Does this mean that the feminist agenda of the Left is now dead?
Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer, an appalling scold from California, wasted no time yesterday in dragging the debate over Iraq about as low as it can go – attacking Secre tary of State Condoleezza Rice for being a childless woman.snipsnipThe junior senator from California ap parently believes that an accom plished, seasoned diplomat, a renowned scholar and an adviser to two presidents like Condoleezza Rice is not fully qualified to make policy at the highest levels of the American government because she is a single, childless woman.
It’s hard to imagine the firestorm that similar comments would have ignited, coming from a Republican to a Democrat, or from a man to a woman, in the United States Senate. (Surely the Associated Press would have put the observation a bit higher than the 18th paragraph of a routine dispatch from Washington.)snip
The vapidity – the sheer mindlessness – of Sen. Boxer’s assertion makes it clear that the next two years are going to be a time of bitterness and rancor, marked by pettiness of spirit and political self-indulgence of a sort not seen in America for a very long time.

Ah so there is a reason that you left out the most important part, the actual quotes.
Took some cutting and pasting to pull that part out of there hmm?
I don’t think it was a jab at her being a woman and childless, it was a point she was making, that many of us have made to those with kids at a military age- those people rarely have their children serving in the military. Usually it’s other people’s kids. Condi has no children to sacrifice.
It’s no different than asking why Jenna and Babs aren’t over there right now too.
political mom
Can you imagine the CrapStorm a Republican (man or woman)would endure if they said the same thing to a Democrat woman? It would go through 3-4 news cycles, Democrats would be calling for a resignation.
Have to break my blog silence. Several months ago the Beagle told us that the front page was intended to have a local focus and news of the war was rarely front page news. So, why the front page ad for Cox, NetFlix and Blockbuster — is that part of some advertiser reward program? If so, the Kansas National Guard needs consideration for front page status. I’m sure they spend a few dollars a year in advertising. So I would expect the news of the extension of a Kansas Guards units tour of duty in Irag by 3-4 months should not be buried on Page 3B and worthy of front page mention.
The Beagle continues to ignore the war in Iraq and Terror by burying any news of it.
OK LIbs. You have another chance to defend the indefensible.Barbara Boxer verbally slaps Ms Rice because she has no chillin’s. Of course, it’s rude and mean. I know this will not stop you.Start defending.
Here, I’ll help with the defense of Boxer.
“In 1994, her daughter, Nicole Boxer, married Tony Rodham, brother of then First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, in a ceremony at the White House. The couple had one son, Zachary, and divorced in 2000. (Family Values eh?)
Boxer also was involved in the House banking scandal in which congressmen, herself included, wrote bad checks in large amounts, an issue that the Sacramento Bee covered in a March 1, 1992 article quoting Boxer as admitting she didn’t pay enough attention to her House bank account. More specifically, that meant 143 bad checks totaling $41,417 over a three-year period that she had written on the House bank.
Napoleon complex? Boxer is the shortest United States Senator currently in office, standing at almost five feet. She uses a box (known as the Boxer Box) for height when speaking at a lectern.”(Wikipedia Source)
Quote of the Day:
“I’ve never seen a President”I don’t care who he is”stand up to them [the Israelis]. It just boggles your mind. They always get what they want…. If the American people understood what grip those people have on our government, they would rise up in arms. Admiral Thomas Moorer of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

CNN and Opinion Research Announce Formal Polling Partnershiphttp://biz.yahoo.com/bw/070112/20070112005037.html?.v=1snipADVERTISEMENT”Opinion Research Corporation’s reputation for independent, objective analysis and its excellent reputation in the industry make the firm the ideal polling partner for CNN,” said Sam Feist, CNN’s Political Director. “As the network gears up to offer the most in-depth and expansive coverage of the 2008 election, Opinion Research Corporation will be a key part of giving viewers the accurate and relevant information they demand to help them make decisions.”
xxx
From “Howlin” at FreeRepublic.com.”Based on the history of the people who recently acquired Opinion Research Corp., we believe that the true purpose of the CNN/Opinion Research partnership is to rig the poll results to benefit Hillary Clinton in her 2008 presidential campaign.
Opinion Research was purchased last year by InfoUSA. InfoUSA is controlled by a hard-core Clintonista named Vinod Gupta.
Gupta is a major Clinton/DNC donor and fundraiser, and Lincoln Bedroom guest. He has recently spent large sums to establish these Clinton-worship centers in India -snipGiven the close personal and financial ties between the man who controls Opinion Research Corp. and the Clintons, we believe that the CNN/Opinion Research polling results are hopeless tainted and intended to benefit Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid. CNN either failed to perform due diligence on their partner, or they are complicit in this polling sham.

Let me introduce my self. I am new to this stuff. My name is Bull, or at least thats what freinds call me. I live in Florida but was raised in Wichita. Graduated from East in the Eighties. My wife and me are thinking of moving back to Wichita and that is why I am checking on the Eagle. There are too many old people, humidity and drugs in Florida Eveyone here is ninety years old or doiug craack.
So far, Wichita looks pretty weird after reading what people say here. Is this what Wichita has become in the twenty years since I left?
My wife is from Ohio. We are going to move to Ohio or Kansas in the next year. We have two kids.
