AL GORE HAS BEEN CHALLENGED TO A DUEL!
I kid you not!
The Gauntlet has been thrown – will Al Gore except the challenge to debate Lord Monckton? Perhaps I was hoping for swords or at least gentlemanly Derringers, but no such luck. This is a duel of words – a debate challenge issued by the good Lord to our former (and perchance future?) Presidential candidate to back up his assessment, (or endorsement) of a film declaring gloom and doom throughout the Kingdom as a result of Global Warming.
[quote]“March 16, 2007
PERTH, SCOTLAND – In a formal invitation sent to former Vice-President Al Gore’s Tennessee address and released to the public, Lord Monckton has thrown down the gauntlet to challenge Gore to what he terms “the Second Great Debate,” an internationally televised, head-to-head, nation-unto-nation confrontation on the question, “That our effect on climate is not dangerous.” (http://ff.org/centers/csspp/docs/20070316_monckton.html)
Monckton a former policy adviser to Margaret Thatcher during her years as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom said, “A careful study of the substantial corpus of peer-reviewed science reveals that Mr. Gore’s film, An Inconvenient Truth, is a foofaraw of pseudo-science, exaggerations, and errors, now being peddled to innocent schoolchildren worldwide.”
Monckton and Gore have once before clashed head to head on the science, politics, and religion of global warming in the usually-decorous pages of the London Sunday Telegraph last November.
Monckton calls on the former Vice President to “step up to the plate and defend his advocacy of policies that could do grave harm to the welfare of the world’s poor. If Mr. Gore really believes global warming is the defining issue of our time, the greatest threat human civilization has ever faced, then he should welcome the opportunity to raise the profile of the issue before a worldwide audience of billions by defining and defending his claims against a serious, science-based challenge”.”[end quote]
Regardless of who would win, debates are cool and would be cooler to watch.
They could charge a ticket price, sell the video and send the profits to a child-related charity of their choice.
I’m all for that.
It would be great if something good could come of this.
Plus, it would be VERY entertaining.
Must see video

REVOTE ARENA RALLY
Wichita Kansas March 19, 2007-
A rally for the ReVote Arena Campaign will be held Sunday March 25 at the Sedgwick County Park. Supporters of ReVote Arena will have petitions on hand as well as other printed information. Several speakers will be on hand including organizers, civic leaders and invited guests.
The Sedgwick County Downtown Arena project required two votes and an aborted attempt to only pass in November 2004 by a small percentage. Voters who have signed the vast number of petitions thus far say they felt misled in the 2004 vote. Since that vote to approve the sales tax funding of the arena, citizens have lost faith in the project. Issues such as inadequate parking, cost overruns on land acquisition and estimated construction prices have led the public to one conclusion: We need to have the option of approving or disapproving the plan being presented now.
The site chosen has monitoring wells due to groundwater contaminates. Voters list concerns about the streets downtown handling the flow of traffic required and who would pay for those improvements.
The goal of this petition drive is to ask our elected officials at the County and State level to listen to Voters now or at re-election time.
The ReVote Arena Rally is Sunday March 25th at 3pm, Sedgwick County Park 13th street entrance.

hey Republican,
its been rumored that google was going to come out with thier own VoIP type service since the day ebay bought Skype and Google produced thier own instant message service…
The problem google has now is getting its service to the same quality as Vonage, Skype and the other first entry companies… The only way a late entry like Google can succeed at this type of endevor is for them to be better than everyone else…
I am still waiting on the match between Ann V Hillary! My money is on Hillary.
Tony: The RE-VOTE ARENA RALLY on Sunday afternoon sounds great. I plan to be there and hope a lot of interested people and WE Bloggers attend also. Jerry
oh come on writer, that will be like two drewling pit bulls fighting it out, you really dont want to watch, but cant help checking out the end result…

