Sounds like a job for a G-man

The FBI, the nation’s top law enforcement agency, lost 160 weapons and 160 laptop computers in 44 months to theft and carelessness. The good news: That’s an improvement over five years ago. But the Justice Department’s inspector general reported Monday that nobody at the FBI — remember, the “I” stands for “investigation” — can say for sure whether the laptops contained sensitive or classified information.

Hmmm. Sounds a little high, but I’m sure that many of them can be legitimately explained away — vehicle accidents, lost luggage, misplacement during office moves or transfers, simply “worn-out” & replaced without the proper paperwork getting where it’s supposed to have gone, etc., And, all told, that’s only a little over 7 a month. Is it 7 too many? Of course, it is. But, it’s hardly earthshaking, and hardly newsworthy. But, then again, look who brought us this startling revelation?

That reminds me of an incident involving an FBI vehicle (a GMC Suburban) when I lived in Memphis. The agents left it parked at a motel chock full of M-16’s and MP-5’s, ammunition, and two GRENADE LAUNCHERS. Bad idea: it was stolen.

Eventually, it was recovered. I recall seeing some MAJOR police action in Memphis at the time.

Here’s an ode to Louis Freeh (total asshole, BTW) on the occasion of the van’s recovery. It’s sung to the tune of “Louie, Louie”

**********************************(With Sincere Apologies To The Kingsmen)

“Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,

We park de van, leave de weapons inside,We enter hotel just to spend de night,When we come out, de weapons, dey gone,We turn our portable radios on (to moan),

Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,

We leave de guns, unguarded, mon,They disappear before de dawn,Now Louie, we know, you be real mad,About dis loss, we, too, be sad,

Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,

Eddie de Eagle soon be training us,If we see gun, we must not touch,We run to find a grown up adult,For safety to be de end result,

Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,

With guns no longer, us, you trust,Because we lost de “weapons bus”,Bows and arrows, mon, yes, now we tote,As we head up —- creek, in leaky boat,

Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,

Now, ATF, dey be chasing us,Because we lost de “weapons bus”,We lost full autos and, yes, grenades,We hear, yes, dat some careers may fade,

Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,Louie, Louie, oh no, SWAT van be gone,SWAT van be gone … SWAT van be gone.”

LMAO !!! Now that’s funny! Yeah, Freeh couldn’t track a herd of buffar during a three foot snow storm in a telephone booth ! He was so pathetic that when he was called before some congressional committee or another, you couldn’t help but feel sorry and embarrassed for him … asshole or not!