Welcome Bull Snark, you should fit in here very well. :)
Viva la Raza Blanco!!
Bull–
I moved here from Tampa two years ago, and find the people in Wichita to be mostly decent, hardworking and caring–not including the flakes on this blog. The personal attacks, the negativity and the smug posts here are not representative of the people I have met and work with.
There are a few people here that speak with candor and reason, such as Ben H., but the extremists from both sides paint a picture that is not representative of Wichita.
One last thought, many of the posters don’t live in Wichita.
So, drop on by. Regardless of the repetitive negativity you read here, Wichita is a pretty nice place–my wife (a Florida native) and I have found “home”.
Thanks for your reply Raptor. We live north of Orlando. The drug prtoblem here is just to much to be raising kids. Our kids are still in grade school and there are already ones that do crack and meth. We need find a place where drugs aren’t quite so bad. I have read stuff on the comment line and this blog and find that there are a lot of really big jerks. I am not a political guy, but I just live and let live. Some people here at really whacked out.
Bull Snark, I don’t know where you may go in Ohio, but Ohio is far more progressive than Kansas. I don’t know if you have followed some of the activities of the right-wing in Kansas and particularly Wichita, but it can be disconcerting.
Of course, don’t take my word for it: I am universally hated on this blog!
I have been voted the “Blogger Most Likely to Be Assasinated at the Meet” by my “friends” here in Wichita.
I don’t remember that vote, so maybe you should be chosen “most likely to make stuff up”.
Thank’s, WSClark. My wife wants to go to Ohio, around Cincinnati, but I was thinking of going back home. We are giving ourselves six month to a year to make up our minds. I am a mechanic so I can work anywhere. My wife works parttime right now, but thats going to change.
Kansas makes the news in Florida with all the ID stuff and the board of education and that abortion shit. that is one reason my wife wants to move to Ohio, to much rightwing telling people what to do.
I have read where your real popular on the blog here. You really know how top stir the shit.
It was obviously sarcastic, Fleet. Get a life.
“Get a life”. Don’t hear that enough.
Bull..
North of Orlando? My wife grew up in Ocala…same general neighborhood.
The ID discussions, the whackos of the religious extremists, etc., make news…but they have very little real impact on people living their lives here.
We do have some pretty rotten drivers, tho…I have never seen so many people in one place that run stop signs as I have here..
fleet,
Ask us to defend the real verbal slaps at Ms Rice, such as quoting Rice’s Oct 19, 2005 claim to the same Committee:”… we are going to be able to bring down the level of our forces. I have no doubt.”
Boxer: “And last night, the president’s announcement of an escalation is a total rebuke of your confident pronouncement.”
Ouch!! Or how Boxer points out that the Brits, according to MSM, are withdrawing troops. (oops, Rice hadn’t confirmed it yet)
For some reason, Rush forgot to mention those.http://mediamatters.org/items/200701120014
Valid questions: who pays the price, how many more casualties…?http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/11/washington/11TRANSCRIPT-BOXER.html?pagewanted=all
Boxer did not attack Rice for being a childless woman. Watch the video.
This is a well-coordinated attempt by GOP activists to sideline Sen. Boxer.
Jesus, I just spend a hour reading through this website with my wife. Your folks are crazy. Insults – threats – all kinds of nasty crap.
Thank for for your reply Raptor. We live south of Ocala. Ocala is just really old people and drggies now and ther is a boatload of them. I 75 is the drug hiway.
I should say Im sorry to the gut calls himself KSGolfnut. I was not paying attention alsat night and thought he said that he chose to be homosexual. Sorry it was late and I had beer or three.
My wife in kind of concerned about moving to Wichita if you all act like this all the time – bunch of loonatics.
Hi Bull. My family moved here from Illinois – have lived all over the country. We have found most of the people here to be warm, kind and hard-working people. Don’t let the extremists – from both sides – get to you.
Also keep in mind that the extremist websites linked above are national, not local.
Hey, Snarky, there be lots of good peoples in Wichita and Kansas. John Brown is long dead and there be plenty of gun toting White rednecks!
Viva la Raza Blanco!!
How dumb can one be, the big story of the Bush/Condi Iraq fubar grilling isn’t the fiasco in Iraq with no clear policy; but rather the out of context insult to Condi’s womanhood! Afraid those red herrings just don’t fly with thinking people, just Bush supporters.
“Bull” <– an incognito regular on this blog.
KSGolfnut I apologized to you. I said I was sorry why are you insulting me. whatare you saying.
cosmos and flike are the double winners in the “defend the indefensible” contest. Congratulations! Not a word of rebuke to Ms Boxer, just more hatred of Bush and this country. You can pick up your prize on your way out.
opps! sorry that I missed steve’s post. It is a Triple winner!
KSGolfnut <– can spot Cindy a mile away
You pissed meof, Golfnut, what are you truying to say about me?
Wichita good, Snarky, not too many zionist or freemason!
Viva la Raza Blanco!!
Sorry Mr. Santiagoe but I am not sure what this is all about. This Golfnut what is he saying about me? Cindy? what does that mean. I apologized for sayinf that he chose to be a homo and now he calls me a girl. What I meant was guys dont chose to be homosexual they just are that way. I thought he said he coose it, and he ’s wasn ot born that way. Its all right if he is a gay, I don’t care. But why is he calling me a girl now?
