Vote for Susie Flynn

A new contender in the presidential race is a fictional 10-year-old named Susie Flynn. According to the National Journal, she’s the spokesgirl for the Children’s Defense Fund’s Healthy Child campaign. The campaign is an attempt to stimulate more interest in providing health insurance for the 9 million American children who have none.
Char Roseblade, the real spokeswoman for CDF media consultant Fallon Worldwide, explained in a release: “Adults and politicians should feel embarrassed that it takes a child to drive awareness and encourage involvement to solve this problem.”

Why not? After all, Reagan proved that the concept of having fictional president played by a B actor works politically. Personally, I like the idea of a fictional 10 yr old girl as president. Be quite a contrast to the macho testosterone drenched presidency of the past, and give us a kinder, gentler image as a nation (and probably kinder and gentler than with a real 10 yr old girl) that could mend all those broken fences with our neighbors in the world.Susie Flynn for President!

Maybe she should run as a republic since they are so unhappy with their candidates?

Naaaaw. She cares about children and healthcare. They wouldnt like her. They prefer blastocyst protection over the protection of live children.

Shes lucky the Global Warmers haven’t done her in yet. Last week they called for people to stop having children since they are the biggest detriment to the enviro with such a big carbon footprint.

It might work out though…no kids – no health care needed – no enviro problem…heh, all solved.

So be on the lookout for little children with the footprint of a deranged enviro-terrorist on their back.

Dont know how Gore will be able to live with himself with so many kids. Maybe he will recycle a couple of them.

    Mrbill,

The other day on Faux Noise Channel, a “conservative” commentator blamed cows for “most of the planet’s greenhouse gases.”

    Tom–

Was HE blaming cows, or was he commenting on the UN REPORT

    Littlejohn,

‘Twas a “she” (not that it matters), and there was no context given to her statement. It was in a general discussion about GW, and tossed out there as though it was an established fact. Beyond that, I don’t know about the UN report. I’ll read your link, though. Thanks.

Tom, When we were in Iowa recently the headline on the front page was a lead in to a story about how methane gas has been captured from the cows as they were being milked and then this was somehow turned into an energy source. They also collected the waste and somehow this was transferred to energy.

I think this was the link on the initial experiment.

The gas from cows ‘emissions’ has long be known to be a polutant as well as an explosive substance. The first I heard about it was just after Mt. St Hellens erupted.

Odd you are just hearing about this.

    Ksgrm,

I know that cattle are methane producers. What struck me as funny/silly/ridiculous about the Faux Noise comment was the assertion that cattle produce “most of” the greenhouse emissions.

Tom- I think it’s tupid, but here is a paragraph from my linked story. The 400-page report by the Food and Agricultural Organisation, entitled Livestock’s Long Shadow, also surveys the damage done by sheep, chickens, pigs and goats. But in almost every case, the world’s 1.5 billion cattle are most to blame. Livestock are responsible for 18 per cent of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, more than cars, planes and all other forms of transport put together.

About 10-12 years back, conservative common taters were having a field day reporting that some scientist got a government grant to study flatulence in cows. I guess that study has paid off now.

A fictional 10-yr girl could do no worse than the puppet we’ve had in the White House the last 6 years.
