Boys and Girls complex is another model for the nation

President Bush’s planned visit to Wichita on June 15 will put a national spotlight on a great public-private partnership: the new Boys & Girls Club complex on East 21st Street. In addition to helping celebrate the opening of the new club, Bush will tour the Opportunity Project preschool and be able to see where a new Wichita public school is being built.
Russ Meyer, chairman emeritus of Cessna Aircraft Co. and the driving force behind the complex, encouraged Bush to come. It will be the second presidential visit to a project in the area connected with Meyer; President Clinton visited Cessna’s 21st Street training facility in November 1997.
During that visit, Clinton called the training facility "a model for the nation." The Boys & Girls complex is one, too.

I don’t recall, did Clinton do a fund raiser while he was here?

No, The Phantom, Bill did not do a fund raiser and Tiahrt had the nerve to appear with him while at the same time trashing him in public. Just good politics, I guess.

My kids had the unfortunate opportunity to attend this Boys and Girls Club a couple of years ago. The plan was for them to attend all summer. The reality was that they attended for a week. This is a poorly ran, undersupervised facility that lets the older children monitor the younger(kinda like the blind leading the blind). Everyday when I picked my kids up, they had a huge bag of cheese doodles to bring home(very healthy). There were instances where the older children(monitoring the younger)actually picked on the younger children.

This is a perfect place for Bush to show his face. From the outside and if you don’t know better, the facility looks like a model “inner city” program. But the reality is that this is just a poorly run public daycare.

I certainly hope that President Bush’s visit isn’t marred by a bunch of loud-mouthed protestors that reflect badly on our city.

    Hehehehehe . . .

Bush only came because a bigwig buddy asked him to. How nice. OF course he wouldn’t come just because it was a good thing to do.

Let’s give a hand to Russ Meyer. He has brought two presidents to Wichita. Name another person in town that has done that.Clinton, a Democrat, and Bush, well, whatever Bush is.

    Still, props to Russ.

Don’t worry Capn…..secret service will keep the protesters far, far away from the sight line of the President. We all know how he can’t handle those that disagree with him. Program all the televisions in the city to Faux News….get the anti abortion truck out…..rally the neo’s…Jorge is coming to town!

Bush’s visit presents a great opportunity to for the freedom loving local activists from both end of the political spectrum to unite to demonstrate against the corrupt district attorney, family law and juvenile district courts judges, family law attorneys and SRS officials in Wichita. It doesn’t matter if you are concerned about the covers up of police brutality or illegal 3rd trimester abortions at Tiller’s clinic, we live under a fascist legal system in Kansas maintained over several generations by elitist judges and big law firm partners with the express purpose of consolidating power and covering up illegal or unethical acts of the elitists class regardless if the US Attorney for Kansas, the governor, attorney general or local chief administrative judge are Democrat or Republican. Despite their efforts to differentiate themselves to the voters on different civil rights issues, they are all elitist attorneys whose only loyalty is to their own class. The great irony is that the numbers of outrageous domestic violence and child abuse cases seems to be on the rise despite the plethora of non-profit advocacy groups that operate in Wichita financed with tax payer funding under the boards of directors containing these same elitist attorneys or their spouses. Maybe if enough people demonstrated, the Wichita Eagle will start investiating corruption instead of printing endless stories about BTK, Visioneering or other do-gooder organizations. I wonder how Asst. Police Chief Teri Moses has time to do her job if she spends so much time volunteering on several boards of non-profit organizatons and various government commissions.

I hate to be cute, but you really should ask the investigative reproters – Dion Leffler or Tim Potter who refused to cover our groups allegations.

My phone number & e-mails are listed if you want me to e-mail send you scanned, irrefutable documentation.

I will give the Eagle credit for not censoring my messages.

Your chance to call Bush, “the shrub” or “Augustus Stupidus” or all those other names to his face.

If you don’t do it, then you have no balls and are a bunch of sniveling cowards.

Capn, while you are hardly “the management” (except in your own mind) we do agree on this one. Bill’s nuts. I should hook him up with a nut I’m having to do a brief on here; they’d make a fine team. I’m just afraid that much paranoia in one room might form a black hole . . . .

Russ Meyer did put his name on Joe Williams forarena website.

If Presidents come at his request, so many doubt his desire to improve Wichita? When he’s says its a good idea, who won’t listen?

I hope the Boys and Girls club works out. More positive programs than just day care. No matter a new building, the programs have to flexible and interesting what the community desires.

The YMCA here has set a high bar on creating facilities.

    Well I disagree.

This is the definition from American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language

    e·lit·ism or é·lit·ism (-ltzm, -l-) KEY

    NOUN:

The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.

The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class.Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.

That sounds not at all like liberals….whoooooo does that remind me of….oh who could it be, that decries the poor should get no healthcare, that the rich can choose to pay squat wages…

    who could that be.

BILL IS A WISE MAN!!!!I am witness to the truth that he put forth yesterday, and have personal info about some of these people who have ruled Wichita and the whole of Kansas with a dark hand for at least a century. This visit by the president to the B&G Club is planned and associated with one of Bush’s pirates who is from Wichita.