Don’t worry, Snarky, Ian thinks that Golfnutz sip too much chardonay and drink too many martini at county club! :)
viva La Raza blanco!!
Sorry that I got so mad, Mr. Santigoe, but something just isnt right when a person that I do not even know starts to call me a girl and such. I did say I was sorry. I thought he said that he choose to be homosexual. What else can I do, I already apologized.
Crap, is this what Wichita is now?
Ken,I’m realy pissed. My son is one of those that will be extended. Again I find it interesting that those making those decisions don’t have loved ones fighting.
BS,Please don’t think the people on this blog represent the average Wichitian. Most of us are hardworking people just trying to make ends meet. I’m not from here originally but have lived in the area for over 20 years. It is a good, mostly safe community. I too have been amazed at the name calling and nastiness. Once in a while I get nasty too just because the things that are said sometimes is so outrageous. It does seem there aren’t many middle of the road folks. I think those folks read the blog but don’t comment. I have to admit that when some of them get on their mean streaks I just fast forward right through it. I think it easier to say mean things to each other when you don’t know the person on the other end. I often wonder if they know how boring and predictable they are. If you choose to move here I don’t think you will regret it.
Really? Me, cosmos, and steve?
Thanks! Couldn’t ask for a better group of co-winners.
High praise indeed. :)
Dear Bull,
trying to decide rather or not to become a citizen of DooDah by reading this BLOG is like trying to decide what kind of sports fan you want to be by sitting on the first row of a WWF match.
There are only about a dozen mean spirited, left-wing, war hating, blame America first, abortion loving, profane idiots in Wichita and they all post on this BLOG.
I suggest that you read the Arts and Entertainment secion of the Sunday paper or come and visit during the River Festival. That will give you a better idea of what we’re like now.
Hank
There is just something that is not adding up with this bullsnark character. Mr. Watson, there is a canard on the loose.
Well Mr. Price since I am against the war, being a veteran, and I think that people should just mid there own business when it comes to abortion, i guess you are saying that I would not be okay wiuth Wichita.
I think I am going to go ride my bike. It’s about 2:30 here and the weather is great, a few clouds and going to be cklose to 80′.
This is not the Wichita I remember I am statring to think it was a bad idea to suggest to my wife.
Getting smellier all the time.
Agreed. Is it just coincidence, Mr. Holmes, that the Bull Snark spelled backwards is krans llub? Or that his initials are B.S.? I think not!
Well Bull,
Going to miss ya. People like you can be miserable anywhere. No need to relocate half way accross the US.
Wichita hasn’t change very much over the last few years, still a pretty good place to raise a kid, get a job and enjoy life.
Take my advice on reading the Arts and Entertainment page and try to make it to a River Festival. You may have politics to high on your list.
Hank
fleet,
I already got my “prize” — a relative serving over there was almost killed by a suicide bomber, his buddy nearby WAS killed.
Do YOU have family and/or friends over there? Who pays the price, and how many more casualties?
btw: Having or not having children is a personal choice. And there’s adoption.I assume that Ms Rice didn’t want to have children, and was devoted to her career (oil tanker named after her, etc).
I was only hoping that, for once, you people might do the right thing a lay a beat down on one of your own (ms Boxer) when they make a mistake. But you couldn’t do it.
Aw, come on, Hank. Not all of those dozen of us who post on here relate to your description.
“…mean spirited, left-wing, war hating, blame America first, abortion loving, profane idiots…”
I can’t recall when I’ve been called mean spirited. Snarky ocassionally, yes, but mean spirited?
Left-wing, most definitely.
War hating? Is it wrong to hate seeing people die?
Blame America first? Hey, if America or its govt is doing something wrong, isn’t it our job to point it out? “My country, right or wrong” is kinda pitiful, if you want that country to remain great, free, and prosperous, right?
I don’t love abortion, and no one here ever said that. Just because we believe that a person should have the right to make decisions when it comes to his/her health and future, that doesn’t mean we love abortion. Please, get real.
Profane? Yeah, I’ve used a four-letter word a few times, but PROFANE? Geez….
Idiot? Well, it takes one to know one, or at least that’s what most of us used to say when we were kids. *grin*
fleet,
Boxer made valid points — she, and Rice do NOT have family that will “pay the price” in the escalation. You can’t truly understand the emotions of something you haven’t experienced.
Defend this: Rice is not married, i.e. childless, and too weak.
http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20004374_2,00.html“Do you think there’s anything a woman would do differently with the Presidency?Mrs. Bush: … But it isn’t easy to live here. Dr. (Condoleezza) Rice, who I think would be a really good candidate, is not interested. Probably because she is SINGLE, her parents are no longer living, she’s an only child. You need a very supportive family and supportive friends to have this job.”
The more you people defend ms Boxer, the more your credibility tumbles. You can’t do it, can you.
fleet,
So you believe Boxer was rude, but Mrs. Bush was polite, and okay? Rice is weak because she’s single, doesn’t have supportive family and friends?