feel free to pass that letter around…
let everyone know.
Reply from a Parole Officer
I have been employed by the Kansas Department of Corrections for approximately 25 years. I am currently a Parole Officer I, though I have had higher paying jobs in the Department. If you saw my pay check you’d probably agree I am not in this line of work for the money. I love my work.
I am not writing this letter in any official capacity. This is merely a letter to state my opinion.
I have been alarmed by recent articles involving Parole Officers and the work they do. It appears that there is a simplistic view that says “If a parolee breaks the conditions of their release – that parolee should be returned to prison.” I understand the emotional appeal for that view, and I understand the good feeling we get when a “bad guy” gets their due. But this viewpoint is not based in reality.
The fault with a “send ‘em back – lock ‘em up” mentality is that it fails to take in account that “parolee” is not a be-all or end-all description of a person. A parolee may be serving you at a local restaurant, they may be servicing your car, or they may be the service representative sent by a large firm to assist in problem-solving at your company. Parolees are involved in every aspect of our society. They are not only involved in criminal activity.
Parolees do violate conditions of their release. But if we send a parolee back to prison every time they violate a condition of parole – it won’t be long before employers and landlords will no longer consider, let alone hire or house, parolees.
Do I hear someone say that’s not my problem? Maybe it is. If employers no longer hire parolees, and parolees can no longer get housing, then we have successfully kept a person from making positive changes in their lives that help them to be a safe, contributing member of our community. Instead, we develop an outcast with whom society is always at war.
Some may say it is the parolee’s fault for violating parole in the first place. It is their fault for committing a crime in the first place. I can’t disagree with that logic. It’s true. But it doesn’t change the fact that these people have committed crime(s) and it doesn’t alter the fact they do violate conditions of release. It also doesn’t alter the fact that they do live in the community among us. We must deal with facts and reality, not just emotion.
I do not expect every parolee I meet to be able to exercise the same judgment that a mature, responsible citizen exercises. If parolees had the ability to use that kind of mature, responsible judgment they would not go to prison in the first place. Surprisingly, most parolees also have good attributes. I try to meet parolees where they are. If they have small successes – I genuinely commend them.
I have marveled that a parolee got to an appointment on time. Seems like a small accomplishment doesn’t it? But I have seen a parolee ride a bicycle in the dead of winter, clear across town, so he wouldn’t miss a meeting. Getting to an appointment on time is a small accomplishment for most of us – but a huge success for some parolees.
On the other hand, when a parolee violates conditions of their release – and public safety is not affected – I try to work with them to change that offending behavior. Should I just “send ‘em back” for every violation? If that is what is expected I’d better find a different line of work.
Parole Officers, like Police Officers, Teachers, Doctors, Nurses and every other human being, have no crystal ball. When looking back we often second-guess our actions and wish we had done things differently. Perhaps a citizen would not have been victimized if we had immediately locked up a parolee at the first sign of trouble. But, in the big picture, how many more victims would we create by locking up every parolee at the first sign of trouble? How many more victims would surface if Parole Officers fail to try to give a parolee the tools and motivation to change their behavior? How many more crimes would be committed if Parole Officers fail to attempt to convince parolees to be contributing members of society.
Parole Officers have a thankless job. We can never point to crimes that do not occur as the result of our work with a parolee. We can never see the person who avoids being victimized as the result of our work.
Unfortunately it is very easy to point at a crime or a victim and say “this perpetrator would have been in prison and unable to commit a new offense if the PO had revoked sooner.”
And I know from personal experience that Parole Officers struggle with that very thought every time a person is victimized by someone we supervise.
Luis, very thoughtful post. It’ll be interesting to see the wingnut reaction.

Been meaning to get out to SG county park to take my son fishing anyway.

