Hillary Clinton’s inevitability factor took another hit Wednesday, as Barack Obama’s presidential campaign announced it raised $25 million in the first quarter from an astonishing 100,000 contributors. On Monday the Clinton camp released its own $26 million total, citing 50,000 donors. Clearly, those excited about Obama’s bid are doing more than showing up in droves for his campaign appearances. That means if Clinton wants the Democratic nomination, she will have to work harder to counter not only his charisma but his cash.
Meanwhile, a Chicago art student has tried to remind people that Obama is only human, via a messianic life-size sculpture of the candidate complete with halo (see photo). Titled "Blessing," David Cordero’s piece is "about caution in assigning all these inflated expectations on one individual, and expecting them to change something that many hands have shaped," the artist said.

Editors,
Obama as Jesus? CF2K thinks the graphic is hella funny.
But he thinks it may be a bit soon for the picture, and that the editors ought to be careful. After all, didn’t Donohue and the Catholic League raise a stink last week about another chocolate Jesus?
Let’s hope some artist doesn’t invoke the shrine of Hillary somewhere by making a Virgin Mary Hillary statue.
Of course riding into town on a donkey would definitely invoke symbolism.
Americans want to stop the waring in the Middle East as long as the price of Crude Oil is driving the American economy.
They voted to stop the threat to Crude oil and they didn’t get that, so it looks as though they’re willing to try again.
Obama is they only candidate with a clear intent to settle things down in the Middle East, which in turn settles things down in the American economy.
It take time to switch fuels, and with 40% of the world’s oil supply on fire our economy will crash.
Everything from gasoline to plastics is made from crude oil, even the computer you’re using now.
Another chocolate Jesus? Stop that CF.
I had fooled around with the “Plastic Jesus” lyrics until that controversy cooled. I’ll post what I had, just for kicks.
I don’t care if it rains or freezesLong as I got my chocolate JesusHanging on that big museum wallThrough the network news and the internetI’m a great big hit with the “free speech” setAnd with my chocolate Jesus I’ll go far.
I don’t care if the people hollarI’m busting my rear to make a dollarBut now they say I’m gonna lose my spot
It seems that folks don’t like the artThat includes the Savior’s private partsSo back to cleaning men’s rooms, I will go.Chocolate Jesus, Chocolate Jesus,With my chocolate Jesus, I’ll go far.
Obama is my number 3 choice for President but my first choice for VP. I think he is a great and well spoken candidate but he is young and has little experience. 8 years as VP and he would be a shoo in after 8 years. Edwards and Richardson and my first and second choices. Either would be able to win. Hillary must be stopped. If she wins I will vote for her but I think November would be a disaster for Democrats. Her negatives are too high, too many folks detest her and she has too much seedy business in her background (Whitewater anybody?). I am hopeful that we can settle on an opponet and make sure she does not win the nomination.

That was pretty funny. I’m looking at you with new eyes.
Obama is the next president of the United States. He’s the REAL uniter, not divider.
I agree with Capt. A – Obama has the best chance of uniting this country across party, ethnic, socioeconomic, religious and professional lines. “Young and inexperienced” is what they said about Bobby Kennedy, but we also need a candidate who is intellecutally sharp, not an egomaniac, and who will surround himself with trustworthy expert advisors. Obama may be young, but we need a candidate who can energize and inspire this country to new horizons, and I don’t see anyone else on the scene from any party who has the capacity to do this like Sen. Obama.
Actually Obama raised more money than Hillary.
$10 million of Clintons campaign funds were transfers from her Senate campaign warchest.
This had got to stop her and her supporters heart a bit to see that Obama is beating her out.
I can only say watch the Clinton Spin Machine go into action now. Obama watch out. Any secrets in the closet? Not for long. Your minister says your muslim ties are strong? Headlines watch out. Let the blood letting begin.
“No Drama” Obama is going to make the Hillary campaign squeal a bit.
What Hillary needs is more Southern Accent!
Sometimes the Libs accuse us of BILL CLINTON BILL CLINTON, but that is what is going to be her biggest problem. You can say he was popular and all the other crap, but she will have problems with it. Bush the First has been called Reagan’s 3rd term, Gore could not make it as Clinton’s 3rd term, because of the same problems Hillary will have.
An interesting point is whether or not Obama could carry Kansas in a primary or a general election since his mother is from Kansas. Maybe he could but I still think it would be hard for a Democrat to win there.
Gosh, no Obama bashing on this thread? Where is little miss hissy fit? She LOVES to bash Obama, call him ossama, bag on his middle name, and generally disparage him.
Losing the touch? Or facing reality?
I see a Clinton/Obama ticket in the future!!!!!!
How awesome would that be!!!!
Not awesome at all.
Obama is ok. Clinton is not.