Mrs. Bush is an idiot. What does that have to do with you people continuing to defend that which cannot be defended?
You’re saying the that President of the U.S. married an “idiot”? What does that make him?
What does that have to do with you people continuing to defend that which cannot be defended?
Uh HanK?
You don’t live in Wichita.
fleetie? I was listening too when Rush set you on your little rant against Barbara Boxer. SHeesh think for yourself man….if you can.
It IS kind of interesting to dig a little deeper though……
bush was not married until very late in life.
Condi, Harriet Miers, Karl Rove, ……all not married. I’m sure there are others too. What is it about the family values bunch that causes them not to have one I wonder? A family I mean.
Not that it matters, I haven’t heard Rush all week.
From Mrs. Bull Snark,
While is Bull is out riding his Harley with his friends, let me take a minute to address the issues.
Bull and I have decided that we would like to live in an area that is more conducive to raising our children. We would like to be in a city that has some city advantages without the narrow minded attitudes of a small town.
From what I have read here and researched elsewhere, Wichita has neither.
I think that it is representative that while Bull has only posted here for half a day, you folks are already attacking him. That is unbelievable.
Mr. Price, etc, we are not miserable, but I can assure you that we will not be moving halfway across the country to live in a place like Wichita, Kansas.
For you folks that think his initials are BS. Well he was nicknamed Bull because of his size and Snark is a play on our last name. Thank you so much for the insult.
If Bull wants to move to Wichita, he will have to get a divorce and move by himself. That’s not going to happen.
Thank you all for your time and thank you to those that attacked my husband. You have made our decision easy.
Sincerely,
Connie
Have a nice life.
Mr. & Mrs. Bull Snark, I hardly knew ye.
An anagram for Bull Snark isBlank Slur
Dear RD,
Gentle lady, my remarks were not directed at you.
Connie,
Overall size?
Junior,
So what?
Hank
Connie… by chance, is your last name “Lingus”??
fleet,
“What does that have to do…”
He makes other very important “decisions”.
golfnuts,
Thank you for being such an excellent example of a Republican.
Just reading through the blog comments from last night. Bull Snark just began posting last night and at 10:31 someone had already started to troll him. What a bunch of fucking losers.
The Reich-Wingers have managed to turn this public forum into one huge joke. It is impossible to have a mature, intelligent discussion on a thread without a far right lunatic making accusations of treason or anti-Americanism.
Truly amazing.
All of this goes far beyond partisan and ideological differences – this is strictly attempted bully tactics from the intellectually challenged.
This use of this blog has been taken over by the people that have no intellectual basis for their debate points – all they are left with a straw man arguments, unfounded insults, repetitive accusations and mindless character assasinations.
This blog is undoubtedly proof of the dumbing down of the Karl Rove Republican Party.
You folks elected one of your own to the Office of the Presidency.
A fucking moron.
Working a “nil” in there would add about 20 years or so to the average reader’s understanding of your overall level of maturity, KSG. [/wife; that's damn hard work]
Connie Lingus is to cunnilingus as d00d is to dude.
(ie, it’s like a big tipoff that the writer is trying too hard.)
I’m pullin’ for ya though, we’re all in this together.
lmao
Some troll disguised as Bull Snark…heh heh
No doubt a KSGolfnuts-hater as he picked up on the abusor name “testicles” rather quickly for someone new to a blog.
I recall someone on this Blog saying bull snark before, but don’t recall who it was now. I’ll remember and point the finger in their direction though. heh heh
“…No doubt a KSGolfnuts-hater as he…”Posted by: JM | January 13, 2007 at 05:15 PM
See, Geoff Nunberg is correct about the power of language in politics (duh). Following weeks of WE Blog’s user permutations of KSGolfnut’s handle, JM’s added “s” (or lack of apostrophe) certainly provides strong evidence.

JM, can you help me remember where I found that poem? Unfortunately I no longer recognize it.
:)
If you took the time to read, JM, you would have noticed that Bull Snark was referencing the prior post from P Mom……and P Mom always refers to KSGolfnut as “Testicles.”
But as usual, facts are optional for those on the right wing.
BTW – It is real nice of you right wing folks to scare off the Snarkers.
The right wing folks would not care if there were only two of them left in Wichita – just kill off all of the liberals and minorities.
Why use facts when you can just kill those that disagree with you?
The remnants of lost continent of Atlantis will be discovered off the tip of Gibraltar in the year 2021.
Snark appears to be a handle of Bloggers, Journalists and writers. They use it often and in all sorts of usage (verb, adjective, adverb.)
I doubt if Bull Snark was new to this blog or at least not new to blogs, journalism or writing.
If he/she is, then I would apologize of course. But, a blog would be the last place I would go to introduce myself looking for a possible new home.
Besides, from my reading Bull Snark was the one who started first that thought the term “testicles” was associted with homesexuality and KSGolfNut.
My skeptical eyebrow has risen to “troll” alarm status.
Yeah, well if that skeptical eyebrow is telling you that I’m Bull Snark, well I saw that Twilight Zone episode, too.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0734664/
(not that Bull Snark is some kind of alien, I’m just remarking on the paranoia displayed by JM)
I ain’t Bull Snark, JM.
