DevVB has had to chance to just say that he wasn’t aware that it was considered a racial slur.

Easy enough.

I think the simple truth is that there is an underlying bit of racism in ultra conservative ideology. Why else would Limbaugh always go for the wink and nod type humor that he does.

Whereas, Fleetwood and Rebuplitroll will deny the above to their last breath, all the while making racist type jokes that they are either too dumb to see, or unable to see for some other reason.

In the black community and among decent white people, the term monkey is considered a racist, demeaning term, as noted in the Urban Dictionary.

Now, the way the term was used by Mr. DevVB was obviously not meant to be flattering, nor was it meant to be anything other than derogatory.

Now, substitute the word “nigger” for monkey.

How many folks would look at that usage and consider it benign?

The word is considered to be the same in the context that Mr. DevVB used it.

So, Mr. DevVB can continue to defend his use of the word, but right thinking people will still consider it to be racist.
