What’s the matter with Boston?

In a time of terrorism, Cartoon Network should have thought twice about promoting “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” by placing several dozen “blinking electronic signs with a boxy cartoon character giving an obscene hand gesture” around the Boston area. But it’s also hard to understand how Boston authorities could mistake the LEDs for anything dangerous, especially when they caused no concern in nine other cities. And even figuring in the $2 million compensation cost announced Monday, Turner Broadcasting Systems sure got its money’s worth in publicity.

Clearly Bush’s war on terrorism isn’t working. We need to invade the moon so then Moonites can’t attack us here. They already hit Boston and other major American cities. Let’s invade the moon before other city gets humiliated with paranoid stupidity.

What a bunch of morons. All that was needed, was one patrol car to stop – figure out that they were just signs and head back to the donut shop.

Turner Broadcasting boys, on the other hand – are rabble rouser’s and should be fined much more. Whoever thought up the brilliant idea that signs ‘flipping the bird’ to the public – was acceptable, much less entertaining, has their head up their Southern aperture.

But I expect little more from the media moguls these days.

    …yawn…

Yes! Let’s blame BUSH for what the Cartoon Network (Turner Broadcasting) did and what the Boston Police reacted to!

    Excellent logic!

    For an Origami donkey!

    lmao!

In the paranoid atmosphere of george bush’s “the only thing we have to fear is EVERYTHING!” America, I’m amazed we don’t have a fiasco like this every second Tuesday. I’ve never seen the show. I think I’ll check it out.See? Turner will make WAY more out of this than they lose. I like this little guy! He sorta sums up my sentiment for bush America. Can we erect a drive in screen size version of him within sight of the White House?

What was REALLY outrageous was the piling-on attack on the two artists hired to distribute the promos. Several Massachusetts politicians (mostly Demos, I should note) are on my shit list.

From Rhonda’s link, it looks like the DA’s going to back off the ridiculous charges he filed: Perpetuating a “hoax” (uhmm. . .who exactly were they trying to deceive, and how?), and “disorderly conduct” (uhmm. . .when exactly did they anything “disorderly”?).

I think this was an ENTIRELY appropriate response:http://www3.youtube.com/watch?v=4XTuiyJNJOI&mode=related&search=