You seem well informed in attacking Al Gore. I have to wonder if you have seen the documenatary “An Inconvenient Truth”. YOU know, so you are fully informed on global warming?
Monckton challenges Al Gore to a climate change debate?http://ff.org/centers/csspp/docs/20070316_monckton.html
ROFLMAO!
Will Monckton bet money on winning? He almost lost his house when he made a puzzle challenge, and it was easily solved.
But it’s fun to read Monckton’s many errors, published in the right-wing ‘Daily Telegraph’, and the UFO conspiracy journal ‘Nexus’.
‘Even Monckton’s inadequate correction is wrong’http://scienceblogs.com/deltoid/2006/11/even_moncktons_inadequate_corr.php
‘This is a dazzling debunking of climate change science. It is also wildly wrong’http://www.guardian.co.uk/Columnists/Column/0,,1947246,00.html
‘Most promising newcomer on the contrarian comedy circuit:Viscount Monckton of Brenchley’http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2006/11/cuckoo-science/
JR – you seem awfully interested in shilling for this movie.
Gotta wonder – do you get a percentage of receipts?
;-)
GMC
I think the issue is critical and people should be informed. The documentary asks for viewers to encourage others to view it. That is as far as my stake in it goes.
I encourage YOU to see the film.
I suppose Cosmos if Monckton’s point was to prove that the IPCC GW has many attack dogs, then he would easily win.
As I see it, let the the two debate, then discussion after.
Using a plethora of sources to trash person before a debate doesn’t seem to approach current debate standards , especially at Oxford.
What’s the big deal about letting them debate?
If Monckton loses, so be it. If he wins, so be it.
Let them debate without a trial by google and press beat down.
This guy Monckton sounds like a first class kook.
BUT if an independent film maker should make a documentary about Monckton’s disagreement with fairly unanimous science, I’ll see it.
JR – I would likely break down and see this movie, if I didn’t dislike Al Gore so much. I seriously can’t stand to look at him for any length of time. Not so much because of his politics, but because I was traumatized by the time he and Tipper were making out on stage. They’re both so big – that just scared the crap outta me. I kid you not. You can’t blame me for an honest reaction, can you? I haven’t been able to look at him since. Maybe I could close my eyes….
I refused to watch The Passion of the Christ also. After one of my thumper friends told me little bits of Jesus’ flesh came off in chunks under the whip – well, I’d just as soon see a bear coming. I took a LOT of heat over not seeing that movie – but I held strong.
It wouldn’t be fair for me to see the movie because it would set me against the issue – whether or not it was valid. So – I better stick to getting my GW news from the Science sector, and different places where I can read it.
Actually, that’s all just tongue-in-cheek, but I really don’t care for the man. I may rent it one day, however. Just to make you happy.
Al Gore, friend of the environment…
or is he?
http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=nation_world&id=5072659
Heated pool bill is quite extravagant.
I also heard on the radio that the MSM Nashville newspaper had this story long ago and buried it. Their reply was, “we forgot we had it.”
GSheridan
I have precisely the same revulsion for george bush as you do for Al Gore. bush reeks of arrogant proud stupidity.
There was ONE time I was rooting for him. When shuttle Colmbia was destroyed, I rememeber thinking and even saying “PLEASE don’t screw THIS up!” And of course, he did.
I saw the passion. Or at least I saw the last half of it. It was sickening. THAT movie confirms what I already knew. Mel Gibson is insane.
It is worth the education and intellectual honesty to at least see the Gore documentary. Gore is a real person motivated in his cause by tragedy and misfortune in his own life. The near death of his son and the loss of his older sister made him feel a need to make a real difference in the world.
Let’s see if the editors pull this post this time to protect GS.
http://www2.ljworld.com/news/mining/
Stay tuned here for the publishing of GSheridan’s real identity.
Aircraft,
Not a very good idea. In fact you can be sued for it.
My suggestion, don’t do it.
Republican,
“As I see it, let the the two debate, then discussion after.
Using a plethora of sources to trash person before a debate doesn’t seem to approach current debate standards , especially at Oxford.”
Gore’s claims, backed up peer-reviewed climate scientists, are public, in his recent DVD/book and 1992 book.
Monckton’s claims are public, at the ‘Daily Telegraph’ and ‘Nexus’.
Gore’s responses to Monckton’s claims are public,http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/11/19/nclim19.xml
Basically, they’ve already publicly debated. So WHY not compare and discuss what they’ve claimed?
WHY not do some research, and get up-to-speed on their viewpoints, in case they do another debate?
Cosmos,
I don’t know what either of them will say in public. I think it would an interesting debate.
Getting up to speed is fine. Laying down a path of thorns to the debate hall door is not fine.
Aircraft – go for it. Spill the beans.
What dastardly secrets do you know about me that are somehow revealed in that article?
I’m all ears. What’s the matter? Didn’t your ploy to bring down WEBlogs work? Back so soon?
LOL
Republican,
Please prove that Monckton’s falsehoods that are debunked in my links upthread are NOT falsehoods. http://blogs.kansas.com/weblog/2007/03/open_thread_19.html#comment-63810424
Prove that this is true.Monckton: “There was little ice at the North Pole: a Chinese naval squadron sailed right round the Arctic in 1421 and found none.”
If you cannot, then Monckton deserves the “thorns”.
Ummm Cosmos,
I’ll take your word for it.
If you want to be in the business of discrediting people, by all means do it.
Don’t drag me into that cesspool.
Paranoia runs deep. Into your soul it will creep. You better stop children what’s that sound. Everybody look what’s going down.
“Didn’t your ploy to bring down WEBlogs work? Back so soon?”
Any word from our friends in the Fisting With Fury Group? Is the BOYcot still on?

