Tiahrt is delegation’s power leader

Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard, has the highest “power ranking” among the Kansas delegation, according to Congress.org — though his overall ranking dropped dramatically after Democrats took over Congress last November. Tiahrt was ranked the 13th most powerful Republican and the 170th most powerful member of the 435-member U.S. House. Last year, he was No. 40. Rep. Dennis Moore, D-Lenexa, was next highest in delegation at No. 178, followed by freshman Rep. Nancy Boyda, D-Topeka, at No. 242 and Rep. Jerry Moran, R-Hays, at No. 296. In the Senate, Kansas’ Pat Roberts was ranked 67th and Sam Brownback was 73rd. The rankings were based on position, indirect influence and legislative activity. Overall, the Kansas delegation ranked 32nd of the 50 states.

Another reason, among many, to keep Tiahrt in Washington!

Sure Paul – but look at his trend. Dropping from 40 to 170. Maybe we need someone who will rise?

I don’t recall you thinking that way when Glickman was in office!

Interesting that Senator Brownback is in the bottom 25% of the 100 member U.S. Senate after ten years in the Senate. By the time he finishes his current term in three years and his self-imposed deadline to move on, he could very well be at the bottom of the heap.

On the other hand, after only about three months in the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Boyda is a little lower than the 50% point (#242 of 435).

So much for Brownback’s chances at being a viable candidate for President.

Notice too that Dennis Moore, with MUCH LESS SENIORITY, is very close to Tiahrt.

Why do I feel this was like a J.D. Powers and Associates market value on a car?

Despite the Democratic Parties rantings, Tiahrt continues to provide powerful D.C. influence for the State of Kansas and his Congressional District constituents.

He is quiet on the national news for sure. But I would rather have a quiet performance of a hard worker than a loud-mouth, blame everybody, do nothing Democrat like some states push in to Congress.

Given all the scandals and crimes and improper activity going on in the last Republican-controlled Congress, Tiahrt is probably quietly and quickly running away from the “13th-most-powerful” designation. At least, if he’s smart, he is.

    Oh wait…

Interesting that Tiarht’s ranking has dropped but yet if this was a stock that was dropping, you bet these same Republicans defending Todd, would sell him in a heartbeat.

If Tiahrt’s the strongest we have, we’re in trouble

Tiahrt is yesterday’s news. He is far to partisan to work in any kine of bipartisan coalition for the good of Kansas. NE Kansas will benefit because they have representatives who can be effective; south-central and western Kansas will be left out.