“Bull Snark” = KSGolfnut
KSGolfnut<——compulsive troller/nic switcher
Didn’t say you were Flike. You must be experiencing paranoia or wouldn’t have remarked. :)
“just kill off all of the liberals and minorities.”Minorities? Where did that come from? You being Black, Indian and Jewish, that might apply but Germans and Norwegians are not minorities.
It’s all those damn Twilight Zone eps I saw over the holiday, I swear. :)
Hey, Fleetfuck – your butt buddy Nutz call me a perfect liberal – multi minority.
As if I, or anyone else, had control of their origins, or had any reason to WANT to have any control of their origins.
Butt, I am sure that you are okay with the comment from Golfnut, since he is a fellow Republican and I am just a multi-cultural American that should be hung.
Hello! I am in Colorado now with my wif and i usd to liv in Wichita. We are thiking about movig to Wichita or Iowa. Is Wichita stil a good town?
**hey people, watch this**
It’s not your multi-cultural-ness that should cause the hanging.
Oops! Forgot to switch back.
It’s about 6 o’clock out here. I’m goig skiing with my freinds.
You ought at least disguise your email too, snarkwood. hotlicks@cox.net
Now who admitted to that and guitar playing? :)
duh
Yep, Fleetfuck, hanging a good American citizen, father and grandfather is REALLY funny!
Yee haw!
Let’s hang someone today!!
Funny, funny shit!!!
Woooooooooooooo!!!!!
Snarkwood! Absolutely. If you been gone for awhile, lots has change and for the better. Many opportunities and amenities and we keep on adding more all the time. We are become a world-class city.
Please don’t judge Wichita by the negativity and mudslinging that goes on this Blog. Just come down on a good weekend and spend time checking everything out, both new and old places that you remember.
:)
May I be the first to say, “Welcome Back!”
You only believe that, joe, if someone that is considering moving to Wichita is a confirmed conservative.
Notice Hank Price’s comments when Bull Snark said that he was a veteran and anti-war.
It didn’t take long….
I don’t know. You have attaked me and I think we wil move to Iowa now they seem to be more progresive.
Besides, my wife is on the femistr side of things and it seems a lot of peeple on this blog think a woman has to ber married and have childrn to make policy decisons. Personly, I want my wimmins to be in the kitchin making some noise with the pots and pans, just like jr and capn and cosmos and the others.
Did you get a job insulting newcomers to the blog, Fleetfuck? If so, you are doing a hell of a job.
Just out of curiosity, Fleetfuck, do you think it is funny when people die or is it just funny when liberals are killed?
For all of your pro-life bullshit, you seem to be real happy when people die.
Did you capture and kill kitty cats when you were a kid?
JM,”Bull Snark” is PeeMom. She said bull snark to me many times on the kansas.com blog. I knew it from the moment she wrote under that name. In fact, if you look up, I said “I can spot Cindy a mile away”
Cindy = PeeMom.
I thought it might have been, but wanted to verify by source. heh
Creativity. Kind of makes you wonder about a lot of things…
WSClark sucked in by a troll. lmao!He is so abused. :(
ws-You are stark raving mad. The Snark guy smells fishy. Right from the start. If he’s not man enough to take a little shit, Harley rider and all, fuck him.I am a 3 month pro-choicer, after that I am a no-choicer. But what do care about women? You think the Barbara Boxer doctrine of “married with kids or you have no voice” is the way to go.
PMom is NOT and never has been a troll! How in the world would anyone listen to AND BELIEVE the opinion of KSGolfnut!?
How funny, watching the blog get its collective panties all in a wad about a troll
Speaking of wads…
fellateswood,
Once again, here’s the WHOLE quote, restored to its context:
“SENATOR BARBARA BOXER: The Military Times published a poll which found that only 35 percent of military members approved of the way President Bush is handling this war, and only 38 percent thought there should be more troops.
So from where I sit, Madame Secretary, you are not listening to the American people. You are not listening to the military. You are not listening to the bipartisan voices from the Senate. You are not listening to the Iraq Study Group. Only you know who you are listening to, and you wonder why there is a dark cloud of skepticism and pessimism over this nation. I think people are right to be skeptical after listening to some of the things that have been said by your administration.
For example, October 19th ‘05, you came before this committee to discuss, in your words, how we assure victory in Iraq, and you said the following. In answer to Senator Feingold, “I have no doubt that as the Iraqi security forces get better — and they are getting better and are holding territory, and they are doing the things with minimal help — we are going to be able to bring down the level of our forces. I have no doubt” — I want to reiterate — “I have no doubt that that’s going to happen in a reasonable time frame.” You had no doubt, not a doubt. And last night, the president’s announcement of an escalation is a total rebuke of your confident pronouncement.
Now, the issue is who pays the price, who pays the price? I’m not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old, and my grandchild is too young. You’re not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, within immediate family. So who pays the price? The American military and their families, and I just want to bring us back to that fact.”
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/11/washington/11TRANSCRIPT-BOXER.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all&oref=slogin
In context, with the full quote restored, the import of Senator Boxer’s words is unmistakable: the price for Rice’s mistakes won’t be paid by Rice, or by Boxer herself, or by the ‘immediate family’ of either one of them: it will be paid by other people’s children.
