorializing first.

“Three men with masks entered the First Federal Bank and robbed it of thirty three dollars. The suspects fled on foot and disappeared.”

    Now with editorializing the news.

“Three black men, thought to be gang members perhaps of the notorious Capcha gang, terrorized customers and employees of the First Federal Bank. It is not known if these are the same hoodlums who robbed the Second National last week. Reporters on the scene found personal effects on the bank floor scattered indicating a rifling of purses and wallets. The bank manager, a frail elderly man thought to be having a heart attack was later rushed to the emergency room. Whereabouts of the bank robbing gang members were thought to have fled the bank by foot and most likely rounded the corner to a get a way vehicle. Citizens should be on the look out for a dark SUV with tinted windows as one was driving by shortly after the crime.”

    The Police Report:

“Three men, all Hispanic were caught on surveillance tape had entered the First National Bank at 0901 a.m. this morning. A woman exiting the bank the same time the men were entering bumped into one of the suspect and spilled her purse on the floor. One of the three, an elderly Hispanic was helping the woman pick up her contents and noticed the bank robbery in progress. The elderly man fled from the scene and called 911. The other two Hispanic males went to one window where they demanded cash and the bank teller gave them thirty three hundred dollars of the drawer money. The suspects walked from the bank, crossed the street and got into a red, 1978 Datsun four door sedan. No more details at this time as the case is still under investigation.”
