Superheroes don’t die; they just don’t. And it’s almost sacrilegious for a super hero named after America to die. If you haven’t heard, Captain America is fatally shot in “Civil War,” a Marvel Comics-produced series.
I’m wondering if the Bush administration will try to use this as a distraction from the outcome of the Libby trial.
I can see Bush now: “America, please stop for a moment and consider what is going on in the world. Captain America is dead. How are you going to question me about my honesty and integrity, along with that of Vice President Cheney? We have no comment at this moment on the outcome of Mr. Libby’s trial but those writers over there — they obviously hate freedom. They are eradicating a symbol of it in comic book form. That’s an issue America needs to address, because if you’re not with us. . . .”

Won’t killing Captain America just embolden Hitler?
Super heroes can’t live forever, sooner or later they will die, but their achievements will be known forever.
hee hee hee Ross. Good one!
If he thinks fiction writers are real scientists, I hardly think it is a stretch to imagine he thinks the war on “terra” needs to be continued to avenge the death of the good captain. After all, we must not let the death of C of A be in vain!
Dont you all wonder sometimes what color the sky is in bush’s world?
Captain America was already “killed” and brought back to life once before.
Know your comic book history . . .
They can’t kill Captain America. It’s like killing Paul Bunyan or Uncle Sam or Tom Joad.
“Wherever little children are hungry and cryWherever the people ain’t freeWherever brave men are fighting for their rightsThat’s where I’m a gonna beThat’s where I’m a gonna be.”
One wonders if bush will send the task force formerly detailed with finding Osama bin Laden to find and bring to justice those who killed Captain America.
YOU know, since they aren’t doing anything else and all.
Captain America was a lame book anyhow, remember when Superman sales slumped to an all-time low? Death brings in the bucks, so I know Cap will be back and Marvel will have a old book with a new life again.
Capn America was sort of the opposite of Superman in my mind, Danny.
Superman could do practically anything. He could fly into the sun, move the earth back in time.
Hard to create a real conflict there.
Captain America on the other hand was just a juiced up human, like Batman.
Much more interesting in my mind.
There is no doubt that Captain America will live again. I have personal knowledge that Captain America is actually invincible.
Some of you know EXACTLY what I am talking about.
Captain America lives!!!!!!
