"Has Balls been around to use some nasty acronyms in connection with the new intern yet?"

No, but his equally charming alter-ego SOB did. Do those cons pick accurate nics, or what?

Captain P has this story correct. No way has Boyda EVER turned down DC money, either from PACs or the DCCC or the DNC. It makes one wonder who checks the facts these days. Take a quick look at www.fec.gov and type in "Boyda" in the candidate section. You'll see her reporting stacked with both DC money and PAC money. Oddly enought, a lot of which came after the final filing. Could that be that Boyda was hoping no one would catch this? She's a hypocrite and the KS media is simply helping her continue the hypocrisy.

look at the timeline here.

the DCCC released their target list.4 days later Boyda says she "turned down DCCC help"The next day the DCCC chimed in and said - "er, yeah, she turned us down for help, she is independent"The next day - the Kansas media and Washington AP believe the story hook, line and sinker.

it is easy to spin when the kansas media is so anxious to help the spin.

don't believe this story - no politician turns down free money.

This is a bogus spin story from Boyda and the DCCC and its working. All week now there as been at least one story in each major newspaper in Kansas about Boyda "turning down DCCC money and running an independent campaign"

This is a complete lie and people like Rhonda Holman are buying in.

nice work WE Blog.

Boyda may be believing what you people think; that this state could be more democrat party. Not true, but I hope you keep on thinking that way. Why you think you won is not why you won.

I'm not all that thrilled with the way Boyda has been doing business. There is a reason we elected her, and she's not holding up to what the voters want.

So let a real dem run for her seat.

Don't get me wrong, Boyda is still better than what we had.

The DNC should not punish her for just this.

BUT

If she does not vote consistently with Democrats, she should be primaried out in 08.

Boyda found out that Independent is better then being strap down to a party. It is fast becoming the ideal way of politics. If I were living in her district, I would vote for her because I think it is more then a bold and gutsy statement, I think it is the beginning of major change in political representation and I do admire her for making a stand.

Okay, she made her "big statement."

Soon when the furor dies down, she'll sneak back into the Democratic tent and take their money and their help.

Meaningless grandstanding gestures. It's not just for RepubliCONs anymore . . .

In '04 she took the Democratic party's help and lost by 15 percentage points. Without it, she won.

I can't see how there was a cause and effect relationship there, but she is acting as though there were.

What is controversial about her record? I know I heard about her controversy once, but I am not recalling what that was.

CF agrees with fleetwood. That's right: CF agrees with fleetwood.

Boyda has thus far demonstrated a tin ear as to the reasons for her election. If one doesn't play ball with other Democrats when one is part of the majority, one isn't going to get much done legislatively.

Had he told W to stay away, like many of his colleagues, he probably would have gotten re-elected.
