What the “D.C. Madam” says are 46 pounds of phone records involving 10,000 clients are beginning to hit the fan. Randall Tobias, head of foreign aid programs for President Bush, resigned Friday after acknowledging to ABC News that he used the escort service owned by Deborah Jeane Palfrey, though he said it was “to have gals come over to the condo to give me a massage,” not for sex. Palfrey denies that her employees were prostitutes, saying she was in the sexual fantasy business. But as she faces criminal charges, she said: “I’m sure as heck not going to be going to federal prison for one day, let alone four to eight years, because I’m shy about bringing in the deputy secretary of whatever.” Hypocrisy alert: Tobias’ responsibilities included coordinating global AIDS relief, which he did by favoring abstinence over condom use and by requiring aid recipients to swear their opposition to prostitution and sex trafficking.

Ain’t life a bi**h when the rubber meats (pun intended) the road, so to speak.
It will be interesting to see who crawls under the media rock as this develops. I’m sure this will be a bipartisan slaughter.
Ted Haggard simply got massages too.
“President Bush, resigned Friday”
Out of text, but sure does sound good.
how does Rhonda get to Hypocrisy here? massages – condoms?
huh?
what am I missing here…and the lady says they weren’t hookers…so where’s the Hypocrisy
Clinton got a political whuppin’ for having sex with the hired help (a major, major no-no in the real world), then fibbing about it. Good, he deserved it.
Now let’s get the names of every hypocrite in DC who got a “massage.” I don’t care if they’re Democrat or Republican or Green or Constitution Party or Whig or whatever. I’m just fed up with the “fun times for me, no civil rights for you” mentality that pervades that place.
“favoring abstinence over condom use”
” the lady says they weren’t hookers”
Yea sure poindexter. At $300/hour what were they?
$300 an hour?
Holy crap. That better not have shown up on anyone’s Government credit cards…
Tom – maybe he will claim it as a medical expense!
I find it interesting that the $300 an hour massage rate is the same as what a cheap DC lawyer charges.
Oh yeah. Same business.
Good one, outlander. and i notice you said cheap dc lawyer. the good ones charge a lot more to screw you
These are the same republiCONs who demand “abstinance only” pledges from high school kids.
Hypocrisy, thy name is republican.
If he wanted a massage, why didn’t he call a masseuse? A lot of masseuses will come right to your home, and for a hell of a lot less than $300 an hour. Were these hookers, er, “escorts” licensed to give massages?
Just wondering….
Love it! I just hope the Republicans who were screaming for Clinton’s head show up all over her records..and you know they will!
“Oh yeah. Same business.”
Not quite outlander. See, with the call girl the client gets to screw her. With the cheap DC lawyer it is the other way around.
Guess it all depends on which part of the body is getting massauged, and which part of the body is doing the massauging. Bet Clinton is thinking, “Damn, why didn’t I think of that!”
This is going to be fun!
“Tobias is the second prominent man to be identified as a customer of the Palfrey’s “sexual fantasy service.” Two weeks ago, Palfrey alleged that military strategist Harlan K. Ullman, creator of the “shock and awe” combat theory and now a senior associate with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, was also a customer.
Also on Palfrey’s list of customers who could be potential witnesses are a Bush administration economist, the head of a conservative think tank, a prominent CEO, several lobbyists and a handful of military officials.”
What I suspect will happen soon is this- the charges will probably quietly “go away” as they often do in these cases. Especially since many of the folks bringing the charges are probably on the client list.
Let’s see if I remember this; the people in that little black book were the ones who swore to restore this nation’s moral values, teach abstinence and redeem marriage and family values from the morass of sexual wantonness? Apparently, they got rubbed the wrong way.
“…so where’s the Hypocrisy?”
I guess this story is not for the reality impaired. Jesus wept.
The $300/hr gals only gave massages. We don’t know what body parts of their clients they were massaging, or what body parts of the employed masseuses did the deep rubbing.
Hey, I know; let’s get the $300hr attorneys to screw the $300hr call girls, catch the whole business on videotape and kill two birds with one stone!
