A few words from the Democratic presidential candidate cattle call, also known as the Democratic National Committee winter meeting:
Wesley Clark’s button said, “All Patriot. No Act.”
Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd said: “Bipartisanship to me does not mean getting Democrats to agree with Republican principles. It means getting Republicans to agree to Democratic principles.”
Former Sen. John Edwards: “Brothers and sisters, in times like these, we don’t need to redefine the Democratic Party. We need to reclaim the Democratic Party.”
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson: “Anyone of these candidates would be good in the White House. As my vice president.”
Delaware Sen. Joe Biden: “Well, how was your week?”
And Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (not a presidential candidate — yet) said of Democratic gains in her GOP state in 2006: “Kansas once again is open for business.” She gave part of the credit to DNC chairman Howard Dean and his 50-state strategy. “It really is paying off,” she said.

Well, no impressive quotes there – but I suppose that’s par for Democrats.
Hillary is still their front runner meaning the GOP is still feeling pretty happy.
Hillary Clinton to my knowledge is the only Dem. presidential candidate who has already refused to accept federal campaign finance fundraising limits so that she can raise unlimited amounts for her campaign. I am quite sure that Sheridan and the GOP are happy to have to deal with that prospect. Remember that that was the early strategy of Pres. Bush in his first campaign. The shoe fits quite well on the other foot.
Kathy didn’t attend yesterday’s joint session because she wouldn’t be formally recognized.
The queen had better things to do than attend a joint session of the kansas legislature regarding one of the largest economic development programs to come to kansas in years.
good work, guv.
oh, and ask the shipping companies and kansas corporations who depend on shipping within the state how ‘open for business’ the state is after the queen’s turnpike tax.
kelly – maybe you can get some numbers for me. We hear that Hillary’s negatives are high – but just how high are they? I am figuring that since she is so well known that her numbers will tend to be cast in stone; will not change. So, even if she is, say, 40% negative that would seem to leave 60% for her.
Just what are the numbers?
I don’t know those numbers, Ben. I’m not yet certain personally who will be the best Democratic Party candidate for president. But my point was that readers of this blog shouldn’t take it for the God’s truth when a Republican apologist proclaims that “We want to run against Hillary.” As close as have been the last two presidential campaigns, Hillary (with a huge warchest) is going to be a formidable opponent for any Republican.
kelly-It may not be God’s truth, but you can believe that we want Hillary to get the nomination. She is the one who wants to take the profits of a large oil corporation and use them as she wishes. This is the same company who paid 100 Billion in taxes, and Hillary wants more.
I suppose that you also believe that no-bid, cost-plus contracts with the government represents good public policy? And that adding 3 trillion to the national debt in 6 years is responsible governance? Maybe you do. If so, then PLEASE don’t change the way you think and talk between now and Jan. 2009.
I won’t change if you nominate Hillary.
GSheridan: I can tell you are *highly* educated.
BWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Fascist whore.
ddub, my man.Long time no see.
Fleet – I hear you. As I said, I’m uncommitted right now on who would be the best candidate for the Democratic Party.