I am not in favor of outing peoples identities here. That is unless it would better inform readers where it is that person is coming from.
Too, GSheridan does not seem to have a problem with it. If she DID I would probably say don’t do it.
What have ya got aircraft? I’ll read all on that link later.
Or would GSheridan maybe like to try and head this off by “spilling the beans” herself?

Not that it matters but the 1:52 post is not mine.
Looks like the Cut N’ Runners of the blog are planning a big comeback on April 1st. They talk of blogging in code and all using the same nic to try and have fun with people here. They talk of looking for topics to talk about over there. They seem bored and sad and lonely. ….I find it hilarious.
“…They talk of blogging in code and all using the same nic to try and have fun with people here.”
Uh no, THEY don’t. Those were MY ideas alone. And I only suggested them if the trolling and nic stealing/switching starts up from you all again.
I’m quickly coming to the decision that, religion of any kind.. Including possibly my own (Judaism). Is nothing but a fraud.
I mean how do we REALLY know that anything in anyones bible is true.
We do know one thing, that the Latter day saints/Mormons have the least factual basis to go from. Even if it is the most recent basis.
Christian Fundimentalists are afraid people will figure this out and be “lost”. So they do everything they can to “save”.
If you dont mind, providing that there is actually a god of some kind (whether it be an intelligent being or some crackpot that is immortal and waiting for us in another dimension, or no one at all that it was just fiction) i’d like to find out for myself. I don’t need some thumper telling me what I should believe in.. Its certainly not Jesus, and I’m having difficulty believing there is a God either.
I am begging to differ with you JR.
SOB- How did you find this info?”topics to talk about over there”
Where is “over there”?
I’ve been too busy to read since last week… Wow! You guys have become pathetic… Arguing about where people were born and talking about “over there” like you’re paranoid or something. I’m not trying to be mean, it’s just quite sad that this is turning out the way it is – it could have gone sooo much better…

