Corporations should not help criminals con senior citizens

One of the largest compilers of consumer information, InfoUSA, sold data on millions of elderly people to known lawbreakers, the New York Times reported. It offered database categories such as “Elderly Opportunity Seekers,” which boasted 3.3 million elderly folks looking for ways to make money, and “Suffering Seniors,” which had 4.7 million people with cancer or Alzheimer’s disease. Once the crooks trick senior citizens, some major banks make it easy for the criminals to access bank accounts without authorization.

There needs to be criminal action taken against these aiders and abettors.

    InfoUSA has some powerful friends:

“Last week, we revealed that former president Bill Clinton was on the payroll of Infousa, the Nebraska company that supplied lists of vulnerable elderly people to con artists who then defrauded the unsuspecting victims. Internal e-mails suggest that employees of Infousa were aware that some of their clients were under investigation for these revolting predatory practices.

Since 2001, Infousa has paid Bill Clinton $3.3 million, although it’s not at all clear what he was supposed to do for the money — other than fly on the company’s jet for vacations and golf games with Infousa’s CEO. Infousa CEO, Vin Gupta, has made the Infousa corporate jet available for the Clintons to travel in style to Hawaii, Switzerland and Jamaica — at a cost of more that $900,000.”

Fortunately my bank has a fraud unit, if one wants to call it that. If I make a purchase on my credit card that might look suspicious (Internet or from a company on a watch list) they always call me and verify that I wanted to purchase that item or service.

Having that type of service from a bank is important.

Okay, I’ll plug their name, Fidelity (good folks.)

With today’s technology, I am surprised that no one has invented a screening button on telephones. Maybe there is one?

A button that would not answer/block computer generated phone calls, calls from outside your area code or generally calls not on your list of desired callers.

Perhaps this is the solution rather than making some convoluted legislation where these profiteers would find some way around.

Hey, Sam Brownback needs that list of the old and feeble. Maybe he could trick them into voting for him. If he doesn’t rack up some major numbers soon, he’s going to have to go back to work.

“anonymous” tells the story behind this story – though only the NY Times and NY Post reported this most critical aspect of this report.

That is, the Clintons are both getting millions of dollars from this scam company. And some want Hillary to be the next President so she can scam all of America, not just the elderly.

And BTW, for those who don’t already know, Dick Morris (the author of the NY Post article) is a former campaign manager and advisor to Bill Clinton.

Not many people know the Clintons more intimately then Dick Morris.

Dam Max, I knew them Clintons was in on it! I wouldn’t put it past that alleycat Bill to be lining them old ladies and stainin their dresses. He used to like them younger women but he’s gittin older, you know.

Leave it to the Democrat Party to want to put 2 members of the same family in the white house. If they was good Patriotic Americans, they wouldn’t do that kind of stuff.

Dick Morris, that old toe fetish perv – paid prostitutes to suck his toes.

Pervert. The Clintons fired the old Dick, and now he works for Fox Noise as the resident Clinton basher.

Jeez, do you think that he would bash the Clintons without justification just to “earn” his salary?

    Naw!

At least Bill had Monica move up a little higher.

I noticed that only two Libs posted on this thread and those were of more hate and perversion.

Seems the Libs on this blog only care if they score “blog points.”

    Self-absorbed haters.

Just another Clinton scandal. Why should this one get any more press then the other ones that were swept under the rug?

“Shareholder critics are furious that Gupta had InfoUsa pay former President Bill Clinton $2.1 million in “consulting fees” since he left the White House, with another $1.2 million promised.

Gupta has also spent roughly $1 million of InfoUsa funds to provide corporate jet flights for both President Clinton and his wife Hillary.

Pelosi’s son Paul acknowledged he has also been taking trips on corporate jets provided by Info USA.

    Paid $180,000 for Second Job

Just four weeks after Nancy Pelosi became speaker of the House this past January, Gupta and InfoUSA hired her son as a senior vice president. He told NewsMax InfoUsa pays him $180,000 a year.

Even though his job with InfoUSA is considered full-time, Paul Pelosi continues another full-time job, as a home loan officer at Countrywide Home Loans, part of Countrywide Financial, in San Mateo, a suburb of San Francisco.”

And where are those 1,000 FBI files delivered to the Whitehouse for Clinton to read-up on his political enemies? They find them all yet?

Hillarys probably got em now, using em to gain favors.

Why else did Kerry and Gore not run this year?

Maybe Vince Foster took the files with him!

They find Hillary’s fingerprints on that gun used in the suicide?

You know, that gun found 25 feet away from Foster’s body.

Guess he threw it after he shot himself.

Had to dig deep for this one, going all the way to Pittsburg:

Last month, Hillary Clinton sought and obtained an extension of time to file her presidential candidate financial disclosure statement. Unlike the information required of senators, this filing requires her to list not just the sources of Bill’s income but exactly how much they paid him.

While Sen. Clinton offered no reason for the postponement, one cannot help wondering if it involves a desire to conceal infoUSA’s payments to her husband while the company is under fire.