Reasonable people see this, fellatewood. I don’t expect you to. Considering the delusion you have pledged yourself to, you’ve nothing better to do than what the Fat Drug Addict tells you to.
After reading what you people have said about ms Boxer’s comments, I have come around. Anyone who is not married or does not have children or who has not served in the military, has no standing. At least that gets a few Democrat candidate off the menu.
“The junior senator from California ap parently believes that an accom plished, seasoned diplomat, a renowned scholar and an adviser to two presidents like Condoleezza Rice is not fully qualified to make policy at the highest levels of the American government because she is a single, childless woman.”
Yeah, that’s totally not right. She meant that Condi and her ilk don’t have to sacrifice for the war.
It’s the same bullshit the lying CONs pulled when Kerry said, “that’s what happens if you don’t study in college . . . you end up stuck in Iraq.”
He clearly meant BUSH, but the lying CONs twisted it to mean the soldiers in Iraq.
We’re on to you bastards now.
Nobody is buying it anymore.
But you welcome to continue to show the world how desparate you are to shift the blame fromWorst.President.Ever.
We know what she meant and we know what Kerry meant, I heard it.So, which is it? Want to go back to the 1950’s with women? We already know where Kerry stands with his fellow soldiers.

I didn’t include recent (Jan. 2007) usage of Snark and noted there was one poster named Snark! on November 8 2006.
Except for 140+ bounced checks that Boxer wrote on the Congress Bank account, she’s a perfect angel. (rolls eyes)
Oh, heaven’s! The old bouncing check charge has bounced back once again.
Yep, why don’t you bring up George Washington Plunkett and Boss Tweed while you’re at it . . .
JM,
Kudos–and condolences–for the three-month bone dig. And here I thought I was the only one with nothing better to do.
As for ’snark,’ I’m surprised I only used the word once. I thought I was cleverer than that.
I put blog trolling and molesting children on the same moral plane. And for the record, neither one is among my vices.
FW, Again you take Kerry’s comments out of context. I heard what he said and once again he cannot make a pithy comment well. But there’s no doubt he was making fun of GW. At least Kerry served unlike GW, who got out of it with his Daddy’s help. And to be honest I can’t say that if I had the power to do it, I wouldn’t have tried to get my two boys out but they would have never allowed it because they are their own men and they made their own decisions. So that means that my sons, produced by a “liberal” mother are more patriotic than GW who was produced by Republicans! Who da thunk it!
I would have brought up Tweed and Plunket CapnAmerika
…but this is recent history and the person who did it is now Senator Boxer, aka ‘Ms. Clueless’.
Anyone who makes a claim about someone’s marital status in employment qualification is in violation of Federal law and all states too.
Of course, I would guess that clueless Boxer would know such a thing.
JM,
Well. That remark was as silly as it was intellectually dishonest.
Glad that you Repukes have something to get exercised over, to take your mind off the Dry Drunk in Chief’s impending attack on Iran.
Heh, now you know what we’ve been fighting day after day on this BLOG, Brenda.
CONservatives believe like Lewis Carroll’s Humpty Dumpty that words mean whatever they want them to mean.
That means that liberals like Kerry and Boxer can have their statements willfully twisted to make them look bad.
Meanwhile, Bush’s dire warnings that “we cannot wait for the final proof, the smoking gun that comes in the form of a mushroom cloud” and drone airplanes that could attack us with WMD’s in “as little as 45 minutes” or “we found the WMD’s, we found them” are not lies, according to SuckWood.
No, those are just honest mistakes based on the intelligence reports at the time.
Unbelievable.
Just unbelievable.
Let’s see how that works for you in ‘08, LOSERS.
I would suspect, Brenda, and I am sure your boys wouldn’t say it, they are not as proud of you as you may think they are. Being a “Blame America” first person that you are.9/11 wasn’t our fault.
Funny, “blaming America first” didn’t seem to hurt us too much in the last election, did it, FellatioWood?
Every Democratic candidate held his-her seat. Every incumbent that lost was a Republican, despite desperate gerrymandering since 2000.
And given that Worst. President. Ever’s. idea of changing course in Iraq is to do the exact SAME THING that’s failed so far except do it with more troops, one can only be glad that you’ve chosen to go down with the rapidly sinking ship christened The U.S.S. Bush.
Even all you idiot voters can no longer save your party.
“JM,
Well. That remark was as silly as it was intellectually dishonest.Posted by: CF | January 13, 2007 at 08:51 PM
Sorry, I can’t pick out which remark to which you were referring. Using ambigious pronouns like “that” in a blog thread doesn’t exactly point out what to address.
Actually, my boys are very proud of me especially since they know about my background. They know I love them and I am proud of them too for standing up for what they believe. Actually that’s what I taught them. I always told them to be their own men. We don’t agree on a lot of things but love does not depend on that.I am amazed that when you can’t come up with an answer to my post you have to attack me personally. Are you a politician that I’ve never heard of? I just wondered because you engage in their tactics. So you telling me that you think it is perfectly ok for our govenment to support and prop up nasty govenments? Why is it that you have no outrage for that? If you beat your dog long enough don’t be surprised if he bites you if presented with the opportunity!