Fleetwood,
Someone posted the link to their new clubhouse the other day here. Here it is. Go back to around the 13th or 14th or so and read their planning for boycott and such. It is amusing.
http://www.wichitavoice.com/blog/
AFN,
I don’t think it is paranonia about the Cut N’ Runners…it is just good comedy. And that’s what the blog is all about: Entertainment, and not to be taken seriously…much like Algore.
Republican,
So you don’t care if Monckton’s claims are falsehoods?
You’re not bothered by his BIZARRE insistence that in the Medieval Warm Period, “there were no glaciers in the tropical Andes: today they’re there.”?
His OWN sources list MWP temperatures taken from Andean glacier ice cores. HOW did those ice cores include the MWP (and earlier) if “there were no glaciers” there during the MWP?
I guess that credibilty is unimportant to you. Heh, whatever…
I tried to introduce a new topic hehe.. Then again its a tired old rhetoric.. I just felt like I had to say it cos of some of the comments on Opinion Line today..
BLAH
SOB was against entertainment before he was for entertainment
JR – there are no ‘beans’ to spill. I looked at that article – I have absolutely no link to it whatsoever.
It’s just more empty threats from the crew that claim to be the poor injured party here.
But I WAS interested in hearing the latest made-up conspiracy theory from them.
I think we can all agree that THEY’RE BAAAAACK!
Oh, well, at least we had a few nice, peaceful days of intelligent discussion and people actually trying to make points.
I guess I’m here for the wrong reason then… I’m here to discuss and learn. Sorry, my mistake!
Well Erik, sometimes not all topic suggestions get rolling. Just happens that way. Don’t mean nothing.
Oh i know, no big thing.. Just my 3 cents for the day.
Learn? From bloggers? Well…I guess there’s a chance of that.
….just consider the source. Just like anything you read or hear.
Of course, I take most anything with a grain of salt that I read on the internet. BUT my original reason for even reading this blog was to learn about the area and the people who live here since I am somewhat new to the area. And it’s also nice to discuss ideas and theories with people… Mature people…
AFN,
No problem. Welcome to the area.

aircrafty – sorry your boycott backfired on you. Did you really think you were irreplaceable?

LOL
Just got back from the Libs new tree house. Very funny.
Hey AFN,
Where are ya from? What are your interests?
Hank
The All Seeing Eye says to ask about Michigan.
Does anybody have a recipe for crock pot corned beaf?
I bet Hank does.
Fleet – I took a look at the tree house last week, but I have to say – it was totally boring and I haven’t been back.
I actually felt sorry for them. They tried so hard to make a stand – a united front, but some of their members were ratting them out from the get-go.
GS- I noticed the “rat” part, too. All the strategy ideas were sort of Junior High-ish. Oh, well. Thanks anyway, hardtruth. The question was meant as a zing to the Fisting With Fury bunch. They are trading recipes, along with coming up with codes. ws is still mad at me, too.
Yea, fleet, it’s pretty sad over there. Recipes and self-congratulation. KFG, in her new incarnation (no, I won’t out you) has to keep reminding her co-boycotters to post and keep the posting numbers up. The “conspiracy” on how to “get us” on their return reminds me of little girls at a slumber party.
Just remember, all: while, true enough, the ‘boycotters’ labor under the self-delusion of innocence regarding their reason for leaving, it’s wise to remember that some still here were part and parcel of the problem as well. Behavior has been amazingly civil since they left; it must stay that way when they return.
We’ve spoken here about how we enjoy debate without the nastiness; we must live up to that when the nemesis returns.
GMC70 – I agree, and I am willing to try. It WAS much more pleasant here the last few days. I readily admit that I can sling as much mud as anyone, but it’s been so pleasant here – that just doesn’t seem attractive right now.
I’m desparate for a blog topic. WSClark..please save us!
There, I just did my part to add a post to the all-important post count. Cause that’s what really counts you know.
Want to see a kickass movie? Go see 300 and pretend the Persians are the terrorists. Don’t have to pretend too hard.

If they want to post recipes or some of their ideas in the categories I’ve provided, they can utilize the Blog I’ve set up at:

One can even submit graphics with their comments (no porno please.)
The general theme of the blog is about Kansas, so a good place to put Kansas stuff that is rolling around in your head. :)
Check it out. Here’s the excitement being missed over at the lib’s new digs. I think perhaps Tracy is, well…I’m not sure.
CF, I GET IT! LET ME TRY…..
It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told.
It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.
Yes, it will, Precious, won’t it? It will get the hose!

