Rudy bites a hand that has fed his firm

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez famously called the current president "the devil." He might need a more complicated nickname for Rudy Giuliani, should the former New York City mayor win the White House. Giuliani, whose law firm represents an American subsidiary of the Chavez-controlled Citgo oil company, nevertheless blasted Chavez in a speech Tuesday: "Isn’t it annoying, upsetting and even in some cases a matter of national security that we have to send money to our enemies? We need a president who knows how to get things done so we don’t have to be sending money to Chavez." So Chavez can send it to U.S. law firms, many would add.

Go Rudy! I hope he is the nomination for the GOP in 08. This guy is incredible. Serial marrying, hypocrital, flip flopping , loser. I would like to know how right wingers feel about their candidates at this point. And I am not asking about those you wish were in the race. I want to know about how you feel about the current candidates.

I think Guiliani is more experienced than the ever-so-sensitive Obama who gets deeply offended by the “a” word. Think what will happen if Obama gets on the big stage and some foreign leader hurts his feelings.

What will Osama Obama do? Go cry to the NAACP or light up a cigarette as he nervously twitches in between nicotine patches.

I don;t know if I am a rightwinger, but I am a Republican, and the candidates that have presented themselves as the leader of the party Ie, Presidential nominee, is disappointing at the least.

    Littlejohn,

    You’re so not a right-winger. Trust me.

If the Republican Party were still controlled by people like you, people like me would still be Republicans.

Mike: In answer to your question, the level of competency and experience in the Republican field is far greater than the leading Dem candidates. Bill Richardson is the exception. If I was a Dem, I would be concerned. As an American, I am concerned.

Absent the current negative political environment the Republicans face, it would be no contest.

Some of us don’t waffle in our choices like others. A commitment to ideas requires steadfast decisions and sticking by them.

Drifting in the wind like a dandelion waiting for something to bump into the Democratic party of wafflers. A weed by any other name.

If Mr. Giuliani believes that “sending money to our enemies” obviously for oil purchases is a matter of national security (with which I agree), then I await breathlessly for his National Security speech where he details his plan for reductions/eliminations of petroleum imports, and how he proposes to accomplish this.

Right on cue, Republican chimes in with namecalling.

Please, Republican, let the grownups have at least one conversation that is absent your constant spew of cynical baiting.

    Pondscum, wafflers, and weeds. Indeed.

But I’m not going to hold my breath.

Good grief, republican has been on a bitter tear today. I think his whole philosophy must be

STAY THE COURSE (even if it isnt working)!

Actually, it wasn’t Obama who was offended. It was us right-thinking human beings who saw it as damning with faint praise.

Kinda like: Republican isn’t really as big an idiot as everybody thinks he is.

See, I stuck up for ya, Republican.

    I’m there for you, man.

As far a “Honey, can I bring my girlfriend home to live with us?” Giuliani goes, Chavez better be worried.

It wasn’t gassing Kurds or “rape rooms” that got Saddam in trouble. It was nationalizing the oil fields.

From that day on, the neo-cons had him marked for death . . .

Maybe if your wife or one of your family was in the “rape rooms” Capn, you’d have a different viewpoint.

How dare Venezuela think that the oil in their country actually belongs to them Iran and Iraq believed that nonsense in the past so we brought democracy to them. Hugo Chavez better watch out because Bush and Ms. Rudy might want to bring democracy to Venezuela.

    Republican–

If my wife was put in a rape room, I’d take care of bringing justice myself . . .

I wouldn’t wait for some outside country to do it for me.

Rudy eats lots of Italian food and he probably already puts out more than his share of wind power and methane gas. In fact, enough farts to heat New York City for a month!
