Et tu, Newtus?

I’m not sure that Newt Gingrich has any influence with the Bush administration — or even much within the Republican Party. But his call for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resign certainly doesn’t help the administration.
“This is the most mishandled, artificial, self-created mess that I can remember in the years . . . I’ve been active in public life,” Gingrich said on “Fox News Sunday” about the U.S. attorney firings. When asked if Gonzales should resign, Gingrich said the country “would be much better served to have a new team at the Justice Department, across the board.”

    What?!

    Newtie acting for “political reasons?!”

    I’m shocked.

    Shocked!

And here I’ve read so many posts by “Republican,” I was almost convinced that only evil Democrats acted for “political reasons.”

Sometimes, when there is no other option, political parties resort to responding to public opinion.

The utter incompetence of Alberto (nicknamed “Fredo” by Shrub) Gonzales is a striking example of the itter incompetence of George WMD Bush himself. And, by natural extention, it sullies any claim of competence of any Republican in office.

Newtie’s delusional if he thinks he has a chance to sit in the Oval Office, but even Newtie sees how badly George WMD Bush has screwed up Republican chances. Gonzo is merely the latest turd in the punchbowl for every Republican who hopes to get elected in 2008.

And, yes. It’s for “political reasons.” Because sometimes, for “political reasons” political parties have to pay attention to the people.

Republicans have gotten out of that habit.

The country would be much better too if the Republicans would not have 3 girlfriends outside of marriage and divorce their dying spouses while they are in the hospital fighting cancer like Newt did. This is from the party of “family values”.

Kev – and to make matters worse they lecture the rest of us on family values while cavorting with their mistresses.
