Not surprisingly, large American companies have shifted their campaign contributions away from Republican candidates in favor of Democrats, according to the Wall Street Journal. Some Democrats who were passed over by large corporations in the past are seeing substantial increases in their coffers.
Since those who raise the largest campaign funds generally win elections, corporations are casting votes for pro-business candidates with campaign dollars. Another of those “chicken and egg” questions: Does money generate power, or does power generate money?

Easy. The money follows the power. Corporations seek favors from gov’t; they contribute to those who can provide those favors. Party labels or ideology mean little; seeking favorable legislation matters. Business often gives to both sides, hedging their bets.
The only way to change this is to get gov’t out of the favor dispensing business. But as long as gov’t is the regulatory goliath that it is, that will not happen.
So the game will continue. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
As long as government hands out the corporate welfare checks, this practice will continue. In my opinion, any company that makes millions in profit do not need any help from the government.
If we truly are free-market capitalism, then why would any self-respecting business EXPECT a handout from the government?
A lot of Businesses give to both sides, that way they don’t lose access.
Funny that it’s all blamed on corporations.
The biggest welfare precipitants are the people, not corporations.
Politicians don’t give money away to corporations, they give them tax breaks for investment in new technology or providing jobs.
Without companies, there would be no jobs, no tax revenue for government and therefore no handouts to people to mooch off of.
People who think corporations are evil are either informed, unemployed, hatefully leftist or living off of trust fund money and having nothing else to do but have a worthless cause.
Typically, companies contribute to both parties to hedge their bets. However, they will give the most to the party who they think that will win and promote their agendas.
I notice they are switching over to the Democrats. Not a good sign Republican, huh?
Companies are giving more to socialist candidate for one reason, Socialized Medicine is The greatist gift ever for corporations. they will save billions of dollars..

Wouldn’t be the first time cat. Gore and Kerry ring a bell don’t they?
Besides, your best candidates, Obama and Clinton are scaring off the Moderates with all their Liberal attachments and ideologies.
They’re gonna get hosed.
The Democrats had best remember who brought them to the dance. Otherwise they will spend another 20 years out of power.
