There are some interesting excerpts from Ronald Reagan’s diary in Howard Kurtz’s column in the Washington Post. More excerpts are being published next month in Vanity Fair, and a book about the diaries is due out this month. The diaries cover Reagan’s eight years in the White House and discuss both administration and family problems.

I look forward to reading it.
The last four years must be rather blank.
It’ll be interesting to see if there’s anything about the Bush family.
Word on the street is that Reagan thought the Bushs’ rather a bunch of hicks . . .
Gee, let’s hope the diaries have a better memory of reality than Reagan ever did… Almost every time the man said, “I remember…” you could count on some huge error following…