Heh, Brenda–
CONservative are stuck with Bush as “their guy;” what recourse do they have except attacking their opponents?
Lord knows, they can’t run on their record.
Sucks to be them . . .
Ah good
The open is as good a place to do this as any. And I see our man of the moment is here just in time.
fleetwood?
The concensus title of “blogs dumbest poster” has belonged to one particular poster here for a very long time. I’ll not name him.
Because you have claimed his crown!
fleetwood? You are now OFFICIALLY the blogs dumbest poster!
So say we all?
JR,I agree.
By the way, welcome back.
Moved and seconded.
All in favor of the motion on the floor–”Fleettwood is the Blog’s DUMBEST post-er”–signify by saying “aye.”
AYE!!!
Brenda,
I sincerely hope that your boys make it home safely, they shouldn’t spill their blood to benefit the zionists or haliburton.
Viva La Raza Blanco!!!
It has been moved and seconded that fleetwood be granted the title of “blogs dumbest poster”
All opposed?
chirp . . . chirp . . . chirp
Nothing but crickets . . .
Ian,Thanks.
mooncrickets????????????
There are a few coconuts posting on this blog, is Fleet really the coconut of coconuts???
Viva La Raza Blanco!!
There being no nay votes, this body orders that the title of “blogs dumbest poster” is hereby bestowed upon fleetwood aka hotlick.
There is a brief ceremony.
Omnibus celsius. Extremus rediculous. Glutius maximus whensthenextbus.
We do bestow the title “blogs dumbest poster” BDP upon fleetwood.
BDP fleetwood?
Henceforth and among the many troll nics you wear, you shall be known as BDP fleetwood.
(Going out and banging your head on your driveway is tradional at this point. But you may suspend until more clement weather)
All laugh at BDP fleetwood!
Actually Fleetwood jacks with everyone and your naive enough to believe he is serious when he is jacking you all around.
So, I would say he just outsmarted you all by not knowing the difference when someone is mocking your ‘blogness’ by making ridiculous or even outrageous remarks.
(waits for the shrill squeal of liberalism)
I move that JM is the second dumbest post-er on the Blog.
Do I have a second?
And the first porker AKA Captain America squeals…
BDP Fleetwood
Well earned and richly deserved!
Henceforth, he shall be called by this title . . .
If I were headed for the title Deputy BDP, I think I’d just stay silent.
But then, you can’t be truly dumb if you don’t know when to shut up.
Somebody check. When did JR and CapnAmerica purchase the blog?
From the quality of their recent posts though, I suspect a little bottle tipping going on. I have a tasty Sam Adams sitting here myself.
Hey JR and Capn, don’t forget the debut of “24″ is Sunday. You should take it in.
As the Orwellian Novel writes, “All animals are equal but some are more equal than others,”
The head porker CapnAmerica has squaled his ultimatum.
make that “squealed” not “squaled” :)
Honestly, I think to be called “dumbest” by a bunch of dummies….
I invoke algebra rules: two dumbs make a positive!
“I would suspect, Brenda, and I am sure your boys wouldn’t say it, they are not as proud of you as you may think they are. Being a “Blame America” first person that you are.9/11 wasn’t our fault.”
Well, Fleetfuck, I am sure that when Brenda’s sons return home, you are going to be in for the ass kicking of your life for insulting their mother. It is damned presumptuous of you to think that you can speak for Brenda’s boys.
I am sure, as they are beating you to a bloody pulp, that you will claim that it was all in good fun and that you were just kidding.
Actually, Fleet, I am sure that there are many American service men and women that would like to kick your ass for supporting an ill-conceived war of choice.
And you would never know what hit you.
Unfortunately, you are just too damned dumb to realize what an idiot you are.
Ewwww Outlander
You have been a semi respected poster here. Look at the company you are keeping lately though.
BDPfleetie is an embarrasment to “your side”. I should think you would thank us for discrediting him. He busted his own slim credibility trolling on this thread.
JM? Don’t get his back. He won’t get yours. He’ll get pissy and stomp off the blog.
And the goofnut? Hell he will likely troll your nic given the chance.
Not good company outie.

Go sell some blood, your 401k won’t last forever.
BDPFleetfuck?
BBAGolfNut?
BBHJM?
BBRSantiago?
I think the more media attention paid to the Boxer-Rice issue the better.
Most rational people (which excludes BDP fleetwood) realize that Boxer was only saying that those serving, and their families, were making the sacrifices — paying the costs. It’s obvious in the context of her statement.
And that focuses attention on the important question of whether more sacrifices caused by an escalation are worth the probably negligible (or even negative) results.
Why do they call her Kind-of-sleazy Rice?
JM,That’s hilarious. You win best line of the night.
“SEN. BARBARA BOXER, D-CALIF.: Who pays the price? Who pays the price? I’m not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old and my grandchild is too young. You’re not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family.”
The question Senator Boxer was trying to get to was how many casualities will result when more troops are deployed (paraphrased.)
Which would be impossible to answer not knowing future events.
Guess one had to be there to feel the prickly heat by the accusation of “who pays the price?”
Anyone who has ever been in the military during combat situations knows the answer to the quesiton and have mulled it over in their mind.
