Intel committee putting Roberts era behind it

The implied criticism of the leadership of former Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Pat Roberts, R-Kan., is hard to miss in this story about the vital panel’s new era under Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., and Vice Chairman Kit Bond, R-Mo. "This was not pretty the previous five years," Rockefeller said. "We’ve made a different approach this time." The committee staffers have been reorganized to emphasize bipartisanship. "There are no Republicans. There are no Democrats. There are only people who work for the committee," Rockefeller said. Three long-overdue reports on prewar intelligence on Iraq are promised, too. "Just flush it out. Get it out and get to some other work," Bond said.

Truth be told, Brown-nose Pat was an anti-American obstructionist. Truth be told, he and the Bush administration are afraid of the truth.

I really wonder what Roberts constant foot dragging was trying to hide.

The dirt’s going to come out from where Robert’s been sweeping it all these years!

There is an old expression – he has dirt underneath his fingernails.

Pat Roberts can scrub his hands all he wants, he will never be able to get all the dirt out.

They are FLUSHING the stench of Roberts away . . . good idea.

When do we start the recall process of Roberts?

  9. Posted February 19, 2007 at 2:59 pm | Permalink

It’s easier to just defeat him in the next election, dave.

And, man, does he have a target on his back now or what?

Pat Roberts will win by more than 20 points in the next election.

the democratic underground and anti-war left are no match for a grassroots, down-home campaign that Pat will run.

the more important question is who will the dems send to the slaughter?

Have to agree poindexter – in KS he will win handily.

Well it’s true that Roberts is bought and paid for by big special interests, Pinhead.

But that doesn’t constitute a grassroots constituency.

    More like an astroturf constituency.

capn, obviously you haven’t been out and about in kansas.

might learn a thing or two about the real grassroots.

I don’t think Pat will make it this time. As Chairman of the Senate Intelligence committe Pat Roberts was in charge of the two part report of the pre-Iraq war intelligence. The first part came out July 2004. On Aug. 3, 2006 Pat released two of five parts of the Phase II report and he told the BIG LIE and it will come back to haunt him. Of the three parts Pat did not release one is a bombshell. It’s the section comparing the intelligence the Bush Administration had and what they were telling the American people. Read Pat’s statements in Matt Stern’s 8/4/06 KC Star article or just go to Wikipedia on Pat. The reason Pat won’t get away with it now; Kansas soliders are dying in Iraq. Pat lied-Kansans died.

Pat Roberts and Intelligence should never be used in the same sentence. He is a poor excuse for a U.S. Senator, but does great show at a pep rally.

Rockefeller and the other Dems were just as political if not worse than the Republicans on the Committee. Roberts did a great service to our country on the Committee.
