Why stop all the surging with Iraq?

No telling whether Arizona Sen. John McCain’s Wednesday speech vigorously defending the Iraq war as “necessary and just” will start a surge in his presidential campaign, just as there’s no telling yet whether the troop surge will work.
But the Associated Press story on McCain’s speech included ideas for two alternate surges, suggested by Democratic presidential candidates:
“What we need today is a surge in honesty,” said Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., calling for leaders to let “the Iraqi government know America will not be there forever.”
“We need a surge of diplomacy,” said Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn.
And noncandidate Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., said a while ago on “Meet the Press” that “we need a surge of concern for our troops, for the veterans, for the injured, for the wounded, for the families of those who lost loved ones.”
What surges do bloggers think we need about now?

We need a surge of Common Sense. We need a surge of true leadership and planning, or we could just create a Czar of Chaos, to lay the blame on, and be a lightning rod for this ungrounded Administration. Any volunteers out there ,feel free to self nominate!

I call for a surge of patient strategy.

I call for a surge of civility by those who on a daily assail the President of the United States in the most horrific terms.

I call for a surge of admittance by Democratic Leaders that they did indeed admit to being very concerned about WMD and the reasons to invade Iraq to do something about it.See the video here if you don’t believe me.http://republikan.typepad.com/republikansan/2007/04/democratic_part.htmlI call for a surge of American People to acknowledge that we don’t bomb and run. We have a long and honorable history of helping those countries lead by dictators that we have defeated through battle. Not to see it through is beyond dishonorable, it is disgraceful and un-American.

I believe there will be a Surge of Liberal Democrats ad hominem remarks after this post. :)

I seek surge in courageous honesty to face up the misdeeds of US Government when abandoning the Nation’s ideals for ill-begotten material gains, often in the form of propping up the same tyrannical dictators in places all over the world, supporting their campaign of suppression of local populace.

    Remember, Djakarta is coming!

I call for a surge of blood to the brains of those who think “stay the course” is a strategy.

The latest betrayal of our soldiers (extending tours to 15 months) will only add to the problems encountered at Va and Military hospitals. A withdrawal is in order until this administration can demonstrate any real management / planning skills. Throwing more bodies at Iraq for longer periods of time will only make matters worse ….

A surge to impeach / censure this group of fools is in order …. do not give them the ability / power to waste any more lives on their ego driven passion for world economic domination.

George W. Bush was never cut from presidential cloth, never has he shown the intelligence to be a president of the United States of America, and his disrespect for the constitution is reprehensible.

If any of you are having any difficulty understanding me, he’s an idiot with blood on his hands.

    That’s a fact Jack…

About arrogance. Yeah, Bush is Arrogant. So is Clinton, Romney, Guiliani, Edwards, etc. In fact, I would go so far as to say that anybody actively seeking the job, is arrogant as hell. I think it takes a huge amount of arrogance to think you can do the job. Some are just better at hiding it than others.

That is true littljohn. Difference is; arrogance is less objectionable when coupled with competance.

I’m angry as a woman, the prosecuter was right to try to believe her story. However, once it was realized that she was lying, he should have dropped it immediately.

This is why women get screwed over when real rapes happen. It makes me furious.

Generals should have the right to tell a president no way jose without fear of reprisal. Too many have retired under this administration…not a good sign.

    This says it all:

Lt. Gen. William OdomDirector of the National Security Agency, 1985-88It’s a huge strategic disaster, and it will only get worse. The sooner we leave, the less the damage.

The point about the Democrats seeing the same intelligence is a red herring.

The Bush Bunch had already made-up their minds to invade Iraq as a part of the PNAC, Neocon, Zionist run White House “rule the World plan,” and the democrats were fed phony intel, which the “Bush Bunch” had concocted.

The same “Intel?… Not a chance.