I don’t think it should be used on the floor of the Senate as a brow-beating measure when the question by Boxer was already formulated and knew there was no answer. Boxer should have asked her real question on proposed casualty losses instead of being a calous and pompous ass.
This type of rhetoric from both sides serves no purpose. If I was still in the military, I would tell them in my mind (can’t say it outloud in military or you’d be courts-martialed :) ) to both shutup and just send me the equipment so I can do my job.
There is no good reason for this type of questioning and conduct by a U.S. Senator.
JM,
Boxer’s remarks were made at a Foreign Relations Committee hearing. Are those held on the “floor of the Senate”?
Boxer DID ask about “proposed casualty losses”.
What military “equipment” do you need, and use, to stop a civil war, and also form a stable government?—JM: “Actually Fleetwood jacks with everyone and your naive enough to believe he is serious when he is jacking you all around.”
So BDP fleetwood knew that Al Gore didn’t mention Willie Horton, the marginal tax rate was 91% in 1962 when JFK said, “tax rates are too high today” and lowered it to 70%, that Ken Lay did not sleep in the WH when Clinton was President, etc?
What’s the motive behind his spreading falsehoods? Shift the topic away from something that’s indefensible? Waste everyone’s time, and derail the thread?
That’s similar to your rants that Scripps was sloppy, when their 0.16 ppm error is insignificant compared to 60+ ppm rise of CO2.
Cosmos,
I am pretty sure that committee is in a chamber, not on the floor it’s self.
Either way Senate Decorum is and should be in place.
As far as equipment goes, we are going to be getting better more IED proof vehicles so while we patrol we will not be as open to attack.
Derail an open thread… brilliant Cosmos.
Foreign Relations:Dirksen Senate Office Building Washington, DC
What is that, the floor of Kirby Vacuum Salesmen?
“What military “equipment” do you need, and use, to stop a civil war, and also form a stable government?”
And what color is salt?irrelevant question.
And what Democratic Senator voted to have Clinton impeached?
And yeah, doing calibration after the sampling is done is still wrong Cosmos.
You see I can put irrelevant crap in my post just like Cosmos.
“Gentle lady, my remarks were not directed at you.”
No, just liberals in general, and since I’m a liberal… You’d be amazed at my Puritan soul, Hank, although I am learning to beat it down. *grin*
Life’s a bitch, and then you reincarnate. (Oops! Sorry for the profanity, but without it, it ain’t the same.)
Testicles, I have never in my LIFE used the term BULLSNARK. Not even in my vocabulary till now.
YOU go back and prove it dumbass, there is a search tool in there, use it.
Yeah, he can’t prove anything, P-Mom.
Tiene nada.
GoofNut is just a slightly richer version than BDP (Blog’s Dumbest Poster) Fleetwood.
Nobody takes anything he says seriously.
About the only CONservative who can somewhat back up his points is GMC70. The rest of them are just ditto heads whose arguments such as they are completely fall apart at the slightest nudge.
Consider Nathan above, crowing about finally getting armored Humvees FOUR YEARS into the war.
Don’t worry, Nathan, Halliburton got it’s no-bid billion dollar contract from DAY ONE.
Fat crony war profiteering–protected.
Service men on patrol–not protected.
Tally ho . . .
Good post, Cosmos.
It’s hard to keep up with the torrent of lies the reich-wing spews, but thinking readers everywhere appreciate your debunking of these really egregious lies.
I think Testicles should get the BDP award. Afterall, at least Fleetwood TRIES to make a point, even though it is pretty funny to watch him try…Testicles doesn’t even try.
Well the BDP for fleetwood is ….no pun inteneded….a no brainer.
Now the goofnut might actually be a candidate to be blogfart II. Since the holder of that crown seems to have disappeared or perhaps finally been confined to a facility.
And JM? I’ll just let that little shot he took at me upstairs stand for itself…and him. I’ll also invite him to kiss my ass. Pig.
JM,
“doing calibration after the sampling is done is still wrong”
You’re the expert — tell us how they had only a TINY 0.16 ppm error if they failed to do calibrations BEFORE samplings.
The data re the calibration cylinders they HAD used EARLIER was revised slightly. Note the title,
‘Revision of the international calibration scale for CO2-in-air: WMO-X2005.’http://www.cmdl.noaa.gov/ccgg/co2experts/abstracts/tans_p_19.pdf“The repeatability … of the calibrations has improved over time from 0.12 micromol/mol to 0.04 micromol/mol.
BTW: That link is here, comment 43, which you quoted from on the Arctic ice thread.http://www.realclimate.org/index.php?p=221
A Senate office is not the main “floor of the Senate”.
BDP fleetwood has derailed non-”open” threads.
You can’t stop a civil war with military equipment — you can only slow and/or delay the violence.
Read the whole plan Cosmos the President provided to the press. It includes all aspect of the war, including Politics, economy and Iraq self defense.
Yeah, it’s hand holding, but I would rather see a strong Iraqi ally than one left abandoned and subsequently taken over by Iranian and Syrian influences.
JM,
I’ve already read the “plan” — it doesn’t include “all aspects”, and I doubt it’ll work. And most experts on the issue think it has only a small chance of success.
