Fourth Justice Department official resigns

Another Justice Department official is gone, as Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty (in photo) announced his resignation Monday. McNulty had been under scrutiny for the firing of eight U.S. attorneys and his claim during Senate testimony that the firings were "performance-related."
Of the attorneys known to have been dismissed or considered for dismissal, nearly half were targets of GOP complaints that they were lax on voter fraud, the Washington Post reported. One former U.S. attorney, Todd P. Graves of Kansas City, was forced out after he refused to sign off on a lawsuit involving voter rolls.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales appears to be surviving, which doesn’t seem right to Senate Judiciary Committee member Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. "It seems ironic," Schumer said, "that Paul McNulty, who at least tried to level with the committee, goes, while Gonzales, who stonewalled the committee, is still in charge."

First Gonzo group resigns, then threatens to plead the fifth, then gets an immunity deal. This investigation isn’t over until the fat rove sings.

History will judge this administration in the same light it did with LBJ and Nixon. Our children will be asking us…..”were you all smoking that new drug meth?” We all will be more ashamed as time goes on and we have a chance to reflect.

Of course, it’s all about “voter rolls” and “voter fraud.”

CONs like Rove know they don’t have the votes otherwise. They know that’s how they “won” the 2000 election, by disenfranchising Democrats, Democrats who just happen to be working class and-or people of color.

Any prosecutor who isn’t on their side is a liability.

“They know that’s how they “won” the 2000 election,…”

Do we have to take you to skool again about that election? Why do keep forgetting about Nader? You people do have a bad memory.Pelosi lied, people died.

The Democrats complained the longest and loudest about voter fraud and voter intimidation for years.

When Bush does something about it, by prioritizing U.S. Attorneys who will take care of the issue, what do the Democrats do?

They whine like soiled diaper babies.

    Wrong, again, diddly-squat.

    Democrats complain about ELECTION fraud.

    Big difference.

And what the Repukes were “doing about it” was MAKING IT WORSE for their own benefit of course.

To quote Republican, “how’s that working out for ya?”

@ CapnAmerica: “Pelosi lied, people died.”You’ll have to explain this statement. I am unaware of any instance where Pelosi, Speaker of the House, lied, causing the deaths of thousands of Americans and Iraqis. I was under the assumption that our President was the one responsible for starting the Iraq war.

@ fleettwood: The question is not “voter fraud.” You’re missing the point. In no way should any single political party be responsible for or take the initive on “cracking down on voter fraud.” This just invites all sorts of abuse. Furthermore, simply because an Attorney General doesn’t think it is important enough to pursue a punitive “voter fraud” case at the behest of the complaints of a single political party, doesn’t mean that that Attorney General was performing poorly. The issue is not performance, but the fact that these attorneys were forced out of their jobs because they did not submit to the requests to persecute on behalf of the political party in power.

I have to appologize to CapnAmerica. I misquoted my previous posts. The first @ should have been directed at fleettwood, not CapnAmerica.

The second @ statement should have been directed at Republican, not fleettwood.

Quoting from another blog does not count as supporting evidence, Fleet.

But we’ll give you credit for trying.

Yeah WSCLark, it’s an actual video of actual people saying actual words which shows the Democrats lie often and with great hypocrisy.

You would have to pay me to visit your blog, Republican, even if you had exclusive video of Bush and Cheney resigning their positions.

You seem to be heading for a JM-style meltdown, Republican. You might want to take it easy for a bit. Your BP is rising by the minute.

  17. Posted May 15, 2007 at 7:59 pm | Permalink

I noticed J M was melting down by laughing maniacally about the vacuum in his own mind. Thanks for pointing that out WSClark.

Blood Pressure rising. Doubtful, I typically run 100/50. If anything I get too relaxed.

That would be a JM-style meltdown, Rep, not J M-style. J M Walker is an intelligent, well spoken poster. The “late, unlamented” JM did not meet any of those descriptions.

Regardless of your BP, you seem to have absolutely nothing to say these days, RepubliKhan other than attacks on the left and progressive ideals. Melting down might be your best course of action.

But, as they say, who gives a damn about what you think?

So as a former Fister WSClark who vowed never to return to WE Blog, I guess your word can’t be trusted.

You used the Wichita Voice like a snot rag, then threw it away, once you oozed your brains out on the Web Page tissue.

I would say my stance here, is heads and tails above a continuous liar and blow hard who claims many things and represents nothing but his alcoholic state.

“represents nothing but his alcoholic state.”

Yep, headed right for a JM-style meltdown, Republican.

Name calling, false accusations, overblown verbiage, yada, yada, yada.

You would be funny, Republican, if you weren’t so sad.