It places the lotion in the basket.
Put the f*ck*ng lotion in the basket!
AHHHHH,……….I feel much better now, thanks.Posted By TRACY | 3/20/07 3:52 PM
If we’re so glad that the furry fists are gone, why are they discussed so much? You can smell the paranoia here. You all see a boycotting blogger behind every rock and tree. Any new poster becomes a boycotter in your minds.I admit I feel a little left out, though. Nobody has accused me of being an undercover boycotter.I followed the link to the boycotter’s blog. Funny, they sound just like you.
Because, most of them have returned under different nics to hide their shame.
LOL
Infernal,
It aint paranoia. It’s comedy…and comedy at their expense which makes it even sweeter.
Take the corned beef, put in crock pot.
Done.
Hank.
Actually, you can put in all the spices that come with the corned beef in the crock pot or not. I like to use all the spices plus a cup of water.
Don’t cook the potatoes or cabbage with the corned beef, they’ll get too done.
When the corned beef is done, add the juice from the crock pot to a pan of boiling water and cook your potatoes. I use new potates and I’ll peel them all except for a little on each end. When they’re about done quarter a cabbage and put it in the pan with the potatoes.
I’ve got this great mustard powder I got from the Vietnamese Market that I make a mustard sauce with by adding it to a simple white sauce. Good for the corned beef and the cabbage.
There, done again.
Hank
Perhaps you are just a very observant individual Infernal B.
I knew an Infernal when I played an online game a few years ago. Turned out he was played by more than one person, so he could be online 24/7 and build the character faster. That’s the norm in today’s online game, character sharing. Some that played him were friendlier than the others that did.
What was funny, is that one of the people that played him, sold all of his gear to another player for real world cash. The others were furious and set out for revenge. The game kind of went south, so I departed when there was so much corruption.
Paranoia runs deep. Into your life it will seep.
The All Seeing Eye watches. Have a good evening GSheridan.
InfernalB -
“Funny, they sound just like you.”
There’s a lot of truth to that. The fact is, the libs need the conservatives, the conservatives need the liberals. Both of us, left to own devises, are self-destructive, though perhaps for different reasons.
Has it been less exciting without them? You bet. Has there been less light generated? I’m sure that’s so; many of “them” are very bright folks, though some simply parrot the DailyKos/DU line.
There’s also been a great deal less heat generated, and that’s a good thing. In a perfect world, we could gain the light and dispense with the heat, but so many, on both “sides,” can’t resist the urge to make a political/ideological disagreement personal. It needn’t be so.
So, would I welcome the ‘boycotters’ back? Sure. But I don’t think I’ve ever been part of the problem (then again, I suppose I can be just as self-delusional as the next guy; human beings are amazingly good at lying to themselves).
There is no shame in doing a noble thing.
I am very familiar with the posting styles of all of the boycotters. I detect none of them posting here.
I WOULD like to point out one exception.
WHOEVER it was who posted the link to their discussion forum gets low marks in my book. That was a rotten thing to do. It was not necessarily one of them though. One of YOU could easily have googled the nic of any of the boycotters and found the place.
I note too that the only topic the remnants seem interested in is…..people who are not here.
Hank- You got it all wrong. First, you put the lime in the coconut, you put them both together. Now, let me get this straight. Doctor!
Thanks for the well wishes, aircraft. I, do, indeed, intend to have a fabulous evening.
“WHOEVER it was who posted the link to their discussion forum gets low marks in my book.”
Pleased to me telling me why? This interest in the Fisting With Fury bunch will go away soon enough. At least until April Fools Day.
I know. You are a very interesting person.
You must know who I am by now
JR,
I did it. I confess. I used “the google” to find the lefties.
And geez man, don’t be such a 4B!
There used to be a widely known brevity code in the military and it wasn’t very polite. :)
Hank and Vaughn probably know what I’m talking about. hehe!
SOB, if you would come to the meetings, you would know that was a 6M. I can’t cover for you forever!
But JR, they are here! But they just can’t say anything back. That’s what makes it so fun!
Hank,Kind of from all over… I’m a military brat:) Interests? Hmm… That’s hard to say, I’m pretty boring… Reading, music, decorating, blah blah blah… Lately I’ve spent a LOT of time looking at houses to buy. That’s all that I can really think of without letting out to much. Sorry, not trying to conceal anything, I just don’t like letting too much out about myself – although I’m probably kidding myself because anyone who knew my name could probably figure me out pretty quickly on the internet…

