Will Brownback ease off the Darfur talk?

Time magazine columnist Joe Klein notes that the GOP presidential contenders farthest to the right, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, “spend far more time talking about good works than about sin,” calling them “Second Commandment Republicans.” Klein writes that because they continue to languish in the polls and must do well in Iowa, though, “The temptation will be to slouch back to hellfire and brimstone to unite conservative Christians.”

I would never count out the Religious Right, they have taken some blows here lately but still feel they are right and driven by God. There is still a decent sized voting block out there, one that will let its voice be heard in the elections to come. But the light has been shined on them and the majority are opposed to living in a Theocracy. If not Bin Laden would have just knocked on the door and said “Oh pretty please be a Moslem!”.

My best friend once said, “Oh Lord, please protect me from the Righteous!”. And yeah it was strange considering he was raise Fundamental Baptist. He is a member of the Immanuel Baptist church and was solidly behind Pastor Fox.

Speaking of, anyone else noticed Fox is now on one of the all Religion channels?

More to the point, I respect Brownback for one thing He DOES NOT change! Never has he made his views secret or deceptive. I was strongly for Mc Cain until he seem to try and appease the R.R. to the point I sent an E-mail to his office.

I have no intention of voting for Brownback as I strongly am apposed to his stances on many things. But I do admire his standing up for his believes, No I do not expect him to change simply to gain the RR votes.

You all are right! A man with morals who stands for what he believes, doesn’t hide his true colors, and fights for victims such as those who suffer in Darfur, would never be someone I’d vote for either!!!! I’d prefer someone with a hidden agenda, whose personality changes with the wind and the polls. Please, let’s all vote Democrat!

All politicians are liars. It’s what they do.When they lie to you about an issue you support, you think they are telling you the truth. If they told you the truth, you would not vote for them.