cosmos– Everything will be OK. Just stop it.
fleetwood,
Why should I stop posting accurate facts about AGW? Are you scared of the truth?
Oweee!
JUNEAU, Alaska — Perhaps you know that sinking feeling when a single keystroke accidentally destroy hours of work. Now imagine wiping out a disc drive containing an account worth $38 billion.
A computer technician at the Alaska Department of Revenue deleted applicant information for an oil-funded sales account — one of state residents’ biggest perks.
While reformatting the disk drive during a routine maintenance check, the technician mistakenly reformatted the backup drive as well and, suddenly, all the data disappeared.
A third line of defense — backup tapes that are updated nightly — were unreadable.
I don’t like this new website!!!
Any others, feel the same??
“this” is ambiguous james – could you be more specific what exactly you don’t like?
??????????????????????????????????
“I don’t like this new website!!!Any others, feel the same??”
Would I be correct in assuming that you mean the effect of the “other” website (Wichita Voice) on this website (WE Blog)? If so, I would have to agree… Great things could have happened from the boycott but many (not all) of those left behind have chosen to go the other way. Not to mention that some of the conversations have become quite inane. I admit that I am was quite wrong and have been very surprised by the civility of the other blog – yes I checked it out today after reading through the past few days’ Open Threads. I wish them the best and I’ll admit that I even thought of joining them but I’m not much for crashing parties:)
“Why should I stop posting accurate facts about AGW?”
What facts? That in 30 years nothing you people predicted came true? Just like 30 years ago?
Anti-Capitalist bastards.
You can read Senator Schumer’s new book while eating some Spicy Meatballs.

BDP fleettwood,
“What facts? That in 30 years nothing you people predicted came true? Just like 30 years ago?”
It was mostly journalists who predicted cooling in the 1970’s. The NAS, climate scientists, et al were busy doing research.
http://www.aip.org/history/climate/timeline.htm“1977 Scientific opinion tends to converge on global warming, not cooling, as the chief climate risk in next century.”
And Dr. Hansen’s prediction to Congress re warming came VERY close. Impressive, considering all of the variables.

You’re attacking WalMart… again?

Hank – off topic – comments about the pet food fiasco? You are a ‘dog person’ so I figure you are informed.
“You’re attacking WalMart… again?”
Being smart about your energy costs does not mean you are buying in to the bogus Global Warming hysteria, but some who are acting hysterical are anti-capitalists.
Hey HardTruth,
I’m on several YaHoo dog related lists, this dogfood fiasco has been tearing them up for the last week.
For the list of dog foods in the recall:
http://menufoods.com/recall/index.html
Your not going to believe this, but we feed Sam’s Lamb and Rice ‘Exceed’ brand dog food.
I use to buy this premium dog food over the internet that cost around $50 for 40lbs, plus shipping.
Sam’s is around $23 for 40 lbs and is some of the best dog food on the market.
A good friend of ours in Osborne, KS has been feeding ‘Exceed’ for around twenty years and they have some of the best Australian Shepards in the country!
Hank
A complete list of the dog food and cat food recall can be found at http://www.menufoods.com.
There, you can find UPC codes and dates for the dangerous food. And it IS dangerous. It is causing renal(kidney) failure in dogs and cats. A lot of pets are dying. A lot more are gonna die.
This (and contaminated peanut butter, lettuce, etc) is what deregulation in the food industry gets you.
